It's lunch time at work atm, I tend to make most posts at work short and sweet.

My reply was to swimfan65 hoping due to his education, career choice and perspective on life he would understand what I meant to say.
The psych part of the equation is once you speak it you actually have a sensory response by hearing it as well, that has a bigger impact on the subconscious than just thinking it.
I am actually interested in looking more into Kai now Swim said that, Kai is a very colourful individual. Years ago I always liked Nasser for being different and was devoed when I found out he died not long ago.

I skipped my evening television show to catch up on this thread. Well worth the sacrifice haha....sooo much going on. Gotta say one thing to all of you. Thanks fo realz - you guys have taught me how to eat. I used to eat as much as I could and not be anywhere near my target intake, but no more. I continually go back through this thread and look at all the ideas you have thrown out and DAM! JUST CANT WAIT for the winter bulk....
 
Dude, I think Newth is an Astro Physicist. I think the only reason he misspells or has grammar snafus is because he used a space age speak-to-text device of his own creation. Only It actually uses his thoughts without him even needing to speak, only the program that he installed it with, was created by a dyslexic friend of his, and he didn’t double check everything before installing it into his brain stem with a simple magnetic Bluetooth apparatus.

Seems like Palumbo is taken seriously by the worst of the industry. Bostin Lloyd was a regular on his show.

For sure. Whatever I do, I'm all in 100%. Ive never had a beer in my life, Ive had 20..but not 1. Ive also never ate one piece of pizza...even if it sucks.

I never thought this thread would be as great as it is, it is simply a byproduct of humble, hard working, respectful guys that have insight in a LOT of different areas in life and lifting.The internet bodybuilding/powerlifting community has come along way in the years I’ve been lingering around it. So much great advice and support here. I love stopping by throughout the day...

I'm like 5 weeks chronic alco again and live in Australia....I'm thinking there could be an issue with me going.

It took me 5 years to really dial in my alcoholism and keep it under control(the first illusion is that alcoholism can even be controlled)

One always forgets what booze can do to their life with long enough sobriety. It’s like my disease is doing push-ups while I’m overcoming, ready at anytime to take my the **** down and ruin me at any given moment when I try to convince myself I can get away with “just a few”

I would say 60-70% of my use over time has been addiction related, after a one week binge this time I felt it going deeper so entertained it....Saturday is my last go, after that it's any 2 drinks a night to wein off the sides, they kick in about 3-4pm.

Scour the internet, there isn't a lot of info really. It raises Follistatin(pretty well apparently too), among several other things. So much debate on the realty of if it really works in the short term or not. Until the BB community start rolling in with recorded data there is no real way to be sure though.

A 19nor that kicked in fast, it gave effects on mood like I hear about tren without the libido. It let me shovel in carbs with only mild puffyness.

I've read everything from designed to run year round for longterm use, to only a stepping stone to a new class of compound and was never intended for human use. I would err on the latter for now, in time things could get really interesting.
It has loads of potential, it's just so new.

Matthersby is a lil closer to some things than he gets. I have a cone, I go from witty bottom of the english class student to full dyslexic english between eyes, brain and keyboard. I still get all the sh!t but it takes like 10 times longer to input it...and my spelling is ****, takes so long to look words up, you would think I would just get grammarly but I don't really want to because it would make it worse, lol.

And Toren, I'm having a little less love for you at this moment now I think of it...You Made Me See The Words Grammar Nazi...since the 20/01/18 I've been trying to work on that, but between...things...and becoming complacent...ahh, words suck.

I've never tried self talk, but I've done it my whole life, if that makes sense?
Knowing I subconsciously do it I am a little interested to see what it would do if I put an effort into it. I think the remembering by imagining a wild story as you walk in your front door idea is cool, even when my memory recall is good I still struggle with that though.
I learnt about how powerful self talk is by noticing most my bosses when asked what they want me to do would explain what everyone else was doing first...I just put 2 and 2 together and still let them do it.

Also, Ultimate Warrior is Gold, honestly though, any idea if it was one or two guys really?

After what was 10-12 years of heavy weed smoking it took nearly 7 years to relearn to concentrate properly again, included that booze issues were a factor at times but not also. At a guess I'm looking at hopefully a year this time.

Saying things out loud, as you said, lets us hear them, and that repetition can be used to essentially brainwash yourself into self-belief. Your entire outlook, the way you approach problems or obstacles, changes when you feel good about who you are and what you are capable of if you are really willing to do what it takes to overcome.

I need this today. I’ve got so many bullshyt obstacles from my past I’m trying to overcome, and nothing comes together easily, it takes a dozen phone calls, money I don’t want to spend, bargaining, taking time off work, spending my day off dealing with, and sometimes a problem that anyone else seems to get solved in 5 minutes with ease. I run into 25 hurdles making it seem impossible. My luck is the worst of anyone I’ve known but I just keep tackling stuff one thing at a time until it’s behind me. Gotta start looking at it positively.

Man I needed to read that. 271 days sober today. I keep telling myself that if I ever pick up again, I won’t ever be able to put it down. My therapist told me to picture where I would be at after a year of drinking again. That always refocuses me. All addicts have that voice in their head, my therapist always told me that my head is a bad neighborhood and to lock my doors and to get the **** out of it as quick as possible. She was also a drunk like us forever in recovery.

With the progression of relapses up until 3 years ago or so, if I started up, I’d probably be dead in couple weeks.

Whenever I think of drinking again I think of the darkness I associated with it. It’s like when I was drinking the world was always dark and raining. The last 3 years (which was a relapse after 3.5 yrs sober) I honestly didn’t enjoy alcohol at all, I felt completely powerless to something, like I couldn’t prevent my hand picking up the bottle.

Those thoughts really help refocus me on how much I never want to go back there. Been 5 and a half years now but I’ll never be complacent about sobriety.

Damn, I'm starting to realize more and more how many ppl are or were ****ed up. Myself included. I feel a little better talking about it seeing everyone else do it. I still battle the bottle. Going on a cycle always gave me a reason to take a break. But lately I can't go more then 3-4 days.
 
My dad just got his 30 year coin. They actually melted down one and had a ring made out of it for him. He’s 68 years old, and all his best friends are in AA - the relationships he has forged and the people he has been able to help are worth more to him than probably anything but his kids now.

He still prays the serenity prayer every single morning, and he still takes life one day at a time - the way God meant for us to live it.

The more I talked to others about my addiction, the easier it became to fight it. **** the stigma of not talking about it, be honest with yourself and others. You’d be surprised the amount of people in your life who are dealing with the same ****.

Might sound crazy, but I get a lot of that here. I may need meetings again at some
point, but my life is so good right now, and there has been zero temptation, even today with having to leave work early and drop $500 I didn’t expect to spend, and running around all day with disappointment and struggle, I remain focused on my long term goals. You may notice, I rarely cater to prideful arguments or demean anyone. My main goal is to offer support and help and receive encouragement daily here also. It keeps me away from my own selfishness too. There’s truth to routine, acknowledgment, and selflessness, it’s where the magic of recovery is nestled.

There’s probably a good dozen solid guys in the last 110 pages that have spent time out of their day discussing their own recovery and offering encouragement also. I love AM and I get more out of my relationships here than you’d ever believe.

Hopefully it’s not as toxic of a substance for you as it has been for me, but I wish you the best whatever direction you go with it. There’s not just one path, I’ve met many that were able to keep a lid on booze but still enjoy it from time to time. Was never an option for me unfortunately.
