Best Nootropic For Mood And Happiness

I think that in terms of overall brain health, mental health, cognitive function, mood and energy, Evomuses' Clear Edge seems like the only all inclusive supplement/way to go. It has the non-stim bonus too which means you could take it every day.

I would say Vicaine meets all those requirements as well. Multiple ingredients within Vicaine have been shown to not only improve overall cognitive function, but aide in certain areas of brain health as well...and it certainly improves mood and energy levels.

Try green bali. Very relaxing without knocking you out. Uplifts mood but not very stimulating

I've tried most strains by now (although, not sure I've tried a green bali). Can't tolerate any whites. Used to love greens (green malay, indo, etc) but now even those are too stimulating...along with some reds (red thai and red maeng da). A classic or red bali seems to just work best right now. I have a bit of a stockpile of reds...so it may be a while before I try anything else. :)

Oh yeah, I've also noticed lately that a small amount of cbd (around 5 mg) mixes really well with kratom (too much cbd just makes me sleepy). Seems to enhance and prolong the effects a bit.

It’s a solid and unique product for sure, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend using it daily as the poster mentioned regarding something more “traditional” like Clear Edge.

What are your most noteable effects from the Green Kratom? And does Kratom carry any side effects?
Also, when is the best time to take it?
I notice a solid increase in mood/euphoria, as well as reduced anxiety, and increased sociability and talkativeness. I don’t use it more than 2 times a week, and usually not even that often. I try to stay hydrated, and I take it with agmatine, which may potentiate the benefits and/or reduce any dependence that may come from it. I would recommend avoiding it if you have problems with addiction though, at least if you’re just planning on using it for mood/recreational effects. I like 5g Green Indo with 1g Agmatine.

I don't think I'd need it every day. I usually feel quite down and sad after dinner and just want something to help me through the rest of the night and be able to enjoy more time with the family.

its amazing for this

red strains are my fav

Its an opiate Receptor agonist.. So it stimulates a feel good/mood boost. Its very mild compared to your opiods prescribed by doctors though. Side effects will be user dependant but based on myself personally. Nothing. Pre workouts gave me far more side effects than kratom.

Take it as soon as you wake up. Start with a smaller dose 1-2 grams at the start. My sweet spot now is about 5 grams when i wake up and that lasts a good 5 hours. Take on an empty stomach. I just toss and wash it with a black coffee in the mornings and you will feel the effects within 20-30 mins.

I take green strains for the energy. Its not on comparison as a pre workout as in a buzz of energy its more like a happier state of mind.

Review your vendor before purchase to get info on how people rate the strains as they can vary. Thiers some good vendors still as easily to get info on them all.
There it is. Always empty stomach. Lower dose to start. Lower is almost always stimulating while higher being more relaxing

Are there any legit brands or standardizations I should be looking for whilst I'm shopping for Kratom?

THIS RIGHT HERE. Agmatine has also been proven to help with drug addictions

If you take it everyday tolerance will rapidly increase. You will not notice the effects anymore

While I wouldn't recommend it, I've been taking kratom (4-6 grams) every day for 4 or 5 months and still notice the effects (not as strong but still there). However, if you want to keep the initial euphoric effects (versus the mild/moderate mood boost I currently experience), then days off are best.

Everyone responds differently

Agree. Also think the lower doses (compared to what many take) help reduce complete loss of effects.

Also want to add that many notice strong effects again (after daily use) by reducing their dose amount in half for a while or changing strains.

Couldn't have explained it better

Thinking about trying a new strain for bit. Having trouble deciding between ordering a green from one company (currently using their red) and yellow from mile high/straight up kratom (used it in the past and it worked pretty well for mood and anxiety). First world problems...

I miss Agmatine :(

Nah, maybe just 2-3 nights per week.

Still struggling to find a legit UK Kratom supplier

After six weeks or so of dosing Green Maeng Da daily, the benefits did not take a significant decline for me. I did take it with agmatine as well. Since stopping Kratom supplementation for the time being a few days ago, I have not experienced any withdrawal symptoms whatsoever..

Taking Kratom daily for a couple weeks doesn't seem to increase my tolerance, but also a few weeks off doesn't bring my tolerance down. It seems I consistently need 10-12g to feel good from it, even more if it is a crappy source. It does wonders for my mood and overall sense of well being, even just taking it once a day at night.

i heard live plants give better result..

Phenibut also has terrible withdrawal symptoms.
I have personally experienced it and... Wow. What an awful one! I thought after a week nothing seems to be happening? Got away with it.. A day or so later i was sitting and a just felt major depressed and a dark cloud over me but i didnt connect it to Phenibut at first due to me only taking it 2x per week but i know now it was.. As after a week or 2 i started to feel normal again and never will use Phenibut.. Its actually a powerful supplement

it's powerful drug it's not supplement
I was Soooooooo stupid when i use it
never will use Phenibut

I used to take 250 mg and I had panic attack :06:
I used 1 gram per time. About 2-3 times a week.

The company who supplied mine had in the directions to use 2-3 capsules (500mg caps) 2-3 times a day! Terrible advice. Obviously want you to use them up quickly and then buy more. Withdrawals would be horrendous on that sort of dose. I got a bad withdrawal from my dose.

I wouldnt advice them to anyone now.. I use to while i took them as they do work.. But now i have felt the after effect i tend not too tell anyone to take them and to use more natural methods ie Ashwaganda.

Yeah, these are the directions on my bottle which I also find misleading to someone who does not have prior experience with phenibut to know any better;

As a dietary supplement, take 1 to 2 capsules 1 to 3 times per day, but do not exceed 4 total capsules in a 24 hour period. For intensive usage, take 4 capsules once per day. Start with a lower dosage to asses tolerance. Do not take for more than 5 days without at least a 2 day break.

Same result with me. By far one of the worst experiences. Interesting how some absolutely love and feel the positive effects and others where it is a complete depressive.

Its crazy how hit or miss it is... I believe it has to do with levels of gaba already in the brain. If its low or needs a boost then supplementing with it 2-3 x week (1 g is my go to dose) seems to work well. This is the case for me and the worst thing I feel is a crash about 24 hours later where I feel really tired for about an hour. I do feel like it brings a balance to things for me which is why I use it. The benefit is the nice relaxed calm feeling I get, especially the next day.

For some people its horrendous. It has to be brain chemistry imo.

Agree with the bolded part as any supplement (phenibut, ashwagandha, l-theanine, etc.) that increases or works though gaba causes me significant depressive symptoms.

edit: wanted to add that I read gaba and dopamine are inversely related. Therefore, if gaba is naturally high or dopamine low, then taking something that increases gaba might just push dopamine down even more (especially for something like phenibut which I believe causes a release of dopamine...ultimately resulting in much lower dopamine levels later on). I'm sure it's not that simple but it's the only way I can understand or relate to what's happening based on my experience (and very limited understanding on the subject).

most gaba antagonists or mimickers usually increase dopamine.

What do you mean by "mimickers"? Agree that gaba antagonists may increase dopamine but I was mainly talking about gaba agonists (like phenibut being a gaba b agonist).
Auto correct changed agonist to antagonist, so I meant agonist from the get go; and also by mimicked I also meant agonist, I just was used the word mimicker so it make sense to anyone whom did not know what agonist meant.

Lastly phenubit, from my understanding and research, has a much less affinity for the gaba B receptors, and much greater affinity for gaba A receptors

I think you have it backwards there. Phenibut has much higher affinity for gaba b and only acts on gaba a at high doses (it's also a very effective calcium channel blocker).

I definitely could be wrong there, I'll look it up again in a bit. However, it does without a doubt raise dopamine.

Here's a pretty good read on it - Invalid Link Removed.

It's my understanding that phenibut increases the release of dopamine and that will ultimately result in lowered dopamine levels (increase initially but lower in the long-term due to downregulation). However, like mentioned earlier, my understanding is pretty limited.

Well virtually anything that increases/releases or causes reuptake of dopamine, will ultimately lead to lower dopamine levels.

Has anybody had any sucess with Tryptophan? I know 5-HTP is considered to be the better metabolite as it has a faster/more efficient conversion rate to Seratonin but the body can build a tolerance to 5-HTP, whereas Tryptophan is an amino acid which "in theory" shouldn't become uneffective/dose increase dependent. It would obviously have a longer build up time but could surely be the better long term mood booster, even at a 1g+ daily dose?

I find it helps me really fall asleep faster/easier. Not that I have a problem falling asleep, just that it seems to make it easier for me to ignore distractions and fall asleep.

But nothing in regards to mood improvement?
I haven’t used it regularly/consistently enough to really gauge that. More of an as-needed/acute supplement. Studies have shown that t may be useful in helping with depression, PMS, seasonal affective disorder/winter depression, and smoking cessation, so mood benefits wouldn’t seem to be unheard of. The powder does not mix well at all though.

Thanks for the link, was a good read. Seems to be that the mood boosting effects of Tryptophan rely on pharma SSRI's, which is what I'm trying to avoid.
It looks like the PMS and winter depression studies found it to be effective alone? I didn’t read the actual studies though, just what they mentioned, so it may be good to check the references/studies.

From what I took from it Tryptophan is effective in regards to boosting mood but only when combined with other drugs. Works O.K on it's own but works greatly when combined with other drugs, which kind of makes the study redundant when studying the effects of Tryprophan solo.
