Awesome, I was thinking to myself I thought he was running this for 8 weeks. I guess you are just reviewing the sponsored portion here and will keep logging the next 4 weeks here also? I think that would benefit everyone to follow along for another 4 weeks. Are you going to post up pics to go with your review?

strong start to this log...even stronger finish

great job!!!

In for the second half ;) great stuff you've done up until now so I'd def want to see the end product

You had a great run bud! nice Results!

Cant wait seeing what the guys at Sparta is gonna cook up soon ! :D spoke with Yates.. He said something was in the making

Good morning 4/8

I have a couple of days left so I am wrapping this up now. I would like to thank Sparta Nutrition for allowing me to log Spartan Mass; Dma378 yates84 Joedoubledose Spartanutrition I really appreciate the opportunity. A brand new company with new products and being one of the first to do a log on the release is pretty awesome.

So my thoughts on Mass- My original plan was to get to 210 and then cut back to 203-206 with a lower BF. I took some advice from DreamWeaver

About my cal intake and doing so in such a short period of time which made more sense. Instead of 3500-4000 plus I stayed with 2800-3500 which actually was a better option. My ending weight is 204-205 and its not a sloppy or bloated 204-205 either.

Cost – 8/10 You get what you pay for. Does that mean every high end / costly PH will work? Answer is a definite no. When you have a company that can provide quality tests to show the purity, that is a good sign you are getting a pure product. Secondly, a bottle of another product that cost 35-40 each will most likely require you to buy 2 bottles to match the same dose as Mass, so you will probably end up paying more.

Taste/size of product- 10/10 It’s a small pill and wont get stuck on the way down

Effectiveness- 10/10- I have exceeded expectations and increased on all my lifts. Personal bests for Military press, most back routines and arms. Also started hitting legs again which to me is a big accomplishment. Each day in the gym was better than the last and when I wanted to push myself by adding more weight or reps, I did so without any hesitation.

Mental state- 9/10- Sometimes Im an airhead but hey its life and have to laugh but when it comes time to get it on, its on! Mass delivered with this. I had an aggression in the gym towards the weights. It wasn’t a roid rage or kill everyone, just “lets f’ing do this”. I had no desire to quit and left the gym because of time restraints.

Physical Issues- 10/10- as referred to – Lethargy, headaches, stomach aches, sleep issues, bloat, cramps- no neg side effects, no issues at all. Some increased hunger at times but never felt this cause me to not want to eat.

Final thoughts- this was a great run and would highly recommend this to others and would run this again. This is not like past cycles that increase your size and strength only to end up losing most of it. Adding 12,15 or 20 lbs of slop weight and losing most of it versus keeping 6-10 lbs of real strength and size; yea that is a no brainer.

Thanks for the log smith ! We got allot in store for the future so stay posted !

Yeah man, lots of good stuff in the works. Just a little business technicality had to be squared away before anymore releases were done. Just a short time now before things get rockin'!!

The only way brother!!! It's neat to see new stretch marks forming as you workout and can't wipe your face cause the pump is taking over.

Pounded the chest today 26 sets in total 4 or 5 different exercises, looked like a got a boob job lol

Lol. Did you try to touch your elbows/forearms together afterwards? That's the true indicator of the boob pump.
I just tried and can barely do this without a pump. LOL
Total muscle annihilation at its finest.... So what cup size you finish off at??lol
C, as in C them pecs growing!

late to the party, but subbed for the final tally at the end of an 8 week run (which is what I am planning in a couple of months). Or is there a separate thread (that i missed) for the last 4 weeks?

no, your on the right one- been busy doing a few things- but will be adding tonight or tomorrow-

The past week and a day (give or take) have been pretty crazy. Lots to do with my daughter and her first communion; practice at church etc. guy in our office was transferred to another office, so we have been a man down and they arent replacing him.

The first 6 weeks were pretty dam good. I passed the 200 mark with a diet between 2500-3100 cal a day. Dont ask me about macro's please, not going on stage anytime soon!
I was able to hit some new highs on my bent rows, military press and over all size was increased. I went up to 207 at one point, but that was after chowing down on really really bad food for a few days!

Mixed in with WAF and DreamWeavers routines, i was burning more calories so it brought me back down to a good 204-205'ish. Just about 6lbs with no bloat and some pretty good strength. No issues with sides at all. I could have gone to 210 easily but the work schedule and family events kind of hindered this. Oh not to mention i had to fit in my suit!

I purchased the second bottle and when you look at the over all price for a months cycle, Sparta does justify the price. I have not used any other product- believe they are now coming out with cycle support and after post cycle, which would compliment any of the sparta products.

The hunger which i noted on my first 4 weeks was a bit different during weeks 6-8 and this could be because of a multiple of issues. Stress and work issues can contribute to the negatives of ones quest for gains. But you have to take it all in stride. There is always tomorrow.

If you are looking for mass gains for a month cycle, its a great product to run. If you choose to run for 8 weeks, keep your diet in check and you should be fine.

Good luck to those who run a Mass cycle and any questions, please let me know

Late edition- special thanks to MrKleen73- great advice and introduced us to the kleen press. my traps and I are extremely grateful. my apologies for not adding this before

decent results...you always have to factor in that life will play a role in meeting any goal...overall looks like a good run!!!

Holy Crap was that free weight? Seated or Standing, if standing I may go cry in a corner. Well after I finish with my standing ovation!!!!! hell even sitting is ridiculous. I think the most I have ever done is standing for 225x2, and that might have had a little body english involved. I can't remember how strict it was. Now push press I can get pretty heavy.

hell no, I aint that crazy- seated smith with added wgt to compensate for the wgt assist. thanks bro

Okay that sounds safer and just as impressive knowing you actually adjusted for the bar. Does your machine tell you how much the bar weighs with the counter balance? They seem to be anywhere from about 5-20 lbs depending on the make. I prefer the ones that are almost zero'ed out. Just because i only count what I put on it then. However it helps to know the difference if you have to use more than one brand of smith machine to know what to load on each one.

I asked mgt to confirm- wanted to make sure-

other thing, I mentioned this before- the other military press has the 2 bars that will move forward allowing you a better lift. the problem, after you lift and start the first rep, you have to have those bars moved back. you can kind of hit them with the bar and they will return to the starting position.

the issue is, setting the wgt back, which forces your shoulders backwards and socket joints don't feel to good after that. using this device requires a spotter to reset the arms for the person using it.

Yeah, I honestly only use machines or DB for any seated press. I don't like the compression on my spine from doing them seated. I feel much safer standing and taking the bar out of the rack in a good position. I have used a lot of different military press stations and none of them ever have a good lift off situation. Like you mentioned the one that has the bar come forward is good for the lift off but not for actually lifting unless you have someone there to move the arm back. So I have always favored standing even though I could move more weight if seated.

Smithy liking your recent pics bro!! Getting all beastin and sh!t! :D keep up the good work!

thanls bro

good to see u again

Yah I don't do seated press at all anymore, always standing. Seated is how I fugged up my shoulder years ago and never had the balls to go back to it.

Do you military press in front of head or behind? Sorry if you all already answered this. I haven't had my coffee yet :P

I will do either and varied width grips. When I go heavy though always to the front. I don't like loading my shoulders with extremely heavy weight behind the head and focus more on hypertrophy weights and rep ranges with it. Lifting extremely on heavy overhead pressing outside of the scapular plane can cause impingement issues.

body English is right, that is why I do them seated...I tend to cheat standing.

I tend to do mine very strict most of the time but I was a lot younger when I did that and just don't remember if there was any leg involvement. The last time I went heavy on strict standing shoulder press was a few years ago and I got 205x3 which I was very happy with. Not sure where I am on that now or if I will ever attempt to go that close to my 1RM again on an overhead movement.
