Douchebags at the gym...

When the DL right in front of the squat rack I'll grab a bar from elsewhere and jump in the squat rack right in front of them.

My Douchebag Encounter-

Was doing failure sets, and most of the people at our gym are really helpful and nice. I went up to a guy with intentions of getting a spot from him. When I asked him "are you going to take a quick break in a minute?" He saw this as the golden opportunity to share all of his weightlifting advice. He started telling me how many, how long and why he took his breaks then shared his life story of how if it wasn't for weightlifting he'd be dead, and how he knows all of these "homies" that can lift way more then anyone in the gym and how he use to be like that. (This guy was squatting 155 six times when I approached him.) Aside from all of that I finally got my point across and he walked over to my bench and told me "I use to put up this weight 15 times" (285 lbs) I said, oh well that's too bad now. I lifted my one rep and he said "you can only do one!?.... Here let me try." I asked don't you want to warm up first? He disregarded my advice and attempted to bench press 285. He failed to even get the weight off the rack and so he just walked off and said nothing else.

Haha, walked away with his balls tucked in between his legs!

Yep. When I go to the gym and see someone lifting more than me I ask them for advice not try to outdo them. When he was telling me his stories he was even getting in my face just like how the person he was talking about got in his.

He TRIED to get all Alpha Douche on ya lol. Im happy to say I havent come across anyone like that at my gym.

Tried, yes. The whole gym saw him fail to get it off of the rack. Any average joe could at least raise it 1 inch.

I don't think any average Joe could raise it at least 1 inch. Maybe if he was tickling my taint, it might raise a bit but being that it's a dude, the weirdness and ick factor of it would surely keep me limp. Now if puccah8808 or love2liftkat were doing it, I'd full rep it........

Wait, what were you talking about?

Okay, I've been wondering this for a while . . . . .

WHAT'S THE DEAL with wearing sunglasses in the gym - and throughout one's workout?

Okay, I know there are SOME who likely have a legitimate eye condition and they're prescription shades ... but it can't be all of them. Is it some kind of quasi "I'm too cool for skool" complex? To me they just look like complete douchebags.
(those with legitimate eye condition/prescription notwithstanding)

Yeah, those are basically douchebag flags. Makes it easy to identify them even before they start doing their normal douchey things.

I once saw a guy trying to lift with sunglasses, a necklace, two bracelets, and a hat tilted to the side. In between, and sometimes during each lift, he would adjust each one to make sure they were tilted the way that he wanted. It made me exhausted just watching him.

Seriously?! WTF?! That is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard, gym speak. Go pull the fuse on the lights next time & see if these poor souls just walk around bumping into things & flexing at anything shiny...

This older lady was watching me dead this morning but I didn't think too much about it. After I was done, she came up to me and said, "when you drop the weights, it really hurt my ears. The weights hitting each other and that clinking noise scares me and gives me a headache. You're not the only person who drops the weights but I just wanted to let you know so you don't do that next time."

I was like... omg, I'm sooooo sorry (not really)! I guess I didn't notice because I couldn't hear myself dropping it, must be my loud music. In my head, I was thinking, "how the fcuk should I put down 275 lbs?" Technically, I did not slam the weights down nor dropped it half way. I just didn't gently set it down like a little b*tch.

Tell her to go play bingo. Im all for older people going to the gym and staying active, but at the end of the day its a gym. Go to planet fitness or bingo (i wonder if planet fitness has bingo...now thats an idea).

Haha, I was looking around and thinking, "Am I at Planet Fitness?!"
I don't mind older people working out either but you are definitely correct. A trainer was working out next to me and he didn't have a problem with it. We actually talked about it before I left the gym and he just rolled his eyes. Haha

I can send you some earplugs to hand to her next time...

I'd just tell her to get out of my face - thats my plan from here on out - I'm tired of people just talking **** because they think they can. They need some feedback. "You ****ing pick that up and put it down gently then - and then I will - you old bitch."

I wish I was a fcuking a*shole. Although I am being an a*shole right now with my classmates who are fcuking up our team assignments. I fcukin' told her the truth alright.

Maybe say it in a nicer way - like suggest she turn down her hearing aid? :aargh:

Or suggest you put your bar down on her labradoodles/sproodles/shhitese or whatever the heck mixed breed of yappy rat dog old folk like, so it doesn't hurt her ears. I'm tipping that'll scare her off quick smart.
It's a freakin gym!! Do you go to a bar & ask for the music to be turned down? Nope, it's kinda expected to be noisy. Don't like it...go pick another spot to workout.

Even worse than the homosexuals in the changeroom are the latent homosexuals who hang around the free-weights whooping & high-fiving each other and slapping each other on the ass after every set they do. Or trying to dangle their balls into each other's mouths everytime they spot one another on the bench while going, "Yeah... Yeah... Yeah... That's it! Harder! One more! Ahhhh!" :D

Classic AM 2009... Crazy times!

I was squatting outside the power rack and people are standing right next to me while others are just grabbing plates. Omg!!! Grrrrr! Fcuk gym etiquette tonight!

It's time you stopped showering Puccah. Let poor hygiene create space for you :yuck:

It's because they suck a lot of dik and so they wear eye protection at all times.

There's a guy at the gym who wears biker spandex and headband. No problem. Problem comes when he continuously walks around the gym and passes through several times, every time I'm there with his junk at my head level. It's quit annoying. He purposely does this, walks paste in particular and looks at the TV AS IF that's what he intended to look at. I want to grab him by the throat and toss him.

Lol. I forgot to mention that fluorescent orange top and grey hair. He looks to be 45-50. I mean seriously. I'm half tempted to take a picture of him and post it. Worst part is it's a gym I'm visiting until I relocate. He somehow appears even when I'm there sporadically.

Turn an elbow into his junk, or a weight.

I'm going to have to if he keeps the crap up!

You can't really see it but it's a sticker of a kid peeing on the word "STEROID". I was

Funny, even in a small hole in the wall town near yellowstone park, the same type of a-holes have to be in the gym. One guy yells after every rep, for every exercise, even body weight crunches. The other grunts, farts plays the music loud, and leaves weights all over the place. Together they are quite the dynamic douchebag team.

Douchebags know no borders.

I'd heard about it but never saw until yesterday. Finally saw the douchey complicated hand shake/fist bump bull****!t after these 2 chubby nubs did some really ****ty cable curls. They seemed offended when I laughed out loud.

So he has...a picture of a boy...with his pants down & junk out...on his vehicle. Hmmm. And steroid users are offensive to him?! Okaaay.

Oh...wait...I almost missed the naked woman sticker at the bottom. Aaaand what looks like some sorta "couple having a domestic" sticker on the left.
Interesting. Can you follow this guy Puccah, watch him train, maybe ask him on a date...??? :yup: :fingersx:

I train at a nude gym. Tan lines offend me.

Helps you set a squat depth without needing a mirror, right? I hear the zumba class is popular too

Haha... 'murrrrrrica! :D

I think it's still sexy.

Backwards baseball hat (presumably to keep sweat out of face) at the gym - douchebaggy or no?

I do that all the time. But it's a Patriots hat so I take heat from haters all the time anyway.
