After a certain age the backwards baseball hat, yes it does look douchebaggy.. imo
32 here, still rock the backwards cap playing softball and if I wear one out. I feel I earned it by playing baseball for 25 years and continuing to do so.

I'm happy for you. But all the baseball players wear their hat with the visor in front. All except for one....The catcher

Not really doucheeeeee but weird. Usually when someone is looking at you and you catch them, they'll look away. This trainer was staring at me, so I smiled and looked away. I looked back and he was still staring. A bit creepy.

Overheard a guy (works there) trying to tell a bigger guy (customer) how to eat to gain muscle a little bit ago at Academy Sports. "I'm telling you man, 6 oz of tilapia is what you should eat."

I was at a new gym trying it out with a buddy of mine teaching him how to lift, so one guy some guy comes in white shirt tucked into his jeans just walking around flexing his chest taking selfies. So I'm done using the box to help my friend try to squat, he comes over looks at us then takes to box to put his stuff on(I didn't care because I was done with it). He goes the the bench sits down on it takes a selfie and video tapes the gym, so I changed my mind and needed the box again, I asked him if I can take it and he said yea. Then I took a smaller box and put the other box back in the same place it was, he goes to bench without even looking, hits the box, re-racks the bench, tosses the box like a mad man, then hits his 160 for 3 reps and walks around like the king of the world lol. Basically this guy just walks around flexing and taking selfies; barely even lifts. At one point he was walking around with 30s straight up flexing his arms looking in the mirror. The guy was lean not going to lie but WHAT A ****ING DBAG. I'm all for doing whatever the **** you want but I just wanted to put a dbag stamp on this guys head lol.

My coworker told me that my problem is that I lift too much....

I didn't realize that lifting was a problem.

I believe a proper response to that is something along the lines of "I may lift too many weights, but by the looks of your ass you lift too many donuts so STFU."

Unless your coworker is your boss, in which case don't blame me if you get fired.

#fact lol. I weigh meat portions on my scale set to LB setting. Haha. If I don't have a blown out gut that looks like I'm 8 months pregnant all day and it's uncomfortable then I'm not eating enough food.

Lol there's these three douches that do those neck crunches at my gym taking up a bench or worse the cable row. The way I was trying to describe it to a mate, looks like something a porn star would do to practice chugging **** and strengthen the neck muscles to take that throat pounding.

I feel bad for those couple guys in that vid trying to max out on squats and not getting there - they don't really belong :(

I agree, bit of collateral damage in there i'm afraid. Can't knock someone for having a go.

The guy jumping all over the cable machine like Spider Man on crack however...that's just...there are no words. Maybe i'm just jealous :ponder:

Whenever you're feeling a little blue, maybe haven't hit those numbers, just take a moment to watch someone paying no attention to form & doing their darnedest to put themselves in traction.

My friend keeps talking sh*t about how some people can't atg squats. I told him that it's not always about atg squats. Then I asked what his squat PR was and what his atg max was. He didn't know wth a PR was but told me that the most he's ever atg squat was 165.

I'm either parallel or ATG, I'd never count anything else as a squat.

Not everyone should go "ATG" which i hate that term honestly. Not everyones body structure is optimal for such deep squats and it would cause more harm then good for them, if your a powerlifter then fine i understand the importance of a deep squat but if your a body builder you should focus on what feels best for you and focus on the muscle not how deep of a squat you do because of you worrying that someone will flame you about it not being "ATG". I know myself anything below parallel causes more harm then good and i can routinely do 3 plates for 25 or 4 plates for a good set of 12-15. Am i worried about getting flamed not at all because thats not best for my structure, most that say about "ATG" probably has never even felt 4 plates on their back and even think about going parallel with it on their back, Sure if the individual doesn't look very experienced then maybe help them out with some friendly advice but remember whats optimal for you might not be for them. There is a base for every movement but it will be tweaked slightly between every person to fit their body or needs.

That is true, like old people, people with bad joints, and/or old injuries that healed. There are special cases like those but I believe the average healthy individual should be able(if trained properly)to at least be able to go parallel with decent form. ATG isn't needed, but more optimal for hamstring muscle recruitment if I remember correctly.

*I stand corrected https://youtu.be/m3mtISc20f8 ATG is for more glutes recruitment and better for sports conditioning, also a minority of the population can't do atg.

Maybe I was the douche....... I don't know!

A kid was benching on the smith machine. Some Xmas tree looking plates! I'm guessing a 45, a 25, a 10, and 2x5s. He unracks and nope, it's not going up. I'm thinking to myself, "eh, I'll let him try then go over and pull it off of him!" Struggling, struggling, and nope, he can't push it up enough to rack it. It's literally on his chest and I know he's freaking out. Finally I walk over right before he slips out from under the bar, letting the weights slam on the bench.

2 other guys saw me rush over and they rushed to help him as well. No thank you, no nothing. He gave us this look like wtf are you guys doing? You're embarrassing me and I got this sh*t. I knew one of the guys and just gave him this "you see that effn sh*t look." He even apologized to the kid saying, "aww, man, I'm sorry, I was busy spotting my wife and didn't see you struggling." Still no thank you.

So.. I am starting to see this a LOT at my gym. Why do guys press like this??

It requires more balance and activates more smaller muscles not being able to press into the floor with your feet. Try it with a moderate load and see how it feels different.

If it was a douchebag, he would be standing on a Bozu Ball with a squat bar on his back doing 1 legged squats. Actually saw it in my gym.

Serious? Even with benching? I thought the leg drive was important, and for safety as well.

I am not putting my legs up in the air while in the gym like that LOL
