This was taken in the South Pacific Ocean off Hawaii. We participated in war games with Navies from all over the Pacific. My job was Morse Code and Signal flags, especially during refueling at sea. Best way to spend 4th of July while deployed!

I am spending my fourth by training and working. I have to pay this year of school out of pocket so I need to work as much as possible this summer since I will hardly be able to work during the semester. I just paid the fall tuition out of pocket

Went to Mt. Vernon (George Washington's estate) and took a tour of it. Doesn't get much more American than that [cant get my photo to post]

Then went to WWII and Vietnam memorials in the national park. As a former officer it was striking to see the casualties we've endured over the past century.

The 4th of July is my favorite Holiday. Simply due to there is no stress. Nothing to buy for others. Just spending time with the ones you truly want to be around , friend family and loved ones. Also Although I am not a veteran, I have a huge respect for them and always take time to call the ones I know personally and say thank you.
