This is another complex subject but again I like what you said; do what works for you. In fact i say that to a lot of people these days.
I teach them the basics, then tell them to manipulate variables to suit their preferences because there is no wrong answer (to a degree lol). I myself love nutrient timing peri workout and for me that consists of a big meal pre, gatorade intra and creamed rice, blueberries and a scoop of whey post. This often totals 200g of carbs for all three meals with fats and proteins for dinner and breakfast (carbs only peri workout).
