PES Select Protein: Read up!

Any FRUIT flavor wont sell will Too hit or miss on the market and consumers dont like to be slaved to a fruit flavor that may get old quick. hence why they do not sell well.
Although banana is obviously a fruit, I feel most banana protein shakes I've had are very rich. I'd like to see more on the market.

I think if any fruit were to do well Banana would be the winner, it's a common addition to shakes and more widely enjoyed than others.

The only issue is that pretty much every attempt at making a Banana protein powder has failed in terms of taste. Very hard to mask that synthetic feel and often aftertaste. Also bananas taste completely different based on ripeness, if it were to taste ripe I would enjoy it but not my wife, she likes hers still 'green peeled' and under-ripe.

That being said I have faith PES would do as good a job as could be done.

I always hate when people start suggesting flavors because it always makes me start craving stuff. :D

Love peanut butter and bananas. I want some type of cheesecake flavour

Like the Solution i usually avoid it and yet I buy a new jar semi-weekly.

I envy my wife's metabolism lol

i dont avoid it
my diet is very high carb (around 400+G daily) and my fats are 55-60g
Trace fats add up VERY fast
my main sources of fat are whole eggs, 95/5 beef, and trace sources from chicken, carb sources etc.

I know you've done various contest preps so what's your reasoning for this? Just found that works better for you?

Bingo
Higher fat bloats me, performance lacks, energy lacks, and my overall attitude/focus is worse with a higher fat diet
i carb cycled for a year to find what works best for me macro/kcal wise (adjusting carbs/fats) from both a deficit and surplus standpoint and took notes on my body and saw what worked better.

now i stick high carb year round. Just adjust my carb intake based off goal, when i diet down ill throw in extra refeeds/cheats to help spike t3, leptin, hormone levels to help increase fatloss/weightloss

Same here with higher fat, but **** it man I like my chili,

PS you don't need a cheat meal to spike leptin anymore

Just 5mg melatonin taken with carbs it will increase leptin expression

I remember you saying that elsewhere, recommended with the last meal of the day, correct?

Carbs still have an effect on leptin , and it does raise it. Read any of Lyle McDonalds books, it shows you how it helps add leptin levels especially long term dieting.

Of course they do, they always will. But have you read this?

Leptin and insulin function together, once leptin binds to its respective receptor on the pancreas, it halts insulin production.

thats exactly why i brought it up. Its one of the main factors for raising leptin levels, its one of the major things that falls during dieting hence why refeeds are such a drastic impact on weightloss/fatloss and always will be.

My take home point was, if dieting, and calories are becoming an issue close to contest, just add melatonin to already pre determined macros for dinners

May reduce the need for refeeds or cheats.

the individual should be refeeding thats the thing, especially closer to a contest, the individual should already be in shape 1-2 weeks out and filling out or eating more into their show . Called getting ready early :)

I don't think you understand what in saying,

Together, carbs plus melatonin, may mimic the action of a refeed

Thus leading to better conditioning without the refeed or cheat increasing average weekly cals

who says the increased kcals would not lead to better conditioning? thats what iam trying to address
an increase in kcals after prolonged dieting will rev metabolism (especially sometimes for a week) and help fill t he competitor out and make them look better.

ever hear of a reverse? some people add kcals and continue to lose weight. Thats why i bring it up. Many people and contest prep coaches do this. and fill them out for their show early by increasing kcals the last 1-2 weeks overall and leads to better conditioning

yes i get what you are saying. i dont think you get what i am saying.

Let's not derail the thread fellas.

Indeed! A very interesting concept though, so hopefully carries over into another thread:)

In other news, finally tried mixing the Cookies n Cream with SnickerDoodle last night and all is right with the world.
