I utilized my family support systems including RegisterJr , and now I am posting it here for support. I know several of you have been through some if this before.

Joining in the support for you Drew. I kind of know what you are going through as I'm the support for my son in the Navy that is a recovering alcoholic. When he falls off the wagon, a little piece of my heart dies. I so want him to be happy and healthy in his life that it hurts inside. I can tell you that this feeling is true for all your family members. Every one of them want you to be happy and healthy. Please brother-in-iron, put down the drink, hug the person that you love and pick up a dumbbell instead.

Thanks guys. I made it through the weekend. Went to visit family down in Florida today, just got back and putting the kids and ourselves to bed.

Back at ii first thing in the morning.
 
So I got in later than I expected. I also got something else unexpected. My wife did insanity with me. Epic.

The workout was later, about 1600ish. So I only took 1/2 scoop of Volatile. I tried to get my wife to drink some, but not yet.
This is the first high intensity cardio that I have done with Volatile. And I have to say that I am impressed. Stamina was crazy, focus was crazy, and I got some decent vascularity and pumps showing from it.
I would venture to say that 1/2 scoop is optimal for any high intensity training.
Going for shoulders and back tomorrow with my bro, gonna kill it.

We all fall down sometimes Drew, but it's deciding to get back up that means everything. You know you've got all of us here to talk with, & you have to also know that there's a LOT of people that have gone through the same thing. My dad drank for 20-30yrs & has been sober for 25-26. YEARS. And he tells me that he lives every single day one day at a time, one prayer at a time. Strength is a decision, & it's deep down inside everyone if they're willing to take it.

That's awesome she wanted to work out with you! Next time I do cardio I'll try that 1/2 scoop. I usually just have a scoop of Endurance.

Bumpity bump, no workout today.
I went to work at 0600 and got off at 1900. 13 hours of fun, and I am beat. No significant injuries, but I do have some cool pictures.

This one is an Airborne student that went too far off of the DZ, an got himself stuck in a tree. Scraped his leg when a branch took off the seat of his pants. Luckily he had boxers on, but you can't see that side from this pic.

Yeah, Ranger Training Brigade recently acquired 1-507th (Airborne School), so we have a squad that covers Airborne, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder. Not super eventful, but I like watching these guys jump. And when they do get hurt, it is usually pretty serious.
 
that's pretty awesome. i think i told you before, my bro-in-law is one of the jumpmasters there. He still gets a kick out of shoving the first timers out lol. He's out of country now though, say a little prayer for him to get home safe again. This is his 11th deployment to the combat zone.

11 deployments is outstanding. I hope he is handling everything well. Most soldiers past 6 deployments end up with some permanent mental stress. Then again, some have it after 1.
 
How much longer do you have until your done?

Out of the Army done? I have no idea. Could be 3 months, could be 6-9. I will know more in a few weeks. I am in no rush to get out, because I can't start at WMU until summer or fall. But I am not trying to stay any longer than I have to.

My right elbow/forearm is still killing me at the beginning of these bicep workouts. I tried 30's on the first set and couldn't even get them up from the pain, but the pain goes away and away I go.

I will be hitting the gym tomorrow morning because I will be going in to the Company for some biz.
 
If it lets you do the compound work I'd skip biceps entirely for a bit. What's gonna make you bigger - being able to do rows that will indirectly maintain your biceps, or bicep curls that won't do **** for your back when you're too injured to row?

When I'm in off-time I usually don't even work them lol. It's all big basics besides a few select isolations on weak areas.

He's made for the work. I'm sure he has some issues in private but he's pretty well adjusted about everything. He's a unique individual

Ok, I can dig it. I do like doing biceps because of the pump, but I don't know what is up with my joint.
I can bag the biceps, just do rows and chins. Even with all of my off time lately, I still have that damn pain. I feel like something isn't right in there. Probably going to go in and see about getting an MRI.

Nobody got huge arms without a lot of attention to them. But better that you can do the important stuff like squats, presses, rows, chins, deads, etc than have to miss them for a half-assed bicep routine cuz your elbow is screaming no.
 
I notice that when you do your 10 sets when you don't hit 10, you are dropping the weight. You don't need to do that. If you go 30's on the alternating curls and for example on sets 7-10 you hit 8,7,6,6 its all good. You will build to it.

And once you get to the point where you can do 10x10 on a certain weight, increase that weight the next time you train is how I understood doing it

Ok. Sounds legit. I was getting caught up trying to hit my reps. But here's the thing, for bicep curls I can hit 10x10 with 25's. I still get a burn, because I squeeze like a mofo and my negs are like 5 sec. But at 30 I have trouble with the first set because of the elbow joint pain.
I guess I get it, I will get stronger at some point and hit 10x10 on the 30's, which is substantial.

Man I don't know. The pain is persistent for me, even after not using it. My medical opinion is some type of internal derangement of a tendon or ligament. I can almost palpate the pain, deep inside my elbow joint. We'll see how it goes, I will stop curls for a bit.

Yep that's exactly how mine felt. Doc said it was from overuse. Damn tendinitis!
 
Yeah, that is uncomfortable. And I can't even hold my girls with that arm, or lift anything awkward above my head. Forget trying to pick up a patient. I am a liability out here today! ;)

yeah sounds like some tendonitis, lay off of barbell movements involving pronated grip for a while and it will go away.

I really had to plow through this workout good. We had a babysitter coming so we could go do some Christmas shopping.
I am impressed that I got it all in.
I will be tightening my diet up because my clothes are starting to fit more 'snug'.
No worries though, I know how to cut like a pro.
I don't know if I will workout tomorrow, we may be packing all day.
