PES- Amino IV

Interesting its rare if I get hit. Thanks for letting us know

Yeah I've never had much luck with orders. I would say about 3/5 packages I receive are opened by customs as well.
May be different outside of Ontario

I wonder if its the amount you're ordering too? I normally can get packages that only have one item in them, with no tracking, through customs just fine. As soon as I order a larger package, searched and tax to be paid. Oh, and NEVER use UPS - they ALWAYS charge tax and duty. Not sure about Fedex, that's why I asked.

Quite possibly it is my order size, it isnt cost effective for me to order often so I let my cart build up

2 questions:

I already take 2g taurine post workout with one serving recover pro... How much taurine is in a serving of amino iv? (Aprox)

If not being used as in intra workout... Is is worth it to use amino iv as I mentioned above? As an immediate post workout before the post workout meal (on the drive home basically)

Yes, it will help recovery postworkout (see coop's corner #5). + EAAs and HICA of course. I've read your posts about taurine as of late and you don't seem to understand how it works. I'd just stop taking 2g postworkout altogether. Use it preworkout or not at all

Or intra-workout as you're recommending with Amino IV :p

Also, any comment on why the label says '15g aminos' when the 15g prop blend has 3 non-amino ingredients in it?

Modestly related, is there any sort of official review process companies go through for label compliance and accuracy? Like, does a companies liability insurer or lawyer generally review those sorts of things?

Or is that just a sort of varies by company sort of thing.

P.S. Welcome Back.

"Take taurine after training rather than before because this will help rebuild muscle glycogen, as it improves insulin sensitivity and will activate GABA, a calming neurotransmitter so that you can relax and recover."

That will be changed on future labels I think. As for the rest of your Qs, you're asking the wrong guy. Thanks for the welcome bro

You'd be wise to never follow his supplementation advice. Ever. If you read the Amino IV writeup, we cite the same exact journal. That's why taurine is in the EAA blend. The doses and logic behind poliquin's conclusions are loaded with fallacies. Improving insulin sensitivity (which is not a direct effect of taurine) and boosting GABA levels will not improve recovery. In short, pick your sources wisely in the future.

For sure.. I trust your judgement over someone I've never even interacted with. Just wanted to show you I wasn't pulling it out of thin air (for once) lol

Oh I know, just stay away from his site. He recommends several unsafe/extreme practices regarding supplementation.

Taurine is a great ingredient for a variety of purposes, just not what you listed.

Coop can u comment on the inclusion of p5p in the formula in regards to prolactin, serotonin, and dopamine. I cannot recall the source but I read too much of the p5p form of b6 can cause issues (dont remember what they were) especially if used chronically. So would one want to cycle this and/or be wary of using other sources of p5p?

Ched, I really encourage you to read the writeup for Amino IV on the PES website. There are citations for everything you have mentioned so far.

P5P was included because it has 2 human studies showing that it improves body composition when supplemented alongside leucine. The dose of P5P in this product does not warrant cycling.

I swear I did twice (on nutra not PES site. Going there now) :-|

Quick question. I can't keep a Protein Shake down post workout (always comes right back up) so I usually drink bcca blend with carbs post workout. I see the main idea for Amino IV is to be taken intra workout. Any benefit to taking this post workout for recovery instead of a protein shake.

Absolutely. It is much preferred to just BCAAs + carbs actually.

No need for Post-Workout, Food overlap from pre-workout meal and intra-workout BCAA (Amino) you will be fine. save it for pre/intra. That is unless you cannot eat post-workout. If you cant stomach a shake, why not go home and wait and have a meal?

I workout fasted except for a pre workout (C4 or PNI Prodigy) and I drink Omega Sports Strive intra

Makes sense, still your intra-workout amino will hold you over
I do the same.. workout fasted take 1 scoop pre , 1 scoop intra (as per Coopers advice) first meal when i get home.

Those 30-45 minutes wont cause you to be a catabolic state and lose muscle :) as some of the bro's may think!

I agree but I was still doing Amino IV BBlast with BR Enhanced and 2 scoops A.I.V. Intra. Now I may switch to 1 scoop CL with RL AlphaMine and 2 Agmatines with 3 Yok3d for a pre or AM and High Volume.

You're using a scoop of amino iv pre and a scoop intra? So u split the full serving and guzzle one before u hit the gym and then sip one while you're there?

I personally use it first thing in the morning and pre workout. I don't like intra anything.tried intra before...not my cup of tea. Plus its insanely bad for your teeth. I feel 60 to 200 carbs pre workout do a better job than an intra.

So pre workout, if I'm using condense or another powder pre workout... Should I take it all together? Or take one or the other first? The aminos won't keep the pre from hitting my system?

Depends on the taste brother and no. It won't effect it.

Together. Taking an intra wont hold back the effects of a pre-workout

Exactly
this is exactly how cooper suggested taking it for fasted training.

Ey ey..mr solution. It will hold back the taste.

Amino iv blueberry with high volume pink lemonade is bad. I would rather drink the 2 separate.

Then mix seperate
i always try to compliment my things i mix

For instance.

Blueberry Amino IV + Core ABC Blue Raz + Cellucor Blue Raz Creatine
CL Amino + Lemonade Hemavol + Blue Raz C4 or pineapple C4

works like a charm.

Nah. I down it like a champ but I'm going to start mixing separately.

Do taurine and beta alanine compete for absorption? If so, how would one use amino iv AND beta alanine pre workout?

Wouldn't be able to do b-alanine pre-workout if dosing Taurine/AminoIV.

I've stopped dosing mine pre-workout and now dose B-Alanine morning and late night.

Saturation of the taurine/BA transporter is pretty much a non-issue if you're dosing BA properly (spread throughout the day with meals, as shown by overwhelming evidence).

Ok... Then idk why people say to take them apart. I'm not sitting in my room choking down tubs of BA powder daily... I'm saying a typical dose found in a pre workout (like condense) or in SNS beta alanine capsule/powder... Combined with amino iv pre workout.

So the the question becomes when to really dose beta alanine since all these products' directions say to dose pre workout. Now, we should all know to split the doses and take with food... Just seems like the recommendations are always changing now, it's quite hard to keep up.

BAs effects are chronic, not acute.

I don't know of any reason to use it preworkout besides convenience.

Yea, the build up of carnosine...

One good reason to dose it all pre workout is bc I don't like walking around my office or meeting with clients while scratching my ears and nose and fingers like a crack head.. Can't speak for anyone else.

But ok. When using amino iv, I will find a way to get my BA in at other times of the day. Problem solved

Split up your doses or take it with food.

Ahem! I was the first European customer. I think the second was the guy who won it on my Facebook page. :D

Not received mine. Scotland here. Bet I get taxed!

How many did you buy?

I wonder if you can do Amino IV in hot water as you are in such a cold climate? ;)
