He is a bit of an obscure figure in rock history but a very accomplished guitarist. Kid Rock stole some riffs from that very song (as well as Lynard Skynard). The video itself was "fan made" it is not a reflection on Zevon, hope you at least enjoyed the tune, even if it is more than a bit before your time.
 
When the music started playing I thought it was the Kid Rock version.

LOL. I have the opposite issue with the Kid Rock song. I hear the opening measures and think "Oh Cool, werewolves of London" only to be disappointed, thinking "Screw you Kid Rock, damn rip off artist, come up with your own stuff!"

Nate Dogg passed away a few years ago. Snoop Dogg is still alive, but goes buy Snoop Lion or something now.
