1ifeblood Breaks On Through to the Other Side!

I just got all caught up, learnt a lot in these first few pages - but also feeling a tad gay from the experience... eesh.

Well, my friends... last night was my last night for drinking alcohol for awhile. My wife and I are going out for our anniversary at the end of the month and after that I begin my cycle, which I definitely won't be drinking on. Maybe a glass of red wine here and there but not the weekly drunk fests I've been doing all summer. It's time to get my mind set for this journey. No fûcking around! I have my diet set and there will be no deviating from it except for the specific adjustments that will be made. And speaking of which, I'm going to put up what I'll be eating on a daily basis into my first post, so I would appreciate any feedback you gurus can offer. I'm also thinking about changing my workout to a M/T/Th/F push/pull split. I'll use the same exercises I'm doing now in order to judge my progression, but will include more sets. I don't know, I'll probably wait to see how my workouts go once I'm on before making that decision.

I've never used the push pull program so many are using. I just like to concentrate on certain areas when I train and being a high volume kinda guy it just doesn't tickle my fancy. I'll be watching though. And talking shyt wherever is needed :p

I'd wait and decide how to set up your training as you go. On one hand you may recover much more quickly and be able to bump up the frequency and/or volume, but on the other hand you may find that your workouts leave you more sore being more powerful while on if that makes sense. No need to over think these things. Just roll along and make changes as you go. I think you'll know what to do when the time is right. :)

Thanks Classy, I was pretty much figuring the same thing but I'm having a hard time NOT thinking about it lol.

so many ways to structure the training
sure, there are some instances where a certain format of training will benefit you a bit more than others, with certain goals in the picture..generally tho, ppl think too much about this and get lost in the structure -- while the important part is everything else like intensity, consistency in both training and dietary approach

myself, I embrace constant change in my training styles/formats, rarely staying in a set plan beyond 4-6 weeks periods and most time more like 3

hey 1ifeblood - i was watching a bit of the little league world series tonight, and was surprised to see team playing from urbandale IA
been there a few times (small suburb that is really part of des moines) - in fact, i saw Rocky IV in the theater when it first came out, in urbandale, circa late 1985/early 86 i believe
crazy, these smaller towns/suburbs that put together these teams and play in WS pretty frequently..is surprising

I think it has a lot to do with the work ethic mostly found in the Midwest. Growing up on farms and learning the results from hard work at an early age, tends to create the mindset that if you work hard and stay disciplined, you can achieve anything. Combine that with kids growing up desperately wanting to be more than just a farm kid, and you've got yourself a championship team lol.

I'm using push pull format right now and really enjoying it 1ife. Can't wait until you get this bad boy going!

when's the big day?

Monday, September 2nd. T minus 12 days and counting! I would start now but I don't want to be worried about the strain I'll put on my liver combining dbol, test, and alcohol. Since my wife and I are going out for our anniversary that Saturday, there will be plenty of drinking involved.

Don't worry guys, the Queen and I are going on 11 years this year and every year we are excited to celebrate our Anniversary. Probably our favorite thing to celebrate. Just depends on if you not only love but like each other and keep things fresh.

I am soured on the whole concept - apparently, so are over 50% of the rest of americans too (divorce rate in US)

My last marriage lasted 9 years to a girl I was with for 5 years prior. The woman I'm married to now is just AWESOME! We've been together for 4 years and living together for 3. Things just keep getting better!
Congrats guys!

My wife and I hung out together with a group of mutual friends pretty regularly for over a year before we ever started dating. We were friends well before the notion of building a relationship developed...granted I ALWAYS had the hots for her. But she was only 21 years old (I was 32), SEXY, and just one cool chica, and I was just some divorced guy with three kids (who happened to be her boss lol). Imagine my surprise when she told me how much she liked me! Thanks to all the D-bags that treated her so poorly, once she saw how a man was supposed to treat a woman...I had her hooked for life!

My second was last week...

Man thats a shame! Im sorry to hear that bud! On the flip sode of that thought 50% of marriages wont end and are successful. I love my wife to death. We definately dont see eye to eye on 90% of our issues bit the 10% we do agree with are the important issues.

Bit if i was your wife i wouldnt divorce you snags, )

I think there were a lot more incompatible marriages in the past but they were forced to live with it because divorce was so highly frowned upon. It's more acceptable now so when people realize they are in a relationship with the wrong person, they get out rather than live their lives in misery. But just because it was the wrong person before doesn't mean there isn't a right one. Sh*t bro, knowing what you need in a person to make a lifelong relationship work is a pretty f*cking hard thing to do first try. We barely know OURSELVES when we make the decision, and usually for the wrong reasons; pregnancy, convenience, fear of being alone, or one I see a lot of people doing - using marriage to revitalize a failing relationship. But when you find that one that makes you forget about all the other sh*t you've had to endure with other relationships, you'll know you've got something real.
