Airborne's Quest to PowerLifting (and whatever he's on ATM)

Frank Reynolds said:
It is actually really easy, probably one of the easier spots. I am sure harder if you aren't lean enough to see it well, and don't know where it is.

Rock back and forth, you should see it poppin.

You heard wrong. Real men pin directly into the heart. That is when you know you have achieved boss status.

I always thought boss status was pinning HCG into your p hole? Straight to the source right?

My coach also brought to my attention the deadlift thing

Frank Reynolds said:
What are you referring to? Inconsistency's with the deadlift?

Na man, bosses don't need HCG.

Yes I brought it up to ask him. He hasn't been here for all my DL sessions due to his kids football games... But he said I should be going heavy every other week and on weeks not to do stuff like speed pulls, deads off the block, heavy stiff leg... Etc.

Get that sweet åss home ;] Mmmhmmm.

Gonna do some heavy barbell shrugs and ill be home.

We just got a new shrug bar and my coach wants me to hit 600+ :-l

Great shoulder workout! No pain which means heavy next week!!! New Shrug bar kicked ass but harder then standard barbell.

Ok so I totally read the scale wrong yesterday or somethin... I'm +12 pounds empty. I'm more dense with a little bit of size. Wife pointed out a web of new stretch marks. Definitely feel better!

I had the biggest pump in my today which was wierd due to hittin shoulders. Puffy and firm. Not to mention acne I had and new hair growth. Hormonal spurt? :-P

Completely random but trap bar rows are awesome. Did them tonight for the first time.

Oh ****! Welcome brother!!!! It is a kickass bar. More difficult imo

That's the only place my wife pinned my glutes. She's an RN and said all the hospitals have to use VG instead of glute because of the sciatic nerve. She had me nervous as sh1tbthw first time because my hip bones are kinda high lol good spot though and I agree not used enough. Might be kind of hard to get yourself though at first.

I pinned my right glute I think my 2nd pin and ever since I've had a sharp pinch pain. I am taking this week off to c if it gets better but don't think it is. You think I could've hit something when I pinned? Its painful as ****, I can still do deads heavy but it agrevates me bad.

Thanks bro glad to be here! Gotta scan through the rest of the log! :D

Haha word brother!!! Grats on the new rep position btw!!!

Is the pain in the top of your ass, where it ties into your low back?

Well considering a lot is glycogen

Eh still though! Maybe kleen or frank can answer this...what's maximin muscle growth rate? I've always seen around 1 lb a week of actual muscle is max steroids or not. Is there any truth to this?

I think that is a personal thing and also has to do with size however if we are talking weight in myofibers then that is a lot of growth. However sarcoplasmic growth I don't think anyone can say what the human limit is. Is would have to say a larger person has more muscle fibers to fill with sarcoplasm and mitochondria so if they were not approaching their genetic limits then a 6'4 man of 240 could gain more than a 5'8 180 lb man. Either way I would not scoff at 12 lbs of mass in 4 weeks regardless. Remember he has already pushed his self for major growth before. You don't typically repeat those types of gains.

This is very Informative! I need tp jot this stuff down in a journal

Haha I rotate in order

I probably would too if I had someone to pin for me!!! Try pinning your own ass and worry about hitting something. Especially when you don't have an ass!!!! I can't believe my pin when I was 165 didn't hit something. I went pretty high and fed the needle the entire 1.5. Lol! At least now I have a bit of cushion with the weight gain.

Haha she just sticks... I tell her where to poke. It is Hella hard to hit the yourself tho even to inject haha she has to hold in place while I aspirate and ject. Only I want to do those parts haha

I bet it stems from your tight hip flexors/piriformis/psoas. I was just telling Valdez yesterday I tweaked my low back on my left side due to this same thing. I have been slacking on mobility work, and doing a ton of lower body volume, and my hips are tight as ****.

Try doing this for the piriformis. It hurts like hell so you may want to start with a tennis ball. Also try to do some stretches that stretch the piriformis(leg crossed lean forward).

Some more stretching(the one at the end is good for that area)

Can also do this on the ground with your rear foot just straight behind you. Just leverage yourself so you feel it stretching your psoas.(Invalid Link Removed)

I would wager if you did this right now, you would feel it pulling/stretching near the area that is bothering you.

Thanks Frank! That's exactly where it is. Piriformas excercise I think will help. Gunna get me a tennis ball. Yeah its discomforting when I bend over sometimes having to favor one side more. I will give it a go, just glad its something excercising can help. I will keep ya posted on how its working!

Get a tennis ball, and a lacrosse ball.. Once the tennis ball is too easy, go for the lacrosse ball. Right now the lacrosse ball just about makes me cry..hah

That's funny! I have the lacrosse ball but haven't sacked up to use it yet. (looking in mirror questioning manhood) Lol

The lacrosse ball is brutal. Serratus Anterior trigger I can't do it in front of my wife.

I do this stretch ^^^ every leg and back day on a flat bench. I also lay my leg out straight so that my ankle is just off the bench and stretch that way as well. Those and the towel stretch have really helped lower back pain and now I have been able to throw dead lifts back in rotation.

I've been really slacking on mobility work. I need to start doing it every day.

Doesn't help that I'm sitting for a large portion of the day.

No doubt I have a hip that is annoying me and need to put it to work with the stretching. Thinking of getting back into MMA the stretching and ground work kept me nice and loose but then again thinking of buying a motorcycle too. Money can only go to one place...

Uhm 4 days a week for 120 a month, new Yamaha Stryker for 129 a month... Wife has been wanting a bike since we got rid of the crotch rocket. No more crotch rockets for me though this bad boy is over 1300 CC and will do anything I want to do.

Funny I was just telling my training partner how loose and flexible I was when I was doing a lot of jiu jitsu. I actually rolled for the first time in about a year the other day and I was so stiff and my cardio was atrocious. Lol Didn't help I was hungover as ****.

I've gained like 30lbs of muscle and an immense amount of strength since I trained last.

Yeah nothing in the world like rolling man. I don't care what anyone says. I have puked more times from rolling than sprinting or squatting it is the most intense anaerobic activity and really pushes the flexibility limits. Honestly real body action is better than any static or ballistic stretching. That being said getting down on you hands and knees with your legs spread as wide as you can then trying to sit back into your hips is one way to REALLY open up the hips, but damn it hurts when you are tight.
