I'm only 19 and I'm married. I'm in the army and normally after work my wife and I go work out together. It keeps both of us in shape and we get to spend time together, as opposed to me going and leaving her at home for an extra hour or two a day.

hmm very interesting, seems your at where ill be in a year at your age lol. but maybe i can get my wife to workout with me? i am fortunate that i workout in my back porch have been buying my own equipment for the past year, i still get the rope attached to each arm and my wife on one side and 1,000 lb dumbbell hanging off a cliff on the other side. plus when i finally go in in January, she will probably like to go to the base workout center with me to have something to do. also hats off to you brother, and god bless!

I'm married, my wife fully supports it. The only thing we butt heads on is diet. Until recently she would never follow the same nutrition plan as me. Now that I went Paleo, she's started it as well and has been loving it. Only thing is we try to have more milk and cheese for our son who is 3. He's still growing so we try to make sure he gets every nutrient he needs.

My wife doesn't eat much so its normally not a problem I just ask what she wants for dinner and cook it and serve it to finish my macros. I cook a good bit of red meat as we are both tired of the chicken from when I was cutting.

Not a BB'er, but have been married for 2 years in September. I am, however, shifting towards competitive PL'ing and the wife fully supports my endeavor and my *ahem* usage.

First off let me say my cover (;)) is off to you for joining the Marines, heck theilitary in general.
I am also in the Marines and im married. My wife trains and pretty much eats like i do so its actualy very easy to make the two work.

If your wife is ok with it then it shouldnt be an issue. I will say though that if she isnt into working out it may cut into your guys personal time as the military will take up a lot of your time.

Good luck

He's right the military (depending on career) really does take all of your weekdays. And some weekends. Your best bet is to try to get her motivated to lift with you

Married never really was the problem for me. Now that I'm married with kids, there's not enough time in the day. I workout during my lunch break, and sometimes catch hell if I want to work out on the weekends. She would love to go to the gym and run on the treadmill while i workout on weekends, but we still have the kids to take care of.

Married 4 years - my wife is my lifting partner and she's stronger than most guys at my gym and easily the strongest woman there. How does you bodybuilding clash with your married life? She's your wife - your partner in life - why would she not want you to strive to improve your health and physique?

married with kids is far harder to get the time in / want to leave the kids than lifting when married and no kids :) well worth it though

Married, no kids though... The wife is totally supportive of my workouts (nudge nudge wink wink), although she was a bit jealous of my results before she got her own plan together & started busting her a$$. Biggest problem for me - diet... Wife's a vegetarian - she'll eat fish & eggs, so that's a bit easier on me, but when I cook I basically have to make 2 different meals

You know spending money on supplements and I try to get her to lift with me but we both work 10 hr graveyard shifts 6 days a week so I normally lift afterwards and she wants to sleep. But I did bring up last night working out together and she like had a differeent mind set like she wanted to give it a try. So idk what happened I think AM somehow had some thing to do with it ;) lol. But I think her biggest problem with it is I want to be like ronnie coleman one day and she doesn't want that, says its gross lol.

You have to find the bodybuilder that doesn't gross her out. For some reason my wife doesn't think Jay Cutler looks strange but most others do. So im gonna look like Jay Cutler. :P

My wife hates everything about it. She says all supplements are stupid and don't do anything, says there's no reason for me to get bigger or stronger, and spends all the grocery money on foods that won't do anything but hurt my physique. This website is pretty much the only support I have when it comes to my training.

Being in shape is important for our job. If you're like most everyone else in the Army, what you do during PT isn't enough to get you to where you ought to be. I personally want to be in the best possbile shape I can be, so I can be an example to my soldiers. More than a couple soldiers have started to workout with me and my buddy during our lunches. I'm with you though, my wife thinks supplements are a waste of money....

Any time she starts saying my training is dumb I ask her if she wants me to get ambushed by insurgents and get killed cuz I'm out of shape. She says that's a little extreme lol. So, I point out that my PT score equals promotion points and she leaves me alone. Right now I'm in the reserves so Im on my own for the PT. Next year I'm hopin to go active tho so maybe then I'll find some workout partners. As far as the supps, I either wait for her to buy a few dumb things and then get something, or I pout for a couple days until she gives in haha.

LOL..... Sounds like my wife. Been married 14yrs. In the beginning, she would accuse me of cheating on her. Going to the gym all the time, and hooking up with some hottie. Always had to reassure her that wasn't the case. Then she joined up as well.
To the OP, thanks for serving in the military, and to all you servicemen and woman, for defending this great country!!
