well i'm getting my first tat this summer, just decided on it today. i was going to get a matching tat with my girl but wrist tattoos are GAY on men imho. anyway i decided on getting one in the space right below my neck between my traps, mainly so it won't distort (just started running dymethazine and hoping to gain serious mass). sound legit? as in it won't distort? otherwise where else can i get one (no wrist or ankle responses please lol).

I really don't understand the attraction of putting permanent ink on your body. Is it because you want people to look at you?.

I don't have a tattoo or plan on getting one but t-bone I see your posts time and time again and you are such a downer. I feel bad for you for real! Lol

Not trying to be a downer. I just don't understand why anyone would want to do this. I don't get it is all. Maybe it's because I'm older than most of the folks on this board.

I just don't understand the purpose of a tattoo. Also what makes it worth the money?. Why?

it's just artwork, i mean why do people bodybuild? it's the same concept. not trying to say people with tattoos are automatically the **** ya know, but i just think it'd be pretty badass to have some ink on me.

i was thinking about getting one like pudzian around my bicep but i have THICK stretch marks on it and i think it'd **** it up haha.

oh crap, forget i can't use profanity here haha. bad habit.

What's the point of benching 400#, having 4% bodyfat, driving a corvette, or combing your hair in the morning?

Personalities differ, as do tastes in food, tattoos, piercings, hairstyles, etc. Why ask?

Lol. I'm half sleeved on both arms and the center of my back is done from hairline to belt. But that's just because I'm insecure. I'm not exactly a "kid" at 37either.

To the OP: if the tattoo is properly placed on your body it should "grow" with you just fine. That said the center of your back may not "distort" as much as other areas. It's also a decent spot for a first tattoo as you can keep it hidden if need be. You know, in case youre in a room full of tbone. :D

Fock what t-bone thinks get that sh1t across your face bro! Power to the non up tight people of the world!

LMAO! man i missed the sense of humor on this site!

I wasn't trying to be a wise ass at all. Just was wondering what makes you want to get one, being inquisitive. That's all.

Well, the thing is I'm not referring to this in general. I've noticed you are VERY "old school" to say the least. I think you recently said you were 39 years old but I could swear you are pushing 50-55 with the way you come across on a lot of the threads. Not trying to be an ass by any means but it is a very negative way of portraying yourself. Once again this topic is just one of the ones that I've had this thought come to me on. Sometimes when I read your post's I think why the hell would he even comment if that's what he is saying?

To further add to the topic you put is it worth the money. Lets say you get a $200 tattoo that will mean something to you and you will have for life. That is so cheap compared to a dinner out that will cost you 75-100 dollars that you sh1t out 24 hours later. Some tattoos are very meaningful and to the person well worth that initial pitiful couple hundred dollars. Maybe I'm just not a tight wad but working a few hours overtime to get something "extra" for yourself isn't much of a deal to most people....

Lol i was thinking the same thing but didnt wanna post anything cuz i didnt want to offend a well respected poster but thats just t-bone's style i guess and i respect that :) carry on...

You come across with a condescending attitude at times and that can be annoying, for cereal. No offense, just sayin dude.

OP: My advice is to wait a year and if you still want it, go for it. It'll be on you for your whole life and a whole hell of a lot more people regret their tattoos than there are people who love them. Consider what kinda career you're going for. Will your tattoo hinder you in getting a job? What kinda chick do you see yourself settling down with? Think she might not like that kinda thing? Still think you'll like it when you're 50? Lots of things to consider, and a lot of time to consider them...I'm glad I waited to get mine, because believe me I've had some really stupid ideas and changed my mind. Good luck with it, and research well where you will get it and who will give it to you...don't be afraid to say no and walk away.

Lol. No Tyson ink for me thanks! :p

I just don't understand the purpose of a tattoo. Also what makes it worth the money?. Why?

There are many reasons, man. Each one is personal. For many, it's just something fun. Sometimes those people are what we call "dumbazzes". For others, though, it is something to be artistic, for body decoration, or often for rememberance of something important. My mother got an angel on her shoulder when her mother died, and another one facing it when her father died. My sister has a very large cross on her lower back to commemorate them both. It is cover up of something stupid, but it's good now and very sentimental to all of us, especially me considering I designed it.

For me, I do it to mark certain occasions. I currently have 5 tats in different places. Each one means something or marks an occasion. My first is a tribal armband, left arm, between bi/tri and shoulder heads. It is the graphic on my guitar - a link to my roots as a musician. My second tat is a mokawked skull on my right outter calf with a goatee that runs down my leg and the word "Wicked" intertwined in it. That's my connection to my bike, which is very very important to me. My third, 3 digits on my left wrist, very small. Code for something very personal that I don't divulge. Tat 4, "1-17" on my right wrist - my chapter number for the bike club. I'm president and founder, so this one is about the brotherhood. My 5th tat is on my left forearm, underside. It is a ripped skin tat with clockwork gears and such inside. In itself, it doesn't have to much meaning in the design. But, it does have great meaning in the process of it. I did this one MYSELF. I bought a tat kit, learned the ropes, and this is the first tat I've done on a human being. So yeah, I like tats, and I'm going to spread the love by doing them on other people!

Getting ink into stretchmarks or scars can HURT. Just a warning to ya. Experience here, bro!

Depending on what it is, your back might be a good place. It's not like getting a dolphin on your peck and it turning out to be a blue whale when you get old, fat, and have man-boobs. :)

A tattoo shop.

Best place to get a tattoo? Get it? :D

I prefer my dining room table! :)

Shame you don't live in the UK my mate has a tattoo shop, he done this on me the other week:
