So what is your take on it all, Ike? I know it says it's lawful and I know that even if 1,3 dmaa was pulled, from what I read, it was the synthetically created form that would be illegal and naturally occurring states from geranium would be fine. Granted, how that's proven could be a nightmare and be enough for most companies to move on and scrap it. Regardless of all of that, though, it wouldn't be the first time the government did something that completely went against what was lawful or right.
I'm curious what someone with your knowledge and someone in your position thinks will unfold. Other e-tailers have definitely been trying to unload products containing 1,3 dmaa.
I cannot comment freely on the matter, due to my affiliation with USPlabs. As things stand, however, there is no ban yet. The companies involved have a brief time window to react.

Even if it is a constituent of geranium oil, which is iffy, i believe there is no way no how that the total worldwide growth of geraniums for a year would yield as much DMAA as sits in one G.N.C. store.
I sort of get the FDA's point though. If you have to take in (just throwing a number out) 2000 pounds of geranium petals to get the 25mg of DMAA, its reasonableness as "part of the food chain" isn't there. What is considered a standard dose is impossible to reach dietarily, 1% of standard dose is impossible to reach dietarily.
I'm not saying i agree with them doing it, but I understand it. I think what will happen is there will be no real direct ban on DMAA, but that the FDA will hassle all the major companies enough that it will disappear out of major retailers and only small companies will risk making a product with it.
I agree with everything you said.
I don't think that means the government has any right to pull it, but as far as its classification as a food or not, I can understand that argument.
