Gym went better than expected, good lifts and no pain.
leg press 1 x 20 @ 100
2 x 10 @ 200
crunch 3 x 20 @ 200
1 x 15 @ 150
1 x 10 @ 100
pull downs
wide grip 6 x 10 @ 140
narrow 3 x 6 @ 180
curls 10 x 10 @ 35
( preachers bench )
dead lift 1 x 1 @ 360
I was good with the results, more rest time between sets, curls were upper half only with no pain. Long way to go, I'll just keep it light and add one new item to my workout each day.

Hey OG,
How long do you spend at the gym each day with your workouts?
When I had a personal trainer, one hour was plenty, but when I work now with 3 or 4 minutes between sets, an hour isn't enough. I think I need to get more effecient or wake up earlier.

My workouts are about 1 hr 15 min. I run 3 minutes between sets seems to work best for me.

Life is starting to get back to normal, Maybe this week things will settle down. I can state for a fact it's taking longer to heal than it use to ! I can still make the lift if I get this arm to heal up and finish training. I had to cut the diet, abort the cycle and get things to balence out while the arm gets back to normal.

Going to hit the gym in the morning. It's time to start getting back into the swing of things, I can't stand this sitting around waiting. Eight more days until my doctors appt. and I get the word on the arm. It's a little better than it has been, going to give it another try.
I had lunch with a young lady who wants to help train me, we were at a buffet. She said who ever eats the most wins, loser buys...ok, free lunch. Yea, for her, that 131 lb. 5' 4" ate like a NFL linebacker...LOL I just reached for her check.

And.. And... How did the workout go?

5'4 and 131.... I hope she's muscular. A little gal like that out scarfed you? I'm sure you let her win. No use over stuffing yourself, then being unhappy about it later.

Arm is shutting me down still, what a pain. Oh yea muscular, can you say female kick boxer, her idea of cardio is running full bore on a treadmill for an hour. I ate about 4 lbs of roast, 1.5 lbs of potatoes, 6 large dinner rolls, a medium plate of sea food, enough salad to make a cow happy, about a half pound of cottage cheeze, 3 glasses of ice tea. She ate the same as I did, but she did 2 more plates of sea food, and tore up a german choc cake, large bowl of icecream. Yes she out scarfed me hands down ! I asked for a second chance, told me to bring my wallet the next time she is due a cheat meal.

TT- doctors appt. went fine, she said the arm is healing, however I need to act my age when I'm in the gym. LOL, what is normal ! Monday is back in the gym, lower weight and higher reps giving it more time settle down. At least I got the green light to get back at it, thats a plus. Nothing like being able to lift again...priceless.

That's great news that your arm is getting better! Even though we're older and wiser, I think we're more prone to injury.

A good nights sleep is hard to get right now. My mothers alzheimers and my dads rapid onset dementia is keeping me very busy. This will be their last Christmas at the old homestead after 45 years. Next week I'll be hitting the gym, spending time with them daily and then the 40 minute drive to work. Pull a 10 shift, drive back home, eat sleep and start all over again, maybe 6 hours sleep at best.
Tomarrow, I think I will set the new workout up, get the log started and make some adjustments in the old diet. I had a long talk with my doctor about my trt, she admitted that the lab, like most had lowered the range from 280>1100 to 280>827 ng/dl. Off the record, she in brief explained the changes since the steroids laws went into effect. Boy that was an eye opener, now I know why my urologist changed my dose when I was 830ng/dl. I'm going to have to study and read up on this information. That is when I get some extra time, whatever that is ?
My old friend, the ex-powerlifter told me at work today, that as soon as I get my life back in balence and time issues resolved, that we can train together every other saturday. I'd like to get some new input and a break from the same old workout pattern.

TT- thanks for the PM, Today is reset day, diet back up and running. Tomarrow it's back in the gym, can't wait, it's been to long. Arm feels a lot better, a little bit weak but it's going to be okay. LOL the wife thinks that I can just pin myself, hit the gym and go for it. She's back in the kitchen, today it's 5 meals, 1.5 lbs of chicken breast, .5lb of fruit and .5lb. of fresh veggies, cottage cheeze and a gal of water. Toss in a protien shake, a quick breakfast before I run over to mom and dads each morning. (Just divide it up over the day.)

I had to explain that I can't pin, flip the switch to on position and run a full cycle. I have to cruise on TRT, diet and low weight lifts and give the arm more time to hit the 100%. I don't want another set back on this injury. Before she left for work she set my gym bag by the front door, hint...hint tomarrow is the day.

First day back went smooth, forearm a little bit stiff other than that, everything went better than I thought. Set it up to run in 30 minutes, wide grip pull downs..1 x 10 @ 140lbs, close grip pull downs..1 x 10 @ 160lbs, Preacher bench..1 x 10 @45lbs, shrugs..1 x 10 @ 270lbs. That's the last set of everything I did. Preachers bench...gasp ! that's the only thing that made the arm hurt, kept the weight low. At least I have a starting point, tomarrow I'm going to bump the time up to one hour and see how it's feeling after tomarrows push and pull day.

Friday was a full workout. One of those that when you walk out of the gym, it's OH YEA..! Spent the entire weekend working outdoors, my sister takes over on the weekend, so I can get away from mom and dad on a couple of days. I hate to say it, I look forward to a time out.

I'm only 20lbs. off from lifting a full rack on the nautlis machine, as TT said the thrill of max weight on a machine. I just need to take my time getting there...! I will have to post entire workout later this week when I have enough time.

'good to hear you had a full workout on Friday. I had a similar workout on Sunday, and could barely move by the end of the day.

I'm glad you are able to take some time off on the weekends. Unless somebody's been there before, it's hard for people to imagine how draining it can be.

Keep up the good work!

Things are changing fast and now I may have a new job offer coming in. Nothing like being offered 2.5 times your yearly pay. The things I could do for dad, it would make things a little bit easier.

Time off is over, back to harder workouts...going to extend the workouts to 1.5 hours, it's time to go all out.

Diet changes went into full swing this week, starting to feel a lot better overall. Spending more gym time doing some rehab on the arm to see how much improvement, so far so good. Power and strength doing cable pull downs has increased, I may decide to do a TT and work towards pulling the entire rack. I may have to make that a goal just to get to get thru this rehab, boring as all ....! BP has been near 119/71 HR 65 must be doing something right.

How very true, this is hell week. I have to spend 2 hours at the eye docs office so she and a group of doctors on staff can take turns doing the exam. Reviewing the positive changes in my sight, since I'm the only older male on injectable TRT, they are going to include me in a study. They have reviewed an older male on transdermal and currently studying one with the pellets under the skin. (implants) She can have me for two hours on week days and a half a day on Saturdays. It's a large eye care center, it's hard to believe that I'm the only one on injectable test e.

I'm going to switch from rehab to full workouts by the end of this week. The goal on my birthday is a little over a month away, it's time to start pushing on towards that goal. Diet is on the mark, everything seems good to go, sleep is doing better so I will kick this off and hope the arm is ready to go. My 5 minutes are up, off to the gym and to stop by dads before work.

It's good to say the eye sight is so much better now. I will have to adjust, but it feels great to be doing this without my glasses.

I only had time to hit the gym twice this week. My arm is almost back to 100% so it's time to go for it. My last workout, I ran one minute between sets, the weight to 50% of max and doubled the reps. It felt really good, so I hit the incline bench and ran a few sets with the 45lb dumbells, no problem with the arm. Friday will be the best day to just fire off and see how hard I can hit it.

I had one of those days in the gym. Mr Jersey Shore was there, I called him that one day when a group of us were talking after we worked out. It stuck, when he's not looking at himself in the mirrors, he's bothering one of the women. He and his group tied up most of the machines So I couldn't do a rapid fire workout. I couldn't get going no burn, pump or drive, it just took to long to use each machine. I just went to a side area and did some rehab and called it a day.

Hey OG.... any updates?
I'm having issues with the arm again. The doctor told me to give it a rest and give it more time to heal ! I'm taking the down time to spend more time with dad and will be filing LLC shortly with the State to restart my old business. The extra money will be used to provide better care for him, it's funny he has a trust set up for me, it's iron clad and he refuses to allow me to access it to provide care for him, hard headed.

I changed my work bid, I walk about 10 miles a day, it's helping my old leg injury and it's getting stronger. Diet is still on the mark, just waiting this out. I plan to hit the gym soon and start working on the legs and core/abs and hope the arm heals, if not I'll end up getting an ultra-sound or something to see whats going on with it.

I failed at my goal today. To many skipped or short workouts taking care of Dad, the stress is taking it's toll. Allergys kicked in due to the rain, so breathing issues didn't help. First two lifts went fine, however at 360lbs I was all in totally drained with no energy. I was standing at the machine getting ready to try 450lbs, I just took the belt off and walked away. I guess in every life a little rain must fall, post lift my blood pressure was 110/71 and bpm 84. Thats the best it's been in years, maybe it's time to cut some BF and try to keep the stress away.

I've got a few years and a few pounds on you but I also like to lift heavy. If I can recover from a mild concussion I had recently, I plan to finish out my goal which was to hit 500 lbs on a rack deadlift for my 70th b-day this October. That said, I have had fantastic success with my joints thanks to doing lots of Cissus and megadosing my Omega 3s (around 2.7 gms ED). Lots of secondary health positives along the way. Good Luck!
Dutchman, I decided to take your advice. I started the cirrus rx a few days ago and I'm starting to notice improvement. I have been loading the omega 3's for sometime now, so I just added in the stinging nettle root and the red yeast rice. I think I will call it the Dutchman stack...nothing is better than taking the advise of someone who knows !

OG, I'm really glad to hear the good news. I love my cissus and plan to take it for the rest of my days, hopefully quite a few decades. Just the combo you mention should help your joints, cholesterol, heart and free testosterone. Now someday let's talk some more about Vitamin D3, Ubiquinol and Astaxanthin LOL.

OG, I had a long post that got deleted explaining this. In short, I would try about 10,000 IUs ED of Vitamin D3. I use 2 gms ED of the Stinging Nettle Root and only 600 mgs ie. 1 cap of the RYR. My wives and friends have all had Docs tell them to take 2 each of the 600 mg caps but I am already down at 155 on my Cholesterol.

I hope these Docs give you some more info:

I haven’t searched the forum for posts on Coconut Oil yet but about 2 months ago I started putting it in the two shakes I drink every work day. I realized whole foods are probably better but in order to get the 3200 kCal./day I need to grow I can’t eat enough “real” food while at work and still function. I am, however, interested in hearing your take on Coconut Oil.

I came across both coconutoil.com and coconutresearch.org in my health reading and came away convinced of a couple things. First the entire vegetable oil and unsaturated fats versus tropical oils and saturated fats thing was/is a completely bogus PR campaign to boost corn, soybean etc oils. There is no doubt today about the danger from hydrogenated fats but few, mostly the coconut oil afficiandoes, are aware of the value of medium chain triglycerides ie MCTs. Coconut Oil combines really well with my megadoses of Omega 3 fats to help me avert Alzheimer's, Cardio and Cancer problems. It also tastes great and since it never turns rancid I can leave it, after opening, in the pantry and it never goes bad. It will solidify sort of lard-like, or turn to pure liquid around 76 degrees IIRC. It doesn't turn toxic when heated and thus becomes great for doing our sunny side up eggs, chicken, oatmeal, whatever. CO also seems to be very helpful in weight management and comes highly recommended for ketogenic diets. Lastly, I love telling folks that my success in the gym is supported by my habit of keeping two extra virgins around the house to serve me, my Coconut Oil and my Olive Oil. I tossed those vegetable whores out long ago along with their phoney PR LOL.

I’ll check out those sites Dutchman. I haven’t cooked with it yet since I was under the mistaken impression it would go bad like most oils when heated. Now I’ve actually got something to cook my breakfast with. I originally came across Coconut Oil researching diets like UD2 for the reasons you mentioned. Other than Fish Oil cap the only other oils I’ve been using are Olive Oil and small amounts of Sesame Oil when I make my own Humus.

Coconut Oil another must try, which testosterone do you use and at what dose. I'm going to be a member of the Dutchman group..LOL ! Anytime you want to jump in with information, please do. I find your posts quite helpful and always to the point !

I'm going to make all the adjustments, diet, supplements and in 90 days after bloodwork set goal and go for it once again. Right now I'm looking for another doctor, mine took my injection levels from .40 ml E3D to .15 ml 2X a week, talk about feeling rough...! I was at 830 mg/ml. Adjust the diet, fix the doctor issue and get ready to lift heavy again with a new goal set.

Dutchman, The cirrus rx worked like a charm, that will be a main stay from now on ! Running the red rice at 2 caps(1200 mg) And the stinging nettle root at 2 caps(1000 mg), the D3 is at 10,000iu. Everything else will remain the same until after the first of the year and my next check up.
The ubiquinol and astaxanthin will kick in around Jan 15th when I fire back up with a new workout plan. The hunt for a new urologist is about to begin, I'm on the fast track to crash and burn...the wife says I'm acting the way I did before I started TRT. I told her acting.. heck I'm feeling it, she wanted to inject me at the old dose and be done with it ! I'm at the bottom of the roller coaster, now the time to get checked out.

If you have any suggestions, dutchman I would enjoy hearing them !

That's great to hear OG! I am a complete believer in Cissus RX. It has helped so many of my friends and family I can't begin to count, seriously. I may not be around much longer, there is a Board Admin with whom I am struggling on another thead in this forum and I don't like his imperial majesty's tone. I am this close to leaving the board rather than listen to him.

Dutchman, what is your view on lowering LDL cholesterol, mine is at 135.4 lab range 0>130. Total is 205, Changing out dietary goals, overall energy is tanked right now. It doesn't help that I feel like I have the flu all the time. HDL is mid-range at 54.5, and RBC is at the top of range +.8. A year ago my total test was 997ng/dl, blood work results were perfect, Urologist lowered the test e, 6 months ago I tested at 830ng/dl with the above numbers. Again he lowered the test e shots and now I feel almost as bad as I did before I started TRT. It's a little bit weird eating like a horse and lifting as a beast, to being exhausted all the time. I asked him on the last visit to run complete bloodwork, he refused, said that we didn't need to ?, total and free T, e levels etc, no he is going to run only the tests above. It's time to go doctor hunting, I am going to find one who can get me stable, and keep me there !

I plan to restart my workouts on Jan. 2nd, changed my test e shots to every four days. Sleep has improved, energy levels are getting a little bit better overall. Cirrus rx has made a major improvement, can't wait to put it to the test in the gym. Stinging nettle root and red yeast rice have been added to the supplements, the next bloodwork will let me know if their working. Weight is holding steady at 185lbs., blood pressure has improved at 114/75 @ 65 bpm. The wife has controlled the diet to the letter, keeping my weight stable during this off time.

New goal hasn't been set, waiting to see what the doc has to say, heading out to the old gym to spend some time watching a pro workout and pick up some more input. Target exercises and lifting form, from by old power lifting buddy. Two weeks to restart, getting all my ducks in a row. I will openly post all supplements and complete workouts as soon as I get the details worked out.

All the supplements are now running, mega dose fish oil, potassium, vit c, D3, red yeast rice, stinging nettle root, cayenne and co-q-10. The rest will stay in the war chest for later on down the road. Diet still under control, basically set and ready. The doc told me to stay out of the gym until this up coming visit. I've got this gut feeling that she will be telling me that I have tendonitis in my right arm ( elbow and forearm ). If anyone has any input on lifting with tendonitis, I would like to hear about it.

I'm getting ready to replace my TRT doc, I'm as bad as I did feel before I started TRT. This last week I got the name of a new urologist that will run complete blood work and will address the issue. Mine still refuses to check for free test or E levels, enough is enough. Feeling rather poorly or not, I'm hitting the gym as planned and start working out, guess I'll be a work in progress until all this is worked out. I can't stand waiting, so I'm going to deal with the issues and adjust as I go.

Merry Christmas to all.............

TT- congrats on 295, 300 will soon be yours ! Doctor appt. at 9 am Monday, will be in the gym by 10:45. It's about time, the wife has packed my gym bag...hint...hint ! Dutchman, the cirrus rx worked perfect, I'd say about 100% improvement. I will let you know how the stinging nettle root and red yeast rice worked as soon as I'm due for bloodwork. Grunt03, how did the coconut oil work for you ?

I started putting the coconut oil in my shakes last week. It does make it easier to up the calories. I haven’t cooked with it yet since I haven’t made anything fried recently but hash browns do sound good tomorrow.

I'm going to pick some up in the morning, our regular store didn't have it in, so I'll go somewhere else. The wife wants me to finish the run for 205, then cut. I think I'll wait to see what the doc has to say on monday.

I haven't purchased coconut oil in a while, but I used to get it at a store called "Sprouts," which is in Texas and other western states.
I'll look for extra virgin coconut oil next time I'm down there.

I've used it for frying up some German potato pancakes. But yeah, it's pretty much solidified at room temperature.
