AnaBeta, RecoverPro, LeanGains - Oh My! (Sponsored)

Precisely, the shoulders are so dang intricate. With the amzing ROM it has an injury can be on any side of it and effect completely different movements.

Yeah, mine hurts primarily on pressing movements. I can feel the pain anytime of day pressing on the top of my anterior/medial delt, where it connects to my arm. For some reason the only chest exercise that didn't hurt my shoulder yesterday was dips. Guess I'll be getting REAL familiar with them...

I'm gonna try some pull-overs and decline presses too. I'll have to get creative on some other chest exercises as well...

Honestly my chest grew quite a bit from dips, just lean forward a little more to put more stress on the pecs instead of triceps and you will get great results.

Hey everyone, come check out and follow along with my now famous Hallow-Lean Log, I do one every year... Invalid Link Removed

Hard to say from your description of the location of the pain. Is it on the coracoid process? Perhaps look at the bicipital tendon rather than just the common suspected shoulder muscles (rotation cuff, deltoids and pecs).

Keep up the good work.

True, I remember Edwitt having a problem thinking it was his shoulder and it was that tendon was sprained or something from a really heavy lift.

Long day of work, crappy food, and it looks like I won't be able to work out tomorrow while on travel. I so dislike travel to garden spots...

A lil rest wont kill you.

Yes, it is quite common for the tendon to dislocate out of the bicipital groove and present itself as shoulder pain. It can make pressing and overhead movements extremely painful. I have done it before on a long TUT extended tri-set on triceps and the explosive exercise to finish (CGBP with EZ bar). The next day I struggled to lift my arm past 90 degrees of flexion lol.

Ol Dr. FeelGood is in the house! :D

I listened to it and looked at the lyrics and still don't know what you mean.

I am going to be ignorant, take it as a compliment and never look at this thread again just in case you tell me otherwise.

Plus, report you for racist bullying. ;)

:D I am sure Urban Dictionary can give you the skinny on Dr. Feelgood (I just cannot access it from work).

I referenced it because you were throwing around some anatomical terms! :D

BDCC... here is a little more Motley Crue education for you: This song listed below was made in 1988/89 and it was written about Nikki Six and his drug overdose which caused heart failure and he was technically dead, no heart beat, and was given a shot of Adrenalin as a last ditch effort to "Kick Start" his heart and save his life!!!

Motley who? You guys want some real music, courtesy of your English friends.

I would be surprised if many people here understand 100% of the words, even I struggle at times lol.

Thank me later. ;)

girls girls girls-i think that is a title he can understand!!!! if not there is little hope, lol.

Final Review for Taurus Nutrition DAA-HCG and Wyked: 7/10 stack, better than average.

DAA-HCG: 7/10

Taste: Not much of a flavor here, but makes whatever you mix it with a little more bitter. Not bad when it's something that's supposed to be sour like lemonade, but not good for chocolate shakes, etc. IMO.

Mixability: No problems.

Libido: Definite boost, more than just bulk DAA with me. Hard to say just how much better, but I felt more boost, sooner.

Energy: Had a good testosterone-related energy boost that kep me going in the evening.

Mood: Good alpha-male feeling, not aggressive per say but confident.

Strength: I didn't notice much difference in strength gains compared to normal progress.

Overall: I think DAA-HCG gives a good testosterone boost to help with libido and alpha-male attitude. It's better and more effective than pure bulk DAA in my opinion, but how much better I'm not sure.

WYKED: 7/10

Taste: One of the best tasting pre-workouts I've tried, just like CountryTime Lemonade!

Energy: Good energy without overly stimmed feeling. Tolerance built up with consistent use, went from 2 scoops to 3 near the end. Overall though it was enough to keep me energized for early morning workouts.

Focus: In line with energy, good but not out of this world. The energy and focus was mild, but enough for workouts.

Pump: I didn't notice too much in the way of pumps with Wyked, not above baseline though.

Overall: Good taste, solid energy, and plenty of servings for the price. While IMO it doesn't stand out in any one area, it's good all around for having energy to make it through a workout.

How's the trip Milas?

Long and hard, 5AM to midnight work (with a few breaks for food, but networking the entire time, so tired now...). Went well though, cool new technology to demonstrate.

Day 17 and 18: off, working from the moment I woke to the time I slept. BUSY days for sure, glad to be home. Diet wasn't great either, sandwiches for lunch and lasagna/steak for dinner these nights respectively. Great networking though for sure, and really cool technology demonstrations.

British pubs are great, as is pub grub. We can be friends, it's cool even if you don't know US Pop Culture.

Haha @ 'pub grub'.

Milas is secretly a ****ney. "'right guvnor!"

Me mammy used to watch Coronation Street, so I picked up a spot. It's Monty Python that taught me all I needed to know, though. I've got to make it back over there, been far too long (7 years!)!

how many scoops do you use of recoverpro on average?

2 scoops in 1L water. I do that 1-3 times a day depnding on workout or not, and whether I am thirsty. Typical would be 2 scoops twice a day. Very tasty Raspberry flavor, I like it a LOT!

I don't know if I like the sound of raspberry flavour BCAAs- I imagine them being very sickly?

The lemon flavour is fine and very good value seeing as it works out to be the same cost per kilo as bulk 2:1:1 BCAAs here.

Probably going to buy another tub. Waiting for the samples John kindly looked into sending me internationally. Does it include RecoverPro flavours?

It should include both flavors. I don't know why you'd think the raspberry would taste "sickly" as an adjective. It's like any fruit flavored BCAA, but it's a sweeter taste, and not a bold raspberry but more mellow and light (at least dilluted 2 scoops with 1L).

It is my own personal preference on raspberry flavoured supplements, most of which don't taste like raspberry!

I thought BCAAs worked better with citrus flavours. The only nice ones I have tasted are citrus.

I am more than happy to be proved wrong though. :)

Day 19 and 20: off, at home just spending time with family. Got a 3mi run in on Day 20, boy it hurts my knees, joints! I am so out of shape for cardio, LOL!

My initial review of the RecoverPro Raspberry sample was not exactly to my liking, but after trying it dilluted to my normal level I really like it, and it is my staple BCAA. Better than Xtend IMO. Worth a shot...

I actually prefer more fruity flavors with BCAA, like Xtend Watermelon or BC+EAA Kiwi-Strawberry. I didn't like BodyMortar Lemonade or Purple Wraath Lemon, too tart and hard to get down IMO. Taste is subjective though...

Well, I tried flat bench and decline bench, but both tweaked my shoulder something awful. Very painful at the bottom of the rep, so I punted on those. Dips were not a problem, and I enjoyed putting them first in the rotation where I was stronger. I hadn't done weighted dips for a while, so it was really nice to feel it. Push ups and cable cross overs were not a problem either. While my shoulder recovers, I'll be doing a lot of these!!! Any other suggestions for good chest exercises that don't impinge on shoulders?

I'm almost to the bottom of bottle #1 for AnaBeta, so I'll take some updated pics and measurements when I crack open the new bottle. So far, I'm giving AnaBeta an A+ for a natural supplement that ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING!!! It's nice to get a boost in strength and muscle mass from a natural product, let alone the types of gains I've gotten. Some highlights so far:

Before --> After
Squat 315 x 5 --> 315 x 10
Deadlift 405 x 5 --> 405 x 8
Bench 225 x 5 --> 225 x 8 (with a bum shoulder)

And I expect these numbers to go up!

I'll let the pics and measurements speak for themselves when updated...

I have not tried the others you have mentioned to give any kind of comparison, but, Xtend is good stuff, I've yet to meet a flavor I didn't like!

Xtend was my old go-to BCAA product, but RecoverPro has usurped it.

Have you tried neutral grip for dumbbell presses or bi-acromial grip for barbell presses? Easier on the shoulder in terms of medial rotation as well as increased ROM on dumbbell presses. Admittedly more of a tactic for preventing injuries rather than fixing them but worth a thought.

I made the classic mistake of thinking you were referencing everything in kilograms, I was extremely impressed with your dips lol.

LOL, I'd need a bigger belt/chain to hold that much weight (in addition to more muscle/AnaBeta)! Still, ~50kg ain't too bad...

I am a bit shy with increasing the weight on dips as I broke a colleague's belt (supposedly good quality) with only 40kg.

The most I have worked up to was 3 reps with +70kg weight on a 4-0-1-0 tempo at 84kg bodyweight. In retrospect I should have attempted a 1RM with bodyweight at the end of my mesocycle just for giggles.

Admittedly I didn't have a dodgy shoulder like you though lol.

Bdcc ah hell come workout here in texas and I will jump on your back like a monkey that will add some weight and you wouldnt need a belt. Lol maybe a back brace when all was done though. Lmao

No need for caveats, +70kg for 3 reps is a lot! I really try to keep ego in check and don't compare myself to folks on here when it comes to lifting, it's all about personal objectives (there's always someone bigger/stronger). Yeah, it'd be fun to do +bw for a 1RM just to say you've done it! I don't know if I'll get there at my rate...

He better hurry or you'll weigh too little!!!

Milas, my experience with WYKED was the same as yours. Definitely one of the better flavors out there. Nice smooth energy, not a RUSH of energy, just enough to be highly motivated. By a couple sets into the workout you are just full on with intensity and focus, but not too much. At 3 scoops I was really intense and was a little stronger than i prefer to stim myself. However for someone less sensitive to stims this would be fine at 3 scoops.

I am really contemplating doing Dips as my main chest exercise for a month or so. I am not sure yet but definitely thinking of it. Would be awesome, and I have a belt now so it would be easier than sticking a 100 lb dumbbell between my legs and holding it there.

Haha. As far as working out with a partners assistance goes it definitely isn't as sexy as donkey calf raises with girls on your back. It gave me the funniest image of you trying to be a koala though.

I would swap my dips for your abs, getting strong and lean is a very different ball game so it is all relative. :)

Appreciate the compliments though. It was only just over a year ago when I could barely walk and failed an 11kg deadlift through serious atrophy but that is another story. Keep up the good work. I will keep my eyes in here every so often just so you can't make digs at me lol.

That's my plan of attack, do whatever chest exercises I can that won't mess with my shoulder. That pretty much leaves dips as the only one I can move real weight on!

My abs are hiding for the summer... ;) Oh, and my strength was crap when I had those abs! LOL!

Sounds like you made an incredible recovery, keep it up! You're doing athletic modeling now? That's pretty cool!

Xtend was my old go-to BCAA product, but RecoverPro has usurped it.

Definitely agree is. I've been mixing one scoop of Raspberry and one scoop of Lemon in about a liter of water and it is damn tasty. Not to mention I paid $40 for 2 big tubs of it thanks to a goof + AI Sports Nutrition's X-mas in July sale.

Wow, leg day HURT today! I guess the run on Sunday took more out of my legs than I thought, I was still sore! Sheesh, I feel like a power lifter with my cardio levels! Regardless, I pushed through and made my legs scream!

Highlight was hitting 315 x 10 for 2 sets and 335 x 8. The 365 seemed heavier than last week, don't know what's going on there other than legs being sore. Overall legs are drained, but I wish I could've done more. Next week I will punish those legs for not responding enough today!

On a positive note, leg presses felt a bit easier, I think I'll get 810 for 8 or 10 reps next attempt, I probably could've gotten 1-2 more today, but I was already hurting. I'm hoping to get to 10 plates each side (900lbs, 20 plates) soon, and then start increasing reps. I've never done > 1,000lbs on leg press (for any real depth), so that will be great once I get there.

I keep forgetting to take my AnaBeta with lunch, I end up taking it 30-60 minutes later, which is not ideal. It just slips my mind as I get wound up in some task at work. Hopefully it'll still work though!
