SilentBob's (no-drama) chatroom

Had black leather in my Grand Cherokee. Have the same in my Saab. Can't say that I've ever stuck to it, but it definitely gets hot! The one option the Saab doesn't have is the cooled seats. The base and back were perforated and had a fan to circulate air. That'd be nice right about now... :)

I was clipping my finger nails today and had a clip fly off and go up my nose. Never had that happen before. Weird but true.

I had a bug go up my nose on the ride to work this morning. Really nothing new, though. Took a bumblebee to the sunglasses last week. And hit a monarch goin about 70 last year - forehead. That felt ... pleasant. :(

^^^That reminded me of this

LOL Cute... I've hit swarms of gnats before and it definitely sucks no matter if I'm going fullface or not! When going skidlid, it kinda stings a bit and is all "ewww". When going FF, it makes it quite hard to see out of the face shield.

The worst was hitting a wasp. Bounced off my helmet and down my vest, stung me right on the sternum, then fell down and stung me again by the ol' bellybutton. SUCKED!!!

And I've come within inches of hitting birds. Robins are HORRIBLE creatures - suicidal!!

When I was a kid I was with my dad and had a dragonfly hit me in the forehead and then stuck between my helmet and my head. The wings made the most awful sound until the bike came to a stop. I was relieved when I saw it was a dragonfly...and dead

Ew.. Haven't hit one of those yet, but have hit larger bugs. Grasshoppers can be pretty nasty. Worst part of those is that they fly slow enough that you can see them coming. Yet, no matter how far ahead you see one, it's always slow motion and you can't move your head in time to dodge it. They make a nice THUD on the ol' helmet, though!

2 weekends ago a group of us made a big trip to the PA Grand Canyon. On the way up there, me and a buddy rode through a deer. Through. It was recently dead, splattered all over the road, but the pools of blood were fresh and still liquid. Yeah... red rooster tail off the back of my bike must have been mildly amusing!

Should be delivered on Friday. I'll post pics of how my pad looks when those get in and y'all can go all 'queer eye' on it for me.

inb4 'needs moar pillows!'

I've heard that June Bugs and Spiders can be pretty sinister as well.

Minding your business and then spider-bro comes creeping down your helmet in front of your eyes.

Just bought more furniture today. I hope I don't do that again for a long time. Delivery set for Thursday, will post more pics when it arrives.

I also need to disassemble/reassemble the power rack I picked up. I have to take off a side so that I can fit it through a door into my dungeon. Can't wait to get that fired up and utilized.

What did you guys do this weekend? Anything is better than 3 days of looking in furniture stores.

On Saturday, I took the bike up to meet with the girls at the inlaws. Left around noon and headed back around 6, got home a bit after 8. All in all, about 350 miles for the trip back and forth. Yesterday, hung around the house most of the day with a sick kiddo. Did things around the house, washed the bike and the car, and ended up going for about an 80 mile "rip n tear" ride - fast pace, twisty roads, leanin' hard. Did laundry and went to bed. Fun! lol

Xmen: First Class rocks

Seen it yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Oh and January Jones is hot!!!

Oh yeah? Raised!

Animooted Bacon! That agile little bastard did all that in denim too. Had to be some Chuck Norris action jeans to pull off those sweet dance moves.

Well the site update seems to be complete. I dunno how I feel about it yet. Sorry about not posting pics as I expect to do on Thursday. Had an unfortunate incident with the bedroom delivery that has ultimately required returning that set and getting another bedroom set in it's place. Hopefully Tuesday will work out.

Today is also day 1 of a week long vacation. I don't know what all I am going to do this week but I'm sure that some of the highlights will include being pool and settling in to the new house. Hard to sleep in a place where I've got bedroom sh*t strewn about all over the place.

Probably gonna hit up total wine this week for some micro-brews. What are some of your favorites? I'm thinking La Fin Du Monde but am more than interested in some other suggestions.

La fin du monde is always a good choice. If you want to go high end, see if they have Invalid Link Removed, it might be the only beer I have enjoyed more then St. Bernardus Abt. 12.

If you consider La Fin your favorite, you could give other Unibroue beers a try, in my experience they are tasty.

Troegenator Double Bock by the Troeg's Brothers Brewery.

Hennepin by the Ommegang Brewery.

Great Lakes Brewery makes some good beers; although my favorites are currently out of season: Oktoberfest, Nosferatu, Christmas Ale, and Black-out Stout. Burning River and Commodore Perry are pretty good year-round brews.

Great looking set-up, SB. I know you got a great deal on that power-rack plus the weights. Good find.

Now see what you can do about breaking that new bed in.........
U know whut I mean.

This looks fun; I'm in!

Welcome aboard.

I gotta try and find the pool today. Cruising through my vacation and haven't done anything poolside yet. :(

It's 12:56pm as I start to type this. At 4:00pm, I am done with work for the week. A little after 5, I pick my wife up and head for my daughter, then home. Then my vacation starts. Off till Monday, June 27th. Big rally in Johnstown coming up next Thursday through Sunday. Planning to enter the Streak in a show again Thursday night to see if I can bring home another trophy. Lots of riding, lots of looking, and hopefully lots of fun ahead! Dang do I need a vacation!!!

:D

Edit: Also hopin' to see some of these...

The metal workout, oh yeah.....

Why listen to Metal during my workout?

Why not? Metal is simply the best music to workout to. In ancient times, Warriors in the Gladiators Arena used to listen to the Drums of War right before their battles. Similarly, U.S. Military forces, listened to Rock and Heavy Metal right before plunging into the treacherous campaigns of Vietnam, Somalia, Kuwait and Iraq. (Colins L, 2004) UFC fighters more often than not, chose their walk out songs to be Metal based – and actually win those fights! (Duck A, 2010). Overall, heavy metal music has the ability to trigger hyperarousal which is a key survival response. During hyperarousal, otherwise known as fight or flight response, the brain releases cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine, which quickly boost the metabolism to increase energy supplies throughout the body.(University of Utah, 2011) However, since the stimulus is aggressive music, and not a physical threat, the effects of these hormones remain at safe levels, and result in delivering just the right amount of energy, without creating any stress burnouts on your body.
