2010 College Football Season

On more thing... Why do you guys even bother trying to beat me at Pick 'Em? My picking style is impetuous. My strategy is impregnable. I'm just ferocious! I want your heart. I want to eat your confidence points. Praise be to Bear Bryant!

RUBBERING...CONGRATS!!!! big win for the Tide and "Pick' EM"

You are so awesome..I wish I were You (((( sarcasm ))):burnout:

Im am the proud owner of two tickets for PSU/Temple game. Thank you WQKX 94.1

Was up there this weekend also. Beautiful Central PA fall weekend, great PSU tailgate, scary close game against Temple.

Plenny we tailgate at 214 on West side of stadium. Easy to spot PSU and Gator flags over blue tent when I am there with my dad. Check us out next time or IM me when you are going up.

I'm definitely gonna be there next year for the Bama game. Meeting up with a friend of mine in NY, then driving down. It would be sweet if we could have an AM tailgating session... that is, if my white/crimson #3 jersey will be allowed in the area.

OG, you ready for next week's rematch? Looks as if both of our teams have weaknesses to exploit this season. Should be an epic game, as always.

bikeswimlive, even though I've gained a tremendous amount of respect for Arkansas' football team and their fans... I just had to post this pic. It's too awesome not to. I do so with great humility.

"Yo, dat wunt necessary, ref. It can't be no pick if I was tryin' to fro it away. And my sister had jus' texted me dat Master P is in da stands. Damn."

That sounds like a great plan!!! My Dad is a pretty big football sponsor and has 8 Club Seats and parking/tailgating right next to stadium. Maybe I could snag us some club seats and we could also meet plenny there. Try to book a room ASAP, that's the toughest part.

You guys are like us last year. Back to back NC's is running such a painful gauntlet.

This years Gators are a hard to nail down. They lost 10 to the NFL from last year's team but the extraordinary talent level of their underclassmen and/or new starters has them improving expotentially from game to game - from awful against Miami Ohio in week 1 to a fairly impressive clubbing of a decent Kentucky team this Saturday. They remind me alot of the talented but inexperienced team of 2007 that had a respectable season and became scary good (and won the NCG) in 2008. Honestly I think they still have too far to go here in week 5 against a Tide team at home that seems to be running on all cylinders. UF's 4 freshman D-Line recruits were the "best ever recruited period" (if you believe Paul Finebaum) and Shariff Floyd from here in Philly is a monster to be sure, but Bama's running game will be too much (this year). Hopefully it won't a repeat of our Tuscaloosa nightmare of 2005. An interesting early season match-up, but a better (closer) game will be played in Atlanta in December IMO (if we get past USC).

WEAKEST PART OF 2010 GATORS : We haven't developed a deep threat passing game yet and our defensive weak point is the run so that hurts us against Bama. If our speedster Jeff Demps doesn't play Saturday (listed as "Questionable" - sprained foot) we are even more f***ed.

BEST PART ABOUT 2010 GATORS: Completely under everyone's radar.

I'm still depressed after Saturday. The three hour drive back to Little Rock was miserable. Needless to say, I died a little and Ryan Mallett lost some love.

I'd post pics now, but I would rather delete.

Shake it off, man... still have Auburn, S. Carolina, and LSU to play. Auburn's the only team that even stands a chance against the Hogs. If Arky runs the table, they just might be on their way to Atlanta. Bama losing two games is well within the realm of possibility. Clearly, the Tide defense can be exploited.

That sounds sweet! Any hotel recommendations?

BEST PART ABOUT 2010 GATORS: Completely under everyone's radar.

Everyone's but Saban. The players said he started screaming about "being disciplined for Florida" before the Duke game. While there's certainly a mutual respect, all indications are that both Nick and Urban take this rivalry very personally.

However, I am absolutely stunned that the opening line is Bama (-9). I'm sure the Gators will use that for extra motivation. ((gulp))

I'm sure every State College hotel is booked that weekend already but it's still worth a google. My dad has a standing reservation for 4 rooms at ToftTrees - about 2 miles from the stadium. For big games many of my friends stay in Lockhaven, a nice small college town about 20 miles from PSU (easy drive straight off Route 80).

Maybe plenny has some ideas....

BTW I ran into a couple of PSU guys tailgating who traveled to Tuscaloosa in their RV's two weeks ago and said the Bama fans were among the friendliest they had ever encountered - including most of the Big Ten schools!!

Interstate 80. Now Lock Haven is getting close to my area. There are places off route 45 (the back road off rt 15, near lewisburg) Also the williamsport area is a good place for hotel accomodations, with alot to do (a college town as well).....last resort, MY PAD!!!!! I live about 60 miles east of State College.:147:

Too bad the internet was fairly new 15 years ago, and AM didnt even exist, because I could have had us staying at Frat Houses and Dorms on campus. I had several friends that went to U. Park in the mid 1990's.

Wow... I knew it had been a while, but I didn't realize Florida had been the favorite in 39 straight games:

Nice find rubbering, I was surprised as well.

BTW, sounds like just another week in the SEC...

This game Saturday has that same potential to be a physical bloodbath.

It’s the way Alabama loves to play. It’s the way Florida will have to play if the Gators are going to do something that hasn’t been done since the end of the 2007 season -- and that’s beat Alabama in an SEC regular-season game.

It’s worth noting that Florida is the last SEC team to beat Alabama. The Gators won the 2008 SEC championship game 31-20 by owning the fourth quarter.

Gators by 7

Damn near all of our impact players from last year are in the NFL now but I would still be surprised if Urban Meyer lost to Alabama 3 times in a row (last year's SEC CG, this Saturday, and the SEC CG in December - if it ends up that way). I would think (hope!) one would fall our way

If those are my options, then I'll take Florida winning Saturday. That whole "get revenge on the Gators" thing worked out pretty well last year.

Remove the law program and that ranking goes bye bye.

And the Education program, and the Business program, and the Accounting program...

Look, you implied AU is a much better academic institution than UA, and that's just not the case. Check out how many National Merit Scholars Tuscaloosa attracts. Bottom line: On every reputable list, Alabama is ranked higher overall than Auburn. Not that either are comparable to the schools out here or in the northeast.

Compare engineering.

Did you want me to compare their program with Stanford, UC Berkeley, USC, and the California Institute of Technology while I'm at it? Making the top 70 nationally doesn't exactly make AU a flagship engineering school. And btw, it looks like UA's engineering program is no slouch either: Invalid Link Removed

TT, just because you want something to be true... doesn't mean it actually is. Hell, if that were the case, the Longhorns would have a decent running back.

Whiiiiiiiiiiich brings us back... to football. (Nicely done, rr.)

Florida Alabama

Mark Long, Fanhouse, AP:

"No matter who wins Saturday night, it's obvious that everyone else will still be chasing Florida and Alabama for many, many years to come....
Saturday night's game has been touted as an SEC showdown, the third meeting in three years between the league's top two teams. No doubt, it's meaningful. But the loser can win out and reach the SEC title game and probably still play in the Bowl Championship Series national title game."

No matter what you think about the SEC (or the Gators and the Tide), you don't get that type of automatic respect anywhere else.

Should be a great game. Florida's 5-2 defense could cause some problems for Bama if McElroy plays like he did last week. I can see Julio being a bigger part of their game plan this time around. On the flip side, Brantley hasn't had a breakout game... and our DBs are ripe for the pickin' at times.

The real question about this game is...

Where the hell's Trauma1?????????????? :bsflag::lame:

"Let's call a rivalry what it is supposed to be -- significant, bitter and compelling. And in the moment. That's where this argument will jump off the tracks for some of you. Florida-Alabama is not only is the best rivalry in college football, it's the best rivalry in sports.

Right now.

Game of the weekend? It's not even close. You can have Stanford-Oregon and Texas-Oklahoma. I'll take Florida and Alabama against the field to still be standing the first week of December."

I think Bama's edge at QB and the combo of Ingram and Richardson will be too much for the Gators. Bama will have the home turf advantage. Florida does have a scary amount of speed but Brantley won't do enough on third down to bail the Gators out. I can see this one going 31-17 in favor of the Tide.

I hope Stanford gets killed ! ! ! Go CAL

Gators young talent grows expotentially each game so I like their chances in a December SECCG more than tomorrow night in TTown.
In any event, should be an entertaining showing by two SEC heavyweights. If Demps is 100% it will be even more fun.

I can guarantee you this: Cal will not lose this week. Take that to the bank.

Hopefully not, we're usually awesome at home. If they can't bring against UCLA (coming off a huge win at Texas) then they have some issues. We should've beaten Arizona, we beat ourselves in that game (2 missed FG's) and 0 TD's in 3 trips inside the red zone. We luckily always seem to have a good running game to support our underachieving QB's (except for Aaron Rodgers).

A terrible performance today by my beloved Buckeyes, any national championship aspirations are fading fast. After we finished last year running the ball so well we cannot run block again this year. At least we didn't give up a kick return for a touchdown today. For whatever reason we struggle to beat Illinois 11-9 in our last 20 meetings, oh well 5-0 and on to the next week.

Canes!

Whoooo!

Big win on the road today - 3rd straight road game. We won in spite of Dabo Dabo Doo paying off the refs. It was like the Fiasco Bowl again.

That being said I don't know what to expect from Jacory, and thus the team. He can throw a dart for a 65 yd TD to Hankerson or throw an INT when we are inside the 10 yd line of Clemson.

You just don't know with him.

Good thing is he doesn't get down on himself after he makes a dumb play. Or maybe that's bad. I dunno.
Regardless as much as our fanbase b*tches about him - we live or die with him, we have no one else at QB.

Go Canes!

Oh yeah - completely forgot to upload pics from the 3 games I went to.

Will do that maybe tomorrow.

Dude, you sound like a Bama fan... or the opposite of an Auburn fan!

Honestly, there isn't a single team the rest of the way that will come within 10 points of beating the Buckeyes.

Relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxxx.

A particular Auburn fan (I won't mention any names, h0other) was trying to glorify AU's close win over Clemson by saying they'd win the ACC. I thought it was a funny joke... so I LOL'd. Dabo got by alright today... 'cause the Canes should've beaten them even worse.

It's hard watching the LSU offense knowing they have one of the best defenses in the country. They just need to go back to running smashmouth football SEC style. They have a good line and good backs.

They need to fire Gary Crowton. **** him and his razzle dazzle offensive schemes.

Yeah, Crowton needs to stop being Mr. Fancypants. They should be owning the Vols right now. K-I-S-S method.

Les Miles brilliant clock management strikes again.

edit: spoke too soon but he's still an idiot

Where's the unsportsmanlike conduct call on LSU for tossing their helmets in anger after they thought their HC blew it? Should've been one last shot... but from the 16 yard line.

Just sayin'.

I can never relax where this team is concerned. I think we regressed this week and I really think there are 3-4 teams we could lose to this year. I'm worried about Indiana next week that's a terrific offense we may not be able to score enough points to keep up. We play Wisconsin at Camp Randall after that which could be a loss, followed by Purdue, Minnesota and Penn State we win those 3 by 24. The last 2 games are Iowa and Michigan which will be tough. So in summation we may not win very many more games this season but we'll be bowl eligible and go lose to South Carolina in the Outhouse bowl.
