2010 College Football Season

I love it. Up 45-13 at halftime, and Saban is fuming. "We are not dominating! I don't care about giving up the touchdown - it's about playing to a standard!"

Well, I'm off to Palo Alto for the Stanford - Wake Forest game. I just felt like watching abysmal defensive play... from teams not named Notre Dame. (J/k BabyHulk!)

It's not the SEC, but hey... it's all I have access to out here. Arizona's relatively close, but I have to wait until January to see Alabama play there. ;)

Have a great one, boys! ROLL DAMN TIDE!

Wrong Again TT

I wouldnt call what Florida did dominance at all.

You'd have to have a clue about the history of the great SEC rivalries to understand. In the Urban Meyer era, it is TOTAL DOMINATION in a rivalry that was give and take for decades.

Urban Meyer Continues to Put Stamp of Dominance on Tennessee
Clay Travis, Senior NCAA Writer....

With his sixth win in a row over the Vols, there is only one coach in modern history who has surpassed Meyer's dominance over the Vols: Bear Bryant. And for weary Volunteer fans, there's very little to suggest that Meyer's streak is going to end any time soon. Indeed, hate him if you will -- and I do, passionately -- but Meyer is individually responsible for the Derek Dooley era beginning. More than anything else, Phil Fulmer was fired for his inability to beat Meyer's Gators.

For now, his third week in September ends like every other third week in September has ended with him at the Gators helm, with a victory over the Vols that leaves him the most hated man in the state of Tennessee not named Lane Kiffin. In the wake of a sixth straight defeat, Volunteers fans are left with this sobering reality: after six years, the Vols appear to be no closer to beating Meyer than they were in 2005. Indeed, the gap appears to have grown.

The Tebow era may be over at Florida, but some things haven't changed at all. Urban Meyer still owns the state of Tennessee.

Yes, he has owned the team with his pack of crimnals in a time when they have been horribly down. Again, Florida did not dominate Tennessee on the field yesterday, they simply beat them. And I have a feeling that dynamic will change.

I met a girl from there. She was really beautiful and seemed like a good person. Sad she was leaving.

Also, LOL.

I'm sorry... but this is just ridiculous. Thanks, Boise. So fucking stupid.

OH NO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!:aargh::aargh: F-CK YOU BOISE ST! :rocketwhore::rocketwhore:
Why doesn't the NCAA put a stop to this sh!t? You aren't allowed to have different colored footballs why should you be allowed different colored field?

Anyways, you know how I know youre gay? You claim to have self respect but live in California.

Repetitive agitator is repetitive.

If you don't come out of that closet pretty soon, you're gonna end up in Narnia. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go bed with my hot wife. (Who the fuck says that?)

Why Pot Shouldn't Call Kettle Black

From AP Sports:

For all the heat Boise State takes for playing two top 25 teams, how many do Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska play this year? Two for Texas two for Oklahoma and one for Nebraska. Write this down and underline it: Boise State's schedule is tougher than Nebraska's.

No wonder no one from the Big 12 is screaming about Boise. :silly:

good read OG. I wasnt aware of that. Nebraska's schedule will be a "WEE BIT" harder next season.

My guess is Nebraska will play Ohio State in the first ever Big Ten conference championship game next year. My Buckeyes will win it of course. Tomahawk I was checking out your log today bro, you're a beast!

Thank u sir. I must give some credit to my workout partners who I can no longer lift with(damn Air Force lol). 700 is a hell of a lot closer than I thought it was.

You know, I think the Arkansas media has made a huge mistake in building up this game the way they have. Saban's baby is the secondary, so don't think they haven't heard all about how Mallett is just going to pick them apart on Saturday. And don't think Greg McElroy doesn't have a huge chip on his shoulder. With all the Mallett-Heisman hype, it's lost on some that the only QB in this game with a 17-0 record and a couple of championships is playing for the away team... along with an actual Heisman winner. Hightower's season ended in this game last year, and he's alluded to how important it is for him to get a little payback. I also read today how offended the Bama players are by this "Red Out" (which makes little sense, but that's another story) and how it's been suggested that Arkansas will win because of Mallett's arm and their defense's "heart."

Arky should've gone the way of Lou Holtz with this one. They might've snuck up on Bama.

Not now.

I would think the chip on his shoulder comes from this:
"McElroy led the Crimson Tide to the 2010 BCS National Championship Game versus the undefeated Big XII champions Texas Longhorns at the Rose Bowl. He was able to complete 6-of-11 pass attempts for 58 yards while being sacked five times and losing 27 yards."

As far as the Red Out:

I'll put aside the cracked ribs, having Ingram/Richardson in the backfield, the 18-point halftime lead, and just say this:

Defensively, Arkansas isn't '09 Texas. Not even close.

Here's another quote for ya. It's more relevant to our topic.

"Mallett was just 12-for-35 for 161 yards and an interception. Meanwhile, McElroy completed 17-of-24 for 291 yards and no picks."

....and Ryan Mallett isn't freshman Garrett Gilbert (who did drive on the Tide D).

This isn't last year's Arkansas team. This game isn't in Tuscaloosa. This is a team ready to turn the corner. What better opportunity than against Alabama?

Take away the Murray's 90 yards off of two passes in the fourth quarter as our defense decided to pretend the game was over and he has a less than mediocre day.

If Alabama wins, it will be because of Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram doing what they do and running over our D. I don't expect McElroy to have much to do with it. He reminds me of another NC winner, Craig Krenzel at Ohio State. He isn't going to win you any games, but he won't lose it for you either.

I can honestly say, I haven't been this pumped up for a Razorback game in years.

...Probably since the Matt Jones & Miracle on Markham Era.

No... he's Ryan Mallett... who didn't drive on the Tide D. (Not sure how that supports your point.)

This isn't last year's Arkansas team.

That's fortunate. Uncertainty > 35-7.

This game isn't in Tuscaloosa.

2008: Alabama 49 - Arkansas 14

Take away the Murray's 90 yards off of two passes in the fourth quarter...

No.

I don't expect McElroy to have much to do with it. He isn't going to win you any games...

Highest highs to lowest lows. This is gonna blow up in the Hogs' faces.

It's confidence/arrogance like that is what I am counting on. Please don't take us seriously. Please don't even fathom you could lose.

I'm hoping to see this face (only out of a crushed spirit) in person on Saturday:

Nothing of the sort. As you well know, I'm certainly in agreement that Arkansas matches up favorably in key areas against Alabama. The Tide could definitely lose. This is not a game I'd ever brush off. The Hogs are a good, good team. My point has to do with the hype strategy. History has shown that the one thing you don't want to do to a Saban-coached team is provoke them. Utah didn't talk any smack. Nor did Florida ('08). On the other hand, Georgia/Auburn/Florida ('09)/Texas did.

Even if I were confident/arrogant (I'm absolutely not)... the Arkansas media has blown any chance that Alabama will feel that way. All I hear is, "Ryan Mallett, Ryan Mallett, Ryan Mallett, Ryan Mallett, Ryan Mallett, Ryan Mallett..." I'm glad my team's success doesn't live or die with one player. That kind of confidence has to feel pretty fragile.

But hey, maybe it's genius and this Mallett-Mania-Red-Out will get in Bama's heads.

It may snow in Fayetteville this Saturday too.

Only one way to find out. We are getting close. My office is closing early tomorrow to have a company tailgate. Going to be a great day.

Hey Rubbering, not sure if you heard this yet:

Not sure who AL will have coming back in '12, but I know that as long as we keep getting wins, our recruiting will keep getting better!!

Yeah, just talked to my old Navy roommate on Facebook. He's a Wolverine (even though he played for W. Michigan), so we've already pledged to meet up in Dallas for the game. I want revenge for that damn missed extra point in the '00 Orange Bowl... long before Brady had such pretty hair.
