2010 College Football Season

No... I believe it goes:

Yea, Alabama! Drown 'em Tide!
Every 'Bama man's behind you;
Hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For 'Bama's pluck and grit
Have writ her name in crimson flame!
Fight on, fight on, fight on, men!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then!
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!

V-Tech lost to... (gulp)... James Madison.

How's Boise's quality win lookin' now?

On the other hand, San Jose State gave Wisconsin problems today. Just sayin'.

Ill take that back now. Injury reasons. I put up 100 bucks earlier in the season that Crist would end up hurt again. Got my double money now. As obviously seen, that's not a good thing. Not a good thing.

Gotta hand it to our defense for now. If Crist don't come back in, the D will be so stretched it would be like not having any D whatsoever. Yeah I know we have had that for a while. Makes me sick.

lol, maybe this will divert espn's love affair from boise to james madison. that will give you a break brother:biglaugh:

Question for anyone with a good answer, and serious answer. How come when we aren't ranked, and get beat, it's the biggest win for the other team, and they act as if we were the #1 team in the country? But when we lose, and are still unranked, we just plain suck? Can't figure it out except people love to hate us and will turn anything in to something to prove how much better they are than us. Just sayin'.

Forgot to pick my d*mn games yesterday. Sh*t.

Yeah, should be a solid test of who is the most mediocre team in the country, if I may be so generous.

Thanks for being so generous. You should have said "sucks the most". At least you would have spoken your REAL opinion. Don't be bashful. If your a hater, then HATE.

So fu_king disappointed in the special teams! even if we hang on to win this game there is no way we can compete for a NC with special teams this awful. Tressel has always stressed special teams since coming to OSU so it's surprising that ours suck so much ass.
James Madison over Va Tech = Fu_k you Boise State!

I'm really looking forward to beating the crap our of USF in week 2. For those that don't live down here in Florida, this is a trash-talk game for the state. Since they beat FSU last year, they've been talking all kinds of smack, however, I'm sorry, "The Swamp" will engulf them and expose them for the chumps they are.

Took a flyer in the college pick em game and took Florida St over Oklahoma. That pick looks as sh!tty as Ohio State's special teams.

Ill give credit to D robinson, but he aint' as bad as he looked against a stretched out defense. Rookie quarterbacks gave 14 pts in turnovers. thats ok though. We did the best possibly we could do. Second start for a rookie QB. Only played 2 qtrs. not so bad. Sucks we couldn't pull it off. Just don't think M is worth the hype they are gonna get now. We're still not where need to be, but well on the way.

And to the haters...let me have it b*tches!!!!!!!!!!

I know Im not the only one online...somebody tell me we suck. I need to get back into things...If M makes it into the top 25, I think we should have been ranked. There is no way that is a HUGE win for M. They got lucky, thats it. But also, a W is a W, but I aint' gonna stop bitchin about it. That absolutely sucked for me. Now everyone can get on M's d*ck just like our announcers. Oh Michigan is soooo good now. Yeah right. Good luck to other teams tonite. Hope you beat the sh*t outta your competition. That way you can claim to be the best thing to ever happen to college football. But what is a ND fan's opinion? Oh that's right, nothing. Peace.

Just wanted to pop in and say....DUKE DAWGS ALL DAY! haha JMU put in work today

hahahaha sorry bro but you sound like I feel when Ohio State loses a game. I completely agree with you though that if it is a huge win for scUM then ND should have been top 25. Lil greezy had another big game so I'll have to endure Michigan fans again this week. Imagine how good he could be if he had the brains to learn to tie his damn shoes. I can't wait until we kick the sh!t out them in November I'm already tired of hearing from Michigan fans about how "we're back" and "look out in November" :bryce:

Its amazing that they point out that he "doesn't know how to tie his shoes" like that's the way to be. Absolutely makes me sick. Hope you guys kick the sh*t out of them. Still don't like you guys either, but can't root for the skunkbears, especially after today. That was a hard loss.

I know what you mean it was unbearable to be an Irish fan for a day but I really wanted them to beat meatchicken. I wonder would the outcome have been different had Christ played the whole game

The first 6 quarters of the post-Tebow era at Florida have not been pretty. Good thing they have a fast, opportunistic defense to lean on.

But thank God for quarters 7 and 8 :clap2:

The offense has to change it's entire look going from an SEC rushing leader Tebow to non-running threat Brantley but they finally got into a groove!

Brantley, who broke Tebow's high school passing record in Florida, has some of the most talented athletes in college to get the ball to and the arm to do it. I just think that trying to get him to run the option ala Tebow was a disaster and it looks like they finally figured that out. Oh yeah, and it was a big help that the Center stopped rolling the ball to the QB today.

Yeah, the D is still looks like the same sick group of maniacs of old.

They know how it would have been. We didn't do sh*t for 5-6 possessions with the backups that never played a down of ball. Once he came back in, 2 plays and we scored. It would have been a win for us by about 14 is my guess.

Not that this is something you don't already know BH, but defense (or lack thereof) is what's keeping that program from making the next step. In two games, ND's opponents have averaged 427 yards of total offense, almost evenly split between run/pass. Purdue had 20 first downs and possessed the ball for 35 minutes. Michigan had 22 first downs and they too owned the ball 9 minutes longer than the Irish offense. Robinson's stats from yesterday are flat-out ridiculous. The thing is, both the Irish fanbase and media are all up in arms this morning, talking about...

...the QB situation and offensive playcalling? Really. Really?

Just like when Weis was coaching, there seems to exist some belief in South Bend that having an "offensive genius" should somehow negate not being committed on defense.

I'm not saying this will end up being a bad hire. Too early to tell. But I think in a year or so, ND will have an offense that scores 35+ per game, but averages only 20-22 minutes in time of possession. That formula always allows for being in a shoot-out with another "quick-strike" team, and having a tired defense. Maybe I'm just old school, but I've always sided with the philosophy that "if they don't score... they can't win."

When it comes down to it, I've just never heard anyone say, "Offense wins championships." However, that seems to be the Notre Dame credo since Dr. Lou left.

I can't really comment on the "Notre Dame hate," except to say that, coupled with a fanbase that rivals Alabama in the annoyance factor, every coach since Holtz has been a combination of douche + ineffective. Being a douche causes everyone to root against you, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But being ineffective creates CONTEMPT. The latter is far, far worse. If Kelly is one of those guys who drinks the Kool-Aid when it comes to offense trumping defense... he's headed into Weis territory.

My $0.02.

Because of how famous ND is and how the media jock rides their asses. They are an independent because they are just oh so ****ing special. There is a bunch of history there and none of it matters anymore but dammit, we still get to hear about it. They were pushing the tradition there before it was cool to be traditional. ND fans think the world of their institution and they do nothing but ride the past into all modern achievements.

He just had to ruin the shutout didnt he. BTW, where's all the PSU lovers from earlier? :hmmm:

Same place Bama fans were pre-Saban.

What? Bama fans, under any circumstance, are anything but silent.

We were a lot like BabyHulk during the DuBose/Shula years... frustrated as hell, and very expressive about it. To suggest that Bama fans just disappear when their team is down would be incorrect.

For the record, I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid just yet. A team like Arkansas would've eaten Bama's corners up yesterday. Hopefully, getting Dareus back will allow for even more pressure on opposing QBs.

I swear though, I go full-on "Bert stare" when I watch Trent Richardson run. The power is just unreal. It was comical watching Penn State try to arm-tackle a freight train. Here's a pic of him from yesterday:

Get over it already!!!! Bama beat a very young penn state squad that WILL be a championship caliber squad in a year or two.

two turnovers in the redzone??? PSU should have had 2 td's..but y'know...

Definitely could have been much closer had they not turned the ball over in the red zone, but here's the thing it's a defense's job to get you a stop or a turnover in that spot and that's what Bama's did. By that same logic Miami would have been in the game yesterday if their qb didn't throw so many int and we could have blown them out if we could cover a damn kick.

^^^This.

Wait till next year.

Bama by 24.

Once we beat Georgia next week, I feel comfortable saying Arkansas will break into top ten (currently 12). That will set up a top ten showdown with the Tide.

Enough with the "PSU is young" excuse. We had one returning full time starter on defense yesterday. It doesnt get much younger than that. And as far as the wait til next year line goes...i cant wait!!! Our defense is gonna be NASTY next year with all those returning starters we're gonna have.

My $0.02.

That's an accurate analysis, but the point trying to be made is, that if we scored every posession under Crist, and had not given up 2 turnovers for 14 pts under 2 qb's that never played a down, it would have been a different outcome. Anytime you cough up the ball for points you are not supposed to win, or at least not trying hard enough. I also know our D is nowhere close to what it needs to be, but it is better than last year IMO. Defense wins championships, but a great offense can win some games too. What we want is a championship, but you're not gonna get it by not winning games, or not having a stout D either. The defense part I get. But if your offense can't score at all (like 5-6 of our posessions) you won't win either, no matter the state of your defense.

Can't be too hard on Crist either, he hasn't had but 1 start under center and that was week 1. Lot of work, but at least it's in progress. What happens if he gets hurt, well....

Bottom line is I am sick and tired of losing games that we should have won. I don't give a f*ck why, it just needs to stop. Stop worrying about academics, rules, beliefs, morals, traditions, etc, and just win football games. Seems to work for other schools. So why not? Just my 2 cents.

True dat. Looking ahead, Alabama is likely to lose only one starter on defense next season. On offense, A.J. McCarron will more than fill McElroy's shoes, and there's just one senior on the o-line. If Ingram and Julio move on after this season, it's pretty clear that Richardson, Maze, Hanks, and Norwood... well, let's just say they'll carry on smartly.

No no no! integrity is important, graduation rates are important, academics are important. I know winning is the bottom line I'm not naive but you want to do it the right way. On that note I was listening to the Buckeyes pre-game radio show yesterday and they said that Miami under Randy Shannon has among the highest graduation rates in the country and EVERY senior on last years team got a degree. :clap2: That's more than the total for the entire Jimmy Johnson era combined. I want my Buckeyes to win but not at all cost.

I feel the same way, yet it's today's youth that don't care. That in turn is what influences prospects decisions and things of that sort. (Agents and bribe's do too. Ha)

Wow, what a game, eh??!!!! GO BLUE!!!! Hail to the Victors!!! Blah, blah, blah........ Honestly, I can't believe we cracked the top 25.. Like Baby said, if we're now in the top 25, shouldn't ND have been ranked? I mean, I could see, POSSIBLY getting up to No.25, but all the way up to 20? No... Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see them there, but as of now, MI is a friggin' 1 man band & that kid can only take a beating for so much longer before he get's sidlined for a good while.

I also think that ND would have been the victors yesterday had Crist not gone out. They had the momentum..

I also think that D. Robinson had a helluva game! Regardless of any stats (yeah, like the 2 missed field goals, the ****ty/stupid penalties, the weak D...) He played his friggin heart out! I read a few articles on him & he seems to be a fairly humble kid! Wonder what he'll do against that powerhouse otherwise known as UMASS next week, lol!!

Oh, and in case by now, y'all don't know by now, that's shoelace's "untied" shoes in my avatar! LMAO!!

thanks for posting that. I wanted to watch that yesterday, but got sidetracked w/ the kids.. Kid is a friggin' beast!!!!

You know white people dont play football anymore right? It doesnt work like you said.

Have you seen Boise St play? I've never seen so many white guys on the field at one time. Did I mention to you guys my disdain for fuc_ing Boise St and that blue eye sore they play football on?

Sir I think u need to be corrected here.

Check out BYU or the Air Force Academy. I remember a few years back the AF coach at the time said they needed more black guys because they r fast  Couldnt find the clip on youtube :(

Wrong. We are an independent, because that was voted majority by all when we became independent. Then, we tried to get into the Big 10 and was denied. Now people hate us because we are happy with our independence thus far. Get used to it, its a current trend. BYU....who's next? Hell, there might even end up being a conference called "Independent".
