I'm 6'3" and 40 years old doc says I'm pre hypertensive. I started out a year ago at 242 lbs. Today, I'm at 216 lbs and have been for the past couple of weeks. How could I drop the extra 16 lbs?

What type of cardio are you doing? What diet (if any ) are you on? Are you taking any supps.

ECA coupled with keto diet and HIT alternating days with long moderate paced cardio should do the trick.

Just saw the hypertension. ECA may not be good. Not sure how that would effect you.

I do1.5-3 miles on eliptical machine about 2-3 times a week. 1 mile is approx. 10-12 minutes. My diet has gotten lots better, baked/ chicken, fish steak as many veges as possible. Monday-Friday upper body free weights. I dont really count calories. Just try to stay away from the traditional junkfood. I have two protein shakes per day. 1 a day multivitamin. I was hoping to get rid of the prehypertension by dropping the weight.

Start counting calories. keep them good fats and protein with no carbs (minus veggies). do you have knee issues. Kick cardio up to at least 4 days a week. 2 days of High intensty for 30 minutes and then 2 days of on the eliptical at a moderate pace. Forget running a set distance and make sure you do half an hour and try to increase distance a little each time. I'm assuming you don't do legs. Squats and deads are awesome compound movements good for your whole body and will shred fat not to mention tighten you up.

Oh, and stay away from salty foods or from adding extra salt. Drink TONS of water.

1000mg per day on fish oil. yes, I do have bad knees thats why i do the eliptical machine on level 16. level 20 is max.

Gotcha. That's what I figured. Alternate cycling, and eliptical and do HITcycling. The real key though would be to count your calories and increase the cardio.

As others have mentioned, the only way to ensure weight loss is to start counting your calories or portions and reduce them until you start losing weight. The leaner you get the more crucial this is.

FYI fish oil is not a weight loss aid. Yes it is good for overall health but adding fat to your diet just adds more calories.

Read Invalid Link Removed - it contains comprehensive information re nutrition (the #1 determining factor in successful fat loss), supplementation (and no, you don't need to use a fat burner for effective fat loss), and training for fat loss, and apply the principles in it.
