Hey guys just have a question, Im not doing a clean bulk..eating whatever I can and its working no doubt, Im up 10 pounds in just about a month..Im concerned about my stomach fat tho, its kinda getting larger along and i know this is what is suppose to happen but is there anyway I can keep stomach fat to a minimum gain? I know eating healthier things would help but what about like maybe a separate day at the gym just doing cardio for a while or is doing cardio while bulking wasteful?

Have you ever tried keeping track of your caloric intake and macro nutrients?

If you're gaining more fat than you're comfortable with, then you're taking in too many excess calories. Keep track of your calories for a while and slowly reduce them until you find a nice middle ground of gaining LBM and fat. AM has a Diet Tracker or you can use websites like Fitday and TheDaily Plate.

And FWIIW, I've successfully incorporated three to four days a week of cardio into bulking schemes before. I used both Low intensity and high intensity cardio and don't recall working better than the other while bulking. This probably varies from person to person though. I prefer HIIT over LIST though because I can get in out more quickly, lol ;)

Another thing you can look into, if you haven't already, is nutrient timing.

CLA, plus uphill brisk walking 45min 3x a week HR no higher than 125-130

You must increase your calories SLOWLY from maintenance. A lot of guys just whack on 500kcal+ and wonder why they're getting fat, drop them a bit mate if you're getting a bit podgy and definitely consider the Invalid Link Removed for helping to prevent further fat gain.

great idea. thanks for the help guys. Im going to check out the CLA..Things is my weight gainer takes about 1000 cals at once..so I think that was where alot of excess cals were coming from.. But obviously my bulking aint clean, i eat whatever I can..my body is usually fast at metabolizing right now so i try and just pack whatever I can..I guess I will start watching my calories from now on..I eat alot of traditional food at home as well, so its hard to have a accurate idea of how much fat/cals are in there... but Ima check out the CLA for sure. thanks for your advice guys.

Yeah I wouldnt spend alot of money just pick up some CLA and turn up the cardio

well think about what your saying. You are wanting something that will keep belly fat off but you are going to be above maintenance level in calories.... Its products like CLA and Forslean that will help you kind of keep your body in check... At least thats my opinion. Regardless you will gain some flab

I bulked and lost bf both were done slowly but at same time btw I use7.5g cla

What he said^^^...

It wont strip fat off of you while bulking, unless your a freak like me, but it will hold it off for the most part.

So basically I'll have the flab that I have now and it will help me more in a future reference from storing anymore fat or cutting a major part of it?

Your way over eating if you gained 10 lb in one month. Unless you were dehdrayed and glycogen depleted from dieting. If you cam from maintainance eatin and gained 10 lb you gained over half of that weight is prob fat. You shouldn't see very noticeable fat gains in 4 weeks if done right. You wanna try n gain about 2lb muscle 2 lb fat a month so 4 lb total is a good pace.
Remember roughly a good strting point is 3600 calories per lb of fat. So if you gained 6 lb of fat in one month and you only want to gain 2 from now on you need to cut out four lb or 3600 calories a week. So spread them out or cut them on your non trainig days, while moving more of your calories to post workout meal.

Again is this just a rough starting point that may been to be adjusted later

Lots of good points in this thread, when I lean bulk I usually lift heavy, do interval cardio 1-2x per week, slowly increase calories, usually a balance of fat and carbs. CLA has been shown to aid in fat loss even on a calorie excess diet.

it is possible to recomp but pretty tough IMO. especially naturally.

this is a great choice for keeping lean for its effects on PPARa/y gene expression (extract below) .... It also may be wise to add in a nutrient repartitioner to keep adipocyte production to a minimum as well as wasting some calories..

CLA = Conjugated Linoleic Acid

right?

Whats a soild cheap brand? NOW?

I would post the link i found, but the 50 post limit is kicking my butt.

cardio has shown to direct fat away from abdominals (the visceral fat). So adding some cardio during a bulk might be good.

Visceral fat isn't what obscures your abdominal muscles, it's subcutaneous fat. Exercise in general tends to help with visceral fat, but that isn't what most people think of as "stomach fat".

Hey guys just have a question, Im not doing a clean bulk..eating whatever I can THIS WILL MAKE YOU FAT! and its working no doubt, Im up 10 pounds in just about a month..Im concerned about my stomach fat tho, its kinda getting larger along and i know this is what is suppose to happen but is there anyway I can keep stomach fat to a minimum gain? NVM "separate day at the gym just doing cardio" that wont do much, its all about diet. eat slow absorbing carbs!
liek pastas, oatmeal, rice ect. NOT pops, sugars, candys ect.

also I rec IBCAA's (pp) 10-15g 2-3 times a day with meals and ASGT to help with gains.
diet is key sorry bro.

You can buy CLA at walmart or wallgreens. Also supplements like RECOMP and GLYCOBOL will help preventing fat gain. A lot of people try not doing cardio cause they want to gain as much weight as possible. I would say eat clean but more of it, drop the weight gainer cause they mostly have suger in them to up the calories and order some recomp or glycobol. Oustanding recommended recomp so I say go with that. A great way to up the calories is what i started doing. Grab some cottage cheese(I get fat free cause they just have sat. fat in them) and do 3 servings+3 servings of PB and a scoop of whey protein. If your whey is unflavored you can add fruits or maybe fat free chocolate syrup. That's like 1K calories right there :D

on the phone so...yeah

I love the advice in here!!!!!
"I'm gaining fat way to quickly while bulking?"
Oh well just add a supplement! That will fix your diet!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you look at your diet which is clearly not managed properly. You probably don't even know how many calories your eating.

Oh well enjoy being fat

Watch your carb intake a bit, and make sure you take in more Lower G.I. carbs compared to eating junk or higher GI based food's, this will help...

Also I will echo that CrazyFool has said, get yourself some PrimaForce Sesamin Liquid, cheap and effective and should keep excess fat gain at bay, should last you 2 months from 1 bottle taken 3 times per day.

Take it with a meal with adequate fats, 10g+ should be fine to take your sesamin with.

Just bulk, you can always cut later.
Not saying east burgers all day, but you know what I mean.
Keep it fairly clean and if you gain some fat you can shed it later.

If you're not a natty, what I'm doing at the moment is GH with cyclomel... T3 is excellent for increasing metabolism (including protein synth) and the lypolitic effect of the GH is helping keep me lean-ish in the midsection. A big factor with T3 tho can be muscle wasting.. if you're not consistant with your protein intake you can risk eating through muscle tissue.

Natural answer: Eat cleaner carbs, less saturated fats, no trans. Time your meals better. Also, adding a burner with thyroid stims like gugglesterone, coleus forskohlii, etc. could help too.
