- SICK WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!!!
- went out of my way to bury my training partners today....And it worked!!!
- back feels like i was caned yesterday

Excellent work Punthra, I have never seen anyone do the Centuries that way. I have always seen them 10 at each weight all the way up to 10 plates on each side and then work your way back down the plates. I thought that was hard, never made it past 7 plates on each side. You Sir are a friggen machine.

The way i read about centuries was using 45's, but that was in MD so i just did it that way. It seems to be paying divedends.

Yeah that is what I meant by plates, 45 lb plates. What I meant was I had only heard of it being 10 reps at each weight working up 10 sets of 10=100 reps up, then 10 sets of 10 for down. Although i think the real Centuries don't actually have the way back down. I think I read that was a way to keep going once you couldn't meet your reps was to work back down the ladder. Your way is friggin insanity on top of insanity. I like it. How long did it take you to get all of those reps from start to finish of the Centuries?

I generally rest as long as it takes my training partner to knock out his set. It usually takes me about 20 minutes to a half hour depending on how heavy i'm breathing or barring the need to puke....LOL!

Oh okay you are resting. I feel a little less like a BIA now.... I was wondering how what you were doing was humanly possible. The version of the Centuries I was referring to is a no rest situation. 10 reps add weight, 10 reps add weight, etc... no rest in between other than however long it takes to add the weight.

You should give that a try someday too it is a fun one. Your way is beastly as well though. I may have to try this and see what I can do one day. WOW!

Now I am going to be on the net looking up Centuries again I wonder how many variations of these there are.

I've tried centuries your way as well but i like having a touch of rest so i can push the envelope a little more.

Cool, I am going to give your way a shot one day. I can't even imagine doing 50 reps with 10 plates on the leg press. I did 3 sets of 20 the other day with 8 plates and was pretty worn out. I think if I had tried for 40 MAYBE I could have but that would have probably been the last set I could complete.

That is just insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My back is thickening up nicely as well, as if that's ever a problem for us thick back gorilla types... lol between the clean and press and the bent over rows, my back is taking a nice pounding. It can take it though...

Excellent lift! Sounds nice and intense...pushing or better yet pulling some good weight there

Well i was supposed to be training today but i ended up getting way to much sun and i'm absolutely beat. I'll train the next three days straight to get caught up.

That happened to me the holiday weekend in NH when I got home I was junk.

On a better note, at least the tan looks awesome....LOL! I'll be hitting shoulders tonight and arms tomorrow. Legs i'll be doing on my own on saturday.

Workouts are insane with the poundage moved, Jason.

what is body fat levels like would you guesitmate? your competitionis in November right?

trust me since this is your first bodybuilding competition you want to give yourself an extra couple of weeks.

I'm probably sitting at 10 or 11 percent right now. Abs are visible but not popping full time. All the bumps and lumps are showing in my back. I'm tentatively planning on november as long as danica's health continues to improve. Obviously that is my top priority right now, everything else is secondary.

10 - 11 is the place to be, you must have lost some weight ?

Shoulders

Barbell Military Presses 135x10 / 185x10 / 235x8

Hanging Dumbbell Laterals 25x10 / 30x10 / 35x10 / 40x8

One Arm Cable Rearl Laterals 30x10 / 40x10 / 50x8 w/ dropset 25x12

Rope Upright Rows sup/ Shoulder Bombs (Set 1) 160x10 & 20x10 (Set 2) 190x10 & 25x8
(Set 3) 220x8 & 15x10 (This superset was absolute annihilation of my shoulders, pumped and thrashed like no other)

Dumbbell Shrugs 100x10 / 120x10 / 140x10 (Felt weak on these due to the heavy upright rows....I think)

Notes:
- in terms of pump, this was one of the craziest shoulder workouts i've ever had!
- the caps to my shoulders are becoming incredibly pronounced, which is really starting to exaggerate my taper
- motivation in the gym right now is through the roof as i my normal training partner just started an anavar cycle and i intend to own him the entire time he is on just to prove a point!!!!!

This I love!!

AZ, my ego is fragile so i have to destroy him! Second place is the first loser....LOL!

Great shoulder work. Good to hear composition is improving as is the wife's health.

Thanks Kleen, all your guys good thoughts and prayers were much appreciated through this whole ordeal.

Listen to this man Jason,he just did a competition. My last has been a year ago.

I am serious give yourself extra time for getting the body fat off. Last year I came in fat for a body building, like 10 % a judge told me.I am within a couple close to that body fat now as last years showing. Ive got 14-15 weeks to go it is not going to be easy. easier than last time though,Thank God.

and I thought I was lean until I saw the guys that beat me, which were like 5 % or lower.

Actually i have lost a touch bit of weight. I'm sitting around 235 in the morning and i'm quite happy about this. I do understand that it's my first run and i will need more time, but things are still up in the air a little with my wifes health. Family always comes first, especially when it's the love of my life. I'm a firm believer that once my wife's health is better that i'll be able to make a more focused decision on what i'm going to do. The problem is that i won't know more until the end of august. When i do start my diet i plan to run it for 14 weeks to allow room for me to begin understanding my body and how it reacts to a diet. Plus it gives me ton of time to use you guys as a resource.

I am happy your wife is getting better. Your right family comes first. You do a great job taking care of both family and fitness.

Legs

Front Squats 135x5 / 205x5 / 275x5 / 345x3

Deadlifts 135x8 / 225x8 / 315x8 / 405x6 (Not bad for not deadlifting in a long time)

Leg Presses 200x10 / 400x10 / 600x10 / 800x10

One Leg Extensions 90x10 / 105x10 / 120x10

One Leg Curls 60x8 / 70x8 / 80x8

Notes:
- legs were trashed after todays workout
- deadlifts will be returning to the routine full time, preferably on back day
- damn happy with my front squatting but i'll be using higher reps next week to beat my muscles up differently
- calves will be done tomorrow as i was trashed after this workout

nice workout and I like your attitude about Family coming first. In fact yes My health and family's health come first before bodybuilding.

very strong buddy. Great lift, cant wait to see what your pulling with deadlifts once you start hitting them more regularly.

Havent done much front squats....but i hear they are excellent for quad development

I love front squats for what they do for my outer sweep and it doesn't crush my spine like regular squats do.

See i think back squats are far more comfortable then front squats....but i have never given them a far shot really. I dont mind the weight on my back as much as weight anywhere around clavicles. Already broke one of those lol.

The beginners should start on a Smith machine to get the form down and then do BB.

I will be starting on the Smith after the surgery, but for me it is the stabilizing control I am after with the new knee. Can't wait to start lifting real weight with legs again...

So this is my last week on this wonderful stack....I'll be giving my overall review at the end of the week.

Chest / Triceps

Incline Smith Machine Presses 135x10 / 205x10 / 275x10 / 345x6 (Strength dropped off due to making such a huge jump)

Weighted Dips BW+50x10 / BW+75x8 / BW+100x6 w/ dropset BWx7

Cable Crossovers (FST-5) 70x10 / 70x10 / 70x10 / 70x10 / 70x10

Incline Skull Crushers 115x10 / 135x8 / 155x6 w/ drop 80x12

Cable Pressdowns (FST-5) 190x10 / 180x10 / 170x10 / 160x10 / 150x10

Notes:
- absolutely crazy arm pump today, triceps just felt jacked right up
- pretty happy with my dipping strength
- felt aggressive as all bloody hell in the gym yesterday
- I'll be firing up my new log for Maniac, Motivate, and Recover Pro while also adding in some GPLC possibly

Both exercises are a killer for me but i need to destroy my triceps somehow.

If you use decline tri extensions with a straight bar bringing the bar to the top of the head and extending back rather than up it helps in two ways. 1) There is more preasure on the back of the tricep away from the elbow. 2) You can use lighter weight for greater benefit as this exercise streches the muslce more and is more difficult to do. Still caution has to be used to keep the elbows tight. You may already know all this but just in case. I have totally given up skull crushers. Extensions have given me really badass Triceps, along with close grip bench of course, which are not all that easy on the elbows either but have not figured out a replacement.
