why is it bad for anyone younger than 21 to take aas or prohormones?

alright I know im gonna get flamed for this but this question is completely rhetorical. I know that the bodies endocrine system is still developing at this time but what makes it bad to take aas or prohormones during this time? please no flaming I am just curious to know the scientific reasoning behind this.

Thanks guys,

Questions is how you learn! Im glad you where not afraid to ask! In short yes your body is still developing, basically in laymans terms, your body has plenty of test running through it, it is still producing plenty of test, when you put artificial test (found in aas) your body will stop producing its own test, thus if you do this while you are still developing your body has the potential to never recover and produce its own test even when a proper pct is ran....so your basically ****ed

a normal person will have plenty of natty test and gh to grow on. there is simply NO NEED for hormones at a younger age.

more than damage to the endocrine system, i steer the younger away from it because teens tend to "overuse" and "abuse" substances.....not only damaging their endo, but the rest of their development (physical and mental) as well as bodily organs

what if someone had relatively low test to begin with and ran a proper pct? and doesnt anyone who uses aas have that risk of your body never producing its own test again even if the proper pct is ran? is it more of a risk to someone younger?

They will also potentially prematurely close up your growth plates. Lots of kids that start young could have easily been inches taller!

Like said above, it can do lot's of damage. I know lots of people who started at 17-20 and ended up on HRT..

In theory, if you were to suppress estrogen on cycle, you growth plates wouldnt be prematurely shut. Also, not every human being is perfect, so everyone needs to stop being ignorant. Not every teenager has 1000 ng/dl total test levels or even close to that area. Not all teens produce the same amount of GH or IGF-1. Some teens have under active thyroids. So stop saying you produce massive amounts of test your teenage years; you dont know that until you get a blood test. Im not condoning teenage AAS usuage, im just saying. Hell, most teens nowadays binge drink, eat fast food and get inadequate sleep; their test levels is probably low.

So, if someone slashed 3 of your car's tires, are you gonna slash the 4th one?

Lol, that makes it even worse. Binging drinking, no rest, and poor diet is sure to lead to all kinds of problems with AAS.

There's really not much we can do about it though. It's human nature, if someone wants to do it bad enough, they will. :)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Tyler3295 again.

Cause your test levels are still really high into your early 20's. And you'll be a short dude as well (your growth plates will stop)

Im pretty sure the OP just posted some questionable blood tests on another site. Thats why you dont take steroids at a young age!

Lots of people? can you give some examples

there is nothing bad about it, ur just ****in up ur hormone system for a long time, but u still gain muscle LMAO

That IS the example. I have several older friends now on HRT from starting too young.

how do you know they did proper pct's? There are people who get messed up who are old enough too and just dont do the proper pct. what makes someone younger different? I think maybe they just tell younger people not to do it because they arent responsible enough. im pretty sure arnold started when he was around 16 and hes had kids.

it seems like ur fishing for ppl to tell u that its ok to use steroids at a young age.

its not, plain and simple

how does it seem like that? telling me its not isnt telling me anything i havent heard before. If you read the original post it says i want to know WHY. the reason i want to know is because i have don tons and tons of research on steroids and pct regiments and have also seen people start at an early age. I just want to know the reasoning behind it and so far no one has an answer.

ive seen plenty of people over the age of 21 with questionable blood counts too. thats not proving anything. I didnt take a proper pct that is why my blood counts were screwed.

As i've said before, my reasons are a bit different...

1. Most teens do not possess a lot of money therefor they usually have enough to score a cycle but that's it.

2. Insurance to correct any potential bad cycle fallout is usually lacking

3. Most that i've come across do not take a lot of time to figure anything else out... Especially when they're gaining muscle on cycle. They're more likely to run unsafe cycles to keep getting bigger while their training and nutrition disappear.

4. Long term effects are rarely looked at or even understood by young people who think they're invincible.

5. Teens are still bouncing around emotionally and adding external sources of instant emotion (during and post cycle) is just asking for trouble.

6. Because they're afraid of getting caught they are more likely to hide any problems arising from a bad cycle (infections from pinning etc)

7. Young kids just don't pay attention... Look at how many threads get locked and deleted from teens asking for advice without even looking at the rules.

8-20. They're teens...

For 99% of teens its a terrible choice, but I don't think its always a bad idea. It depends on the individual.

I used steroids at 19 and I don't regret a second of it. I'm 21 now, and I'm about to run another cycle.

I know this sounds rediculous, but in the process of using steroids, I learned a crap ton about the endocrine system. Im much more involved in research and my body. I found out that I've naturally had low T levels all my life and am now on HRT. If I had not used steroids, I would have never known. (NO, it was not the steroids that caused my low-T) It was learning about AAS that made me realize that 300ng/dl is not a normal T level for my age.

So, depending on the individual, you may or may not be ready to use.

I think that you can achieve great results by having a strict diet and working out the natural route. This will ultimately give you the longest lasting gains, with quality muscle mass and less injuries... However, lets be real, if you haven't worked out all your life and you are 30yrs old, theres no difference in taking steroids at 30 then taking steroids at 19.

So true!

so how old are u?

19

Well lets say I did have the money and wouldnt start a cycle untill I had all pct products ON HAND?

2. Insurance to correct any potential bad cycle fallout is usually lacking

my family has great insurance and I have gotten blood work done and gone to an endo because of problems I had after my cycle ( did not start doing research untill after. Now im a lot more educated but still am not ready for aas) so yes i admit I was stupid and did not do research before I started PH's but I didnt even know what they were at first. I just went to the supp store and bought what the guy told me was good.

well im on a fairly strict diet and would definitely prefer to stay away from unsafe cycles
4. Long term effects are rarely looked at or even understood by young people who think they're invincible.
trust me im very aware and i dont think im invincible at all after the scares I had on my last cycle

5. Teens are still bouncing around emotionally and adding external sources of instant emotion (during and post cycle) is just asking for trouble.
I can see this side of the argument for sure.

6. Because they're afraid of getting caught they are more likely to hide any problems arising from a bad cycle (infections from pinning etc)
I would tell my parents in a second. Ive already talked to my mom about me taking aas and she doesnt support it but im 19 and she cant really stop me. Not saying I am going to because I havent made up my mind yet and im not as educated as id like to be on the bodies endocrine system and everything that can go wrong on and off cycles to go on them yet.

7. Young kids just don't pay attention... Look at how many threads get locked and deleted from teens asking for advice without even looking at the rules.
I think you are speaking for the majority of the teen population. Not every teen is immature and doesnt care about their bodies.

Well im definitely not ready in my opinion to use yet. Not exaggerating one bit; I do hours and hours of research everyday on steroids, their side effects, post cycle regiments, blood work, and peoples problems coming off of them and what they did wrong. I want to know exactly what im doing before I ever mess with my hormones again.

Thanks for the educated discussion guys. Lets keep this going. I'm learning a lot here. is there anyone else against the use of aas or for it under 21?
