Man I wasn't away from here long but missed a lot. So going back up towards 200 before the cut Snags, that should be awesome. Had what looked like some great workouts too, way to keep the train steaming ahead.

Looks familiar to mine Snag just no extra protein and bread.

yeah that's competition-prep fare there (for me anyway)..
been a long time, but brings back memories of my keto lifestyle. a can of tuna, some eggs, and a grapefruit was a typical breakfast..can't believe I did that for about 4yrs! :scared:

Yah I like my hot cereal in the morning, and I seem to be doing fine with it right now thanks to AP or Glycobol. I may have to go fruit and protein on my first meal down the road but it would be my last adjustment along with my conversion to the fish/milk fed veal diet.

Let me clarify a few things since I seem to sound like a keto dieter; I am not! This is the same diet in the OEP manual, I take 5 grams of fish oil with this meal and 2-3 pieces of turkey bacon as well... I am actually pretty full when I am done. The move away from first meal complex carbs has really helped keep me from gaining fat hence why I am doing it; actually without even being focused on fat loss I continue to slowly lose it with this approach. I do throw in a P-SLin refeed in the mornings with lots of carbs for breakfast though :). Love me some whole wheat pancakes and oatmeal.

all right, rolling into the back half of the week.
so days 1-3 are weight days, day 4 is a rest day, that makes today..

Day 5: Chest/Shoulders/Abs

Incline DB Press
4x12-15

Flat Bench BB Press
4x20/16/12/8

Flat DB Flyes
4x8

Standing DB Laterals superset w/ Bent DB Laterals
6x12 each

Upright Row
3x20/15/10

Abs
200 reps total

just a ridiculous day, really. I tell ya, I haven't used a 'N.O. product' for awhile now, other than the arginine in Jack3d. but these pumps I been getting, feels just stupid. it culminated today into almost a painful pump the whole time, and when I reached failure on couple of my sets, I mean it was failure! my chest was so pumped it hurt. and the shoulders, with that superset -- eeeesh man, I mean it was really insane. :dunno:
I had to dig down deep to keep going - not from lack of energy but just from being too pumped!
I was on fire! :hammer: :yikes:

there ain't nothing wrong with that man, not at all.
there are purposes for which different diets are better suited. that's the great thing once you understand nutrition and the effects it has on the body - you can do all kinds of different things to aid whatever goal you may have.

there is no 'one-size-fits-all' plan.

You have said this and I am a firm believer after a lot of trial and error over about 2 years. I have a lot more to learn but am finally starting to dial in what works for my body in certain situations thanks to help you from you, DW, Kleen, and many others here on AM to mention a few. Great log as well Snag, always enjoy following along and will be doing some high dose BCAAs on my upcoming cut per some of your own recommendations; doesn't hurt LGs product was on sale for 12.99 either!

Yah, I am really in the dark about how effective nutrient partitioning really is in terms of carb control during cutting. Seems to be fine so far but I still may have to go really low carb. I know they do something I can feel it, but how much it's hard to say. One thing I will say is the uptake of nutrients with oats or 7 grain hot cerail after a fasted cardio session seems miraculous, like I turn into a sponge or something. For that reason I am hoping that I may not have give up morning carbs.

hard telling DW..you know in my preps, I went into a keto diet w/ every third day carb meal for awhile, and this worked fantastically for me.
there are guys who run carbs all the way thru prep, manipulate a little at the end, and they look great too.
it's all about learning what route you need to take.
even with nutrient repartitioners, there are those metabolisms that need to get down to very low carb to get that last bit of leanness going on.
this is when you rely on BCAAs even more! ;)

Yah my instinct is to cut the carbs 3 weeks out, Grapefruit and eggs here we come. I will also really be loading up on fibrous carbs like brocolli, Cauliflower, snow peas, grean beans and bell peppers.

If I am throwing in a lot of fibrous carbs I really don't miss complex carbs all that much, especially if OEP/Recreate is in the picture. Sounds like you got a plan there DW, get to it and you will come in the best you have ever looked for sure.

Fibrous carbs are a real gem in the last stages, they keep your calorie intake up a little but speed your metabolism, you probably use more calories to digest them than they contrain. It's win, win... It's a very tough diet though...

True that DW, since I am taking nothing to maintain strength I am struggling in that department but all will change Monday with the addition of TNA!

nonsense. :nono:

it is what you make it DW.
eyes on the end prize, ..the goal.
little things like rigid diet are just a formality to what we need to do.

:hitwithrock:

Yah I need to do it of that I have little doubt. I will be moving close to an outdoor market in a couple weeks so I know where I'm gettin my veg on!! Better vegtables = more fun!!

You know the stricter I make my diet the more I like being on a diet. I have a hard time sometimes with things not being set in stone and on a schedule. I just get a little all over the place. I did well with boot camp and all of that stuff because of the regimented lifestyle actually catered to my ADHD. I found being on a strict diet or schedule forces me to keep my eye on the prize instead of the butterfly that just flew by... Wait what are we talking about???

i think its about time i just get subbd to this log instead of always looking it up

Been studying ur logs for awhile snag...good stuff in here...good stuff

Yah we have to be anal with our planning, tunnel vision!! Fuggin butterflies!!

This sums me up to a "T" Kleen. My wife always says I should have been in the marines or some military.

Ditto here. I'm uber-anal when it comes to my routine. Everything is planned out to a "T" and I allow NO room for wavering from my plan.

As Friedrich Neitzche said, "A man without a plan.....is not a man"!! :deal:

Right, we aren't as bad off as we think we apparently have our own community.

so some legs on tap here in a bit, thought I'd lay out the rough game plan going forward while I'm simmering & brewing for the session.. :firedevil:

tomorrow marks the final weight session in the rotation, ends week #1. a cascade of changes follows for me, as I'll be dropping Prime :( and making some other tweaks..SuperCissus will go away, as I cycle off this for 4 weeks, bring it back at start of tennis season. I debated on this, since I love hi-dosing SC when I'm cutting, but I've been on my share during this rehab & follow-up schematic, time to give it a break.
time to give Jack3d a rest as well.
PowerFULL will remain in play for awhile, another 4 weeks, along with TNA, as will OEP+RC. AP/Pslin used as needed. Pslin was utilized today for my 650cal/100g carb breakfast. :yup: :hammer:

but the main goal will continue, that being chiseling things down and making improvement in muscle hardness, while increasing performance in the training.

I'll also run this log a bit further, but not on an everyday basis. I do want to hang around and show the final physique when I get done with my scheme.

:grouphug:

...hey, where's Metroba? keep an eye on that guy in the circle hug there..

Yeah he may get the wrong idea with the rainbow coalition colors in that hug too. LOL

:grouphug:

...hey, where's Metroba? keep an eye on that guy in the circle hug there..

Yeah, he has an international approach. He has "Russian" hands and "Roman" fingers!!! Read and say it phonetically.....you'll get it.

:biglaugh:

Snag,

new to this site....awesome thread by the way. Have a question, in all of your meals you have posted and the other comments of diet, I do not see any metion of "quinoa"; do you not include this in your diet for a paticular reason? thx

welcome to AM! glad you found my thread. :welcome:

funny you bring that up - my wife mentioned the other day she wants to get some quinoa. I just don't use it myself, have my few things I like and pretty much roll with it.

sweet taters, FTW! :hammer:

probably the most nutrient dense food in existence.
(seems like I've said that in here before)

Some things are worth repeating.
For one thing, sweet taters are loaded with potassium. And that's something we all need. Flushes the sodium out of our systems and improves circulation.
Then there's the beta-carotene. And then......well, I'm just preaching to the choir now. :soapbox:

last day in the cycle..was a great note to end on!

Day 7: Arms/Back/Abs

ARMS (first)
EZ-Bar Curls: 5x12-15
