Metroba tries out teh MMV3s

I've got cerrrzay doms in my biceps which I NEVER have..my traps are very sore (not sure which exercise did this one to me). I've been carbing up like crazy lately thanks to SLIN! I am amped to see what kind of strength/endurance gains I make tomorrow! :woohoo:
:djparty:

I <3 DC!

yeah, no doubt. If i was actually bulking instead of light cut/recomping, i bet i'd make crazy gains. as it is i'm making solid gains

Now imagine you were doing it for the last 1.5 years, rather then giving it up after a couple weeks;)

DC has to be a lifestyle, it isn't a training program you read in flexx magazine, do it for a month, then move onto the next flavor of the month.

haha yeah I know..I've really missed out :sad3:..you live and learn tho...and I am grateful to have learned this now then never at all :clap2:

I started DC about 2 yrs ago and have never looked back. I wish I had known about this when I was younger. I love the intensity you have to bring to the w/o and the low volume/time needed to make great gains. My 17 yr old is growing like a weed with it!!

I can only imagine. How much weight has he put on with it? How long has he trained DC?

DC is the epitome of the perfect workout for me. I wish I had started earlier... but I actually think I may have hurt myself if I didn't develop the foundation I have now.

Werd up to that. I just wish I had a training partner so I could do the static holds. I bet they add so much more to it..just like the stretches.

I'm kinda at the same point in my workouts. I really wish I could convert some of the pansys that work out at my gym to do DC with me. I tried to convince one guy and he literally said he was scared it would hurt to bad after watching my face during my chest stretches. F*ckin *****.

Experienced partner. I have a partner that has been working out for 4 months. It's like being alone

You are better off. Guy sounds like a total bitch..would only slow you down.

I feel ya man.

:usa:

He has been on it about 2 yrs like me. He is sitting at 195 lbs w/10% BF now and started about 170. He had been w/o with weights for about 4 years before that so his form is good to go.

Hes a lucky kid :)

I feel ya.. On a few occasions, i had a friend want to start lifting with me, and after i teach them all the ins and outs, they workout for 2-3 weeks, and quit.

I am to the point where i am fine training alone. A good partner, would be great, but id rather be alone than have some half assed partner.

Tru dat. My favorite kind of partners are the one's that are just at my strength or slightly stronger (& vice versa) depending on the exercise. It makes it competitive & more motivating and you don't have to change the weight between sets.

I haven't had that in awhile, so it's just me and the mp3.

anyone feel like explaining the cruise to me in DC? how often you do one, and what you do

When you feel you need it(ie. starting to get run down, log book stalling, starting to feel beat up and lost the desire to smash the log book) The idea is to listen to your body, and do it before you are totally beat to ****.

Take 7-14, and either just go into the gym and **** around, going light, no where near failure. Or take off. I usually just take it completely off.

I've only been going about 3 weeks so far and feel good, but since I wanted to drop some additional fat before a new strength/mass phase soon, I was thinking about taking 2 weeks of no DC, just probably daily cardio and no weights at all. I may go 1 more week and see. Its just near impossible to manage DC on a caloric deficit. I need to watch the "nutrition" portion of Jason's video.

Man up, son..lol jk.

I dont have that problem, even with my **** genetics. Last year when i dieted i got calories down to about 1300/day, with 5hrs cardio a week, and was still making progress. **** right now, i am at 1800 cal, with 5 days of cardio:)

I focused on my nutrition surrounding my workouts, and found some things that worked VERY well for me.

Maybe try less of a deficit. What type of diet are you currently eating? And what does your pre/intra/post meals/supplements look like.

Its all varied, I've tried a ton of different things. Seems to be working ok doing the caloric cycling of 3000ish workout days and 1500 non workout. Its mostly recovering from quads/hams that is hard. Its probably also the 15 years old than you i am :)

Ya, most def is a factor.

But your test, says you are 15 years younger then me..haha

With your calories where they are, you shouldn't be in that much of a deficit(overall).

What worked for me was keeping protein high, and consuming bcaa's through-out the day, and added pepto-pro to my pre-intra-post workout. I love that stuff, one of the only "supplements" i use, if you can even call it that.

Yeah, but even with the test levels like that, I still have a hard time recovering that fast to be at 100% next workout. Its definitely better at higher cals, and with carbs. I think I just need to not be trying to pursue both goals at once, and complete the cut to where I want to be, then go back to DC hard for the lean bulking.

I like DC's philosophy(and most of the VETS that i talk to) that bulking and cutting is a waste, and it just slows down gains, big time(unless doing a show). I would just have calories/cardio where you are not gaining fat at any appreciable rate, but gaining strength/muscle.

When i worked with SKIP from intense muscle, he had my diet spot on. I was recomping like i didn't think possible, for me, naturally.. We took it super slow, I lost less then 10lbs in about 6mon, but made big changes. I probably lost 12+% bf, while only losing 9-10lbs.

As for the hams/quads thing. What is your current exercise selection for them?

Oh, and don't be afraid to skip a day if need be. Sometimes when starting to feel like i was getting close to the end of a blast, i would skip a friday, like a mini cruise, and that one day would extend my blast by a couple of weeks, and do the trick!

I definitely agree with the overall diet philosophy, but right now i'm still fatter than I want to be, and want to look good for the Olympia :)

yesterday was sumo leg press and hack squats, previous was lying leg curls and free squats, other is seated leg curl and regular leg press

Easy, listen to Imprez because the man knows what he is talking about.Imprez, how cool was that to train under Skip? He looks like one intense guy. First off Easy, I am 50 and still able to get it done with DC training. Granted, my blasts are down to about 6 weeks now but I can still throw it down. Your body will give you all the signs you need to let you know when to cruise. I have done both types of cruises: no weights and very light cardio or weights up to the numbers from the blast but not to failure. It is a time to heal the muscles/joints and recouperate the CNS. As far as cutting while doing DC...I just focus my big carb meals around the w/o and cut any real carbs out later in the day. On non w/o days the carbs are done by lunch time. It is deffinitely something that can be accomplished.

Man, I wish my dad got me into the gym like you. Don't get me wrong, my dad was the person who first introduced me to the gym... but he didn't really know much to do other than basic lifts and cardio. Never really PUSHED me to work out.

I would kill to go back to 17 and have 4 years lifting under my belt... he is gonna be a monster AZ!

Me the same G. My Dad was never a factor in my life. As for the kid...here is his incline DB rp set from yesterday: 95*12-4-3. The guy is getting friggin strong now. Dad will be in the rearview soon...

I loved it. I actually just stopped, after about 14months. I would like to sign back up, after i pay off some toys..lol

Honestly, i was already very good/knowledgeable with diet, etc, but wanted to see someone elses approach, and how they do things, pick up some tips and tricks. Every prep/diet guy does things different, so it was nice to see how i responded to his methods(which are VERY unique btw)

At the time i was becoming a supp-whore spending 100+ a month on supps, trying every new thing that came out. I figured the money would be better spent on skip. What i learned is priceless, and will stay with me for life. It is awesome to have someone BE OBJECTIVE, and cut through the bull****, and tell you like it is.

Everything is custom with him, as well. Communication was excellent. I would hear from him daily, if not multiple times a day.

I would seriously suggest anyone who is downing every new supp, ditch them, and invest in something like that. Everyone says their diet is perfect, but year after year, they are spinning their wheels. I mean, even super advanced guys like Dusty hire Dante, and a prep guy..lol It always pays to have that objective eye.

I said the same thing to him..lol Az- when your kid goes to college, let me know if you want to addopt a 26 year old..lol

I wish I hadn't waited till 39 to start weightlifting seriously :P

Ya that does suck.

I started at like 20.5 to 21.5 or so, but fell off from 22-24.5/25. Had to start from a high BF, with little muscle. Wish i would have started in HS, or stuck with it from 20 till now:(

I have never been much of a supp whore. I always had my protein powder and creatine/BA as staples. Food is the biggest +/- coefficient in the whole equation. If you can figure out how you react to it you are gold.

If you guys saw Imprez's before and afters from DC you would drop a brick in your pants..I feel very privalidged to have him in here to train me into DC. I weighed myself this morning and WOW!! I have gained 4 lbs!! and this is since I started DC. I have not gained any fat either! I took a pic of my lats today! and :jaw: They are WIIIDEEE!! I have never seen them this wide! Before is when i got off my ass, and in the gym.

One thing to note is before, i was eating like ****, so i was holding a ton of water, i pobably dropped 5-7lbs in my first week, dieting. After was taken carb depleted, after a carb up, i was typically around 192-5, so there is only really a 3-6lb weight difference there.

Sick workout man! Glad you are so enthusiastic about it! It is a great feeling huh?

It is funny because when i used to train high volume(5 to 6 days a week) i would get so burned out of the gym, DC leaves me sitting here, reading your workout, wanting to kill it right now..lol

Well I didn't mean that. My Dad's the best guy in the world, to me at least. He's always been a huge factor in my life. He just isn't interested in getting yoked. We did things like surfing, windsurfing, backpacking, and building things when I was younger. I am re-modeling my house now, and other than the really large tasks, am doing it completely myself... with a bit of my pop's help and advice along the way. I owe him all those skills. I would say I owe my determination, discipline, and drive to him, but that is indirect in relation to weight lifting, but I have applied all of those things that I learned from him to my workouts.

Wow, it doesn't even look like the same person! Good work bro.
