I'm ok with standing presses at 135 in a power rack. I don't call them squat racks, because there's a lot more that I find necessary to do in there.

That said, if the b*tch is warming up with anything less than 135, they are getting stared at.

I hear you with the multi-use of the rack. But the stares are easy to fly that way if the weights are small.

I have used the rack to curl but it was with the Olympic bar and it was a starting set of 135. Back in my younger and dumber days.
 
Well, I am back... briefly. I went to CO and had a blast over the weekend, but didn't get much of any exercise in, and I got off my diet track once or twice along the way. I'm back though, and while I didn't make a ton of progress over the weekend, I don't think I really lost any progress either. I'm gonna hit the gym today and tomorrow, then I am off to Houston for this next weekend. I'll be able to hit the gym probably twice in Houston, making this week complete unlike last week, when I missed a cardio session and had to do legs and shoulders together. It's been 5 days off, and I am rearing to go to the gym! Gonna go destroy my chest today, I'll log my last workout and today's workout later tonight. When I get back from Houston, I'm gonna start my Hdrol cycle.

I am visiting my sister and her boyfriend for the weekend. I haven't seen her since she moved away.

Cool. I bet Houston is a fun town. Never been to Texas at all. I've always wanted to try to take down the Big Texan's steak challenge. The 72 ounce steak. MMMMM, meat.

I did watch Joey"Jaws" Chestnut eat that thing in like 10 minutes on youtube. Made me ill. Blood everywhere. But for $50 I'd give it a shot.

Though I don't eat big like that. I eat a lot all through the day but not is mass quantity like that.

Though I have handled the Godzilla Burger at Eagle's Deli in Boston. Pound of burger and pound of fries. Pretty stuffed after that. But it was tasty, each bite. Though they have like 3 burgers above that. I think the big one is 4 and 4. The fries are what kills you.

I have been known to plow through some eats. Sushi? Forget it. Sashimi expecially. Tuna and Salmon. Awesome. If I could afford it I'd eat it more.

And I've never really counted the cals.

But I'll give the break down of today's food so far.
Had the cup of oat meal with 1 scoop Whey 1 Casein at 6 AM.
9:30 banana
Noon. Turkey on one slice stone ground wheat. horseradish sauce.
2 cups cottage cheese.
no fat cheese stick
2 clementines
In about 3 minutes it will be Greek Yogurt.
Then dinner around 6ish. Which has been mostly lower carbs and protein.
Then I'll have a shake before my last round of pills and bed. like at 9.

It doesn't seem like a lot because I'm always hungry.

Strangely though, I have been losing bodyfat fairly quickly, and I weighed myself again on monday, and I weighed in at 194. Pretty good loss of fat for only a 2lbs loss overall. When I get back from Houston I'll put up some progress pictures. I just have to stay away from the bars when I am out there... my sis is my little sis, and she still has a few parties left in her. I was told to bring my drinking shoes :lol: , whatever that means...

I'm not gonna be drinking much. 2 coors light's and I am on my way, much more than a few beers and I'll probably be puking. :lol: I can remember the nights when I would finish a medium size bottle of jagermeister and a one litre Dr. Pepper to myself. :684:

I drink about 3 times a year. But when I do, I almost always drink to just the brink of death unfortunately.
 
Lol, i nearly died when i was in Germany. 3/4th bottle of bacardi 151. 4th of July. Fell asleep naked on my bathroom floor.
 
When I was in college my freshman year I took a fifth of Bacardi Limon in a beer bong on a bet. I came to 14 hours later flung over a chair in my room covered in my own vomit after apparently passing out face first in the snow outside.

I made $100 that night. Totally not worth it. I wasn't right for weeks!

My first weekend of college in Santa Barbara I went to opening weekend keggers at Isla Vista (the west coast party capitol for those of you who aren't informed about Isla Vista). I witnessed something so brutal I have yet to see anything compare.

I walked in on a party, and apparently someone had done this before and his friends were egging him on to do it again. No joke, this guy pulls out this little waterpipe, fills it with vodka, rips a bowl and then procedes to pound the vodka from the bong. It is hands down the most impressive/disgusting/horrifying/stupid-yet-awesome thing I have ever seen go down at a party.
 
Can't even smell Vodka(convulsions)...past life experience.
 
Workout Updates - Last week's legs/Shoulders and This week's Pushing workous.

Legs
Squats - I have been working on getting as deep as possible, and controlling the movement with my muscles rather than just dropping down and forcing the weight back up. It has taken a toll on what I "thought" I could squat, but my legs are reaping the benefits. Pretty much all my exercises are being tapered back in weight and I have been concentrating on impeccable form. The results have been almost instantaneous.

Squats - 135x15; 205x12, 225x10, 225x9, 185x10
Calf raise superset with leg press - 3 platesx20, 4 platesx15, 5platesx12, 6 plates x8 EACH
Quad extentions - 130x20, 170x12, 200x8,
Hammy curls - 60x15, 70x15, 80x11

Shoulders
Military smith press - 25'sx20, 45'sx15, 45's and 25's x12 , same for 8 reps, drop to 25's x18
Arnolds - 35x15, 45x12, 55x8
Lateral Raise/front raise superset - 15x15, 20x12, 25x10 each
upright row - barx20, 95x15, 115x12, 135x8
reverse pec dec - 70x15, 90x12, 100x8

Pushing
Chest- I have been experimenting with different benching styles, and I have started taking the bar all the way DEEP into my chest, instead of stopping 1 inch above like I used to. I have been having to back off in weights and gotten some serious DOMS in my chest today. I think I was cheating the movement from my chest and still using more triceps and shoulder to press it before. I am going so deep it is almost like a pause at the bottom of the lift, I really feel the difference.

Bench - 135x10, 205x8, 205x7, 185x9, 155x10
Incline Bench 135x10, 145x10, 155x8 WAAAY low numbers, but great stretch and form.
Decline bench - 135x10, 185x8, 185x8
DB pull over - 60x15, 70x12, 75x10

Triceps
Skull Crusher - 25sx15, 35sx10, 40'sx9, 25's x20
lying db tricep extention... like a skull crusher but with db's. 25x10, 30x10, 35x9
Cable pressdown v grip - 70x10, 80x9

Leaning up more, seeing more vascularity each workout, I feel like I am getting thinner. I still have a ways to go though. I am soon to be out of my Napalm, and will be switching to dermatherm by PP. I'll let you guys know when I make the switch.
 
You get a much better mind/muscle connection when you really control the negative. Yes the weight #'s decrease at first but, they will bounce right back up soon. Good stuff G.

That's the idea. I'm about 20 lbs heavier than I was in that picture at the moment, and my BF honestly isn't much above that... so we'll all see. I have no time limit on my cut/recomp, so if it takes until August to get where I want to be, so be it.

The Greek is good stuff. Chobani? It has a pink label. Sour but yummy. Chick I know got me into it. Decent protein for a small serving. Not cheap is right.

So I have no real clue about food. I try to keep my night time carbs down and eat smaller during the day. How or what to change is open for suggestion. I don't want to be a hijacker but this is the summer cut log so why not inquire here?

I get the FAGE brand... Quite the rage here in NYC, pretty much the only brand that whole foods carries, plus they actually have individual servings in delis and stuff like that. The individual ones come with a side of honey or sugary fruit (unnecessary)... I've been having a serving of FAGE with Bear Naked Granola or Whole Foods Granola. Bear Naked is great, the Chocolate only has 5 grams of sugar. I would never have that on a cut, but my body needs extra carbs right now.

Dude, none of us give a f*ck about hijacks from our friends. You can even post it in your log for advice. I'd say post your diet for a couple days, and you'll probably get 30 or 40 suggestions... Just pick 3 or 4 small changes and see how it works.

As a rule of thumb, you'll probably end up pulling back on carbs a bit. I've had a lot of success with limiting carbs to PostWO, along with a bit in the morning (oatmeal) and then maybe an apple or banana midday. You sound pretty damn clean already.
 
Your diet sounds like a fine diet for you, it's really pretty close to mine. In fact I have no idea how you keep 300 lbs on you with that diet.

Dude, you're 300 pounds. Losing a little mass wont kill you.

The late night carbs would probably need to go first to get the scale to move south. What kind of carbs are you eating at night?

i work out just after lunch, and limiting carbs till the next day is fine - however, if i don't get a high carb breakfast, i'll start getting wicked headaches till i get some serious carbs in me - minimum 50g. if you can taper down your carbs from post workout till bed, then refuel carbs in the morning, you should get a higher GH spike at night which should help you achieve your goals.

you can also do fasted cardio upon waking with a bcaa product to maintain your muscle mass, and/or a GH booster pre bedtime.

i think an issue lies in you trusting the scale - if you gain two pounds of muscle and loose two pounds of fat, the scale will tell you that you're not progressing. every two weeks, measure your girth at your belly button. if the numbers don't change, you need to step up your diet/cardio :) IMO.

Sunny follows a practice that I do. My biggest carb meal of the day is breakfast. I taper off carbs and use veggies as the day goes on. The latest carb days are my w/o days because of the post meal carbs and that is on Mon,Wed,Fri. I don't go by the scale Matt..I go by the mirror. The scale doesn't know the difference between 300 pounds of muscle or 300 pounds of fat??
