Snag's New 'USPlabs Asteroid Armageddon Assault'

All this leg talk is making me cry! I decided that, since I had not had a debilitating injury in some time, I should tear my calf:

Invalid Link Removed

This was about two hours after it happened. Over the next week or so it turned odd hues of dark blue, purple and black!

uuu how that happen?

Mullet, I guess you're, "Binging on pure ****ing pain," now eh?
Sorry, I had to. :D

I wish you a speedy recovery - ouch.

I wish I was binging on pure ****ing 'ludes, as to restore my ambulating faculties!

Loading 45s onto these machines via crutches looks, and feels, quite ridiculous Iron!

Hahahaa! Yeah, but you do what you have to right now. No need in destroying yourself more so.
Remember, you either take the time to heal now, or time will take it from you. Food for thought. :D

Extending at the top of a DL, and my calf just felt like it ripped in half. Screamed out loud and dropped 4 plates in a huge "thud".

That sounds nasty. I hope it heals properly. Give it the time and rest it needs.

Good post! Give it time to heal, Mullet!

arggggg...sorry to hear man... I know that unfortunate feeling I tore my biceps tendon on the negative rep of a bicep exercise 5 weeks ago...nothing like that rip >>scream of the F word>>>drop of weight

An artistic culinary delight to let ya'll drool on while I get to updating things..

SAT -- off

SUN -- ran fasted training (FT) upon-rising protocol due to time constraints; moved to 300x3x10 on flat bench successfully.

MON -- liked FT so much yesterday thought I'd run it again today, as I continue towards my goal of tightening things up a bit. Weight upon rising was 205.4, feeling harder.

TUE -- will be off day tomorrow.

Weather permitting, once it starts warming up in the mornings I'll begin throwing some tennis in the mix.

Day #15

Humming right along..flat bench progressed to 330 for my 10x3's. Felt good thruout. I swapped out seated pulley rows for the bent rows I've been doing; first time I've really done any substitution in this program but I felt the need for something different. Had planned on some ab work today but I was rather spent after the 10 sets.. :684:

Snag, I always do the ABs as my pre w/o warm up...no excuses then for skipping. 330 bubba....dayamn!!

I forced myself to do abs today :happysad:

I go twice a week...one day for endurance and the other for strength.

I also do core exercises at home several times a week, when I do my stretches, there is a lot of benefit for the abs with these exercises. I am waiting for my ex-trainer/partner to come out with his new ab apparatus... he calls it the Turtle and he's tried it out with some martial arts groups, with good success.

My gym has the most archaic but effective oblique machine I have ever seen. It looks a tad like a merry-go-round cut in half: you sit on an island, so to speak, and two long handles with padding on the very bottom [looks like an upside down 'T'] extend in front of you. To use it, you place your elbows on the pad, grip the handles, and twist side to side [it is weighted]. Very intense.

Send up a pic so we can see it! Sounds like something u might be able to make if so inclined if u had a mig welder and some time!

nobody gives a damn what you say you'll do unless you follow through
ain't that the truth..

Day #16

Well today just sucked..lethargy was off the chain this morning and I just couldn't get myself focused on the task of heavy legs. So..ran some light parallel squats/calves (sets of 20) and did couple sets of abs. Might have to shake things up a bit w/ the training anyway. Tennis tentatively planned for tomorrow morning, and baseball has begun; can't be annihilating myself like I have been and still function well in the sports. My mind might have something to do with the lethargy as well -- I get bored in the same routine easily. I really wanted to run all the way thru this program tho, as I think the 3rd month really brings on some explosive growth.. have to think about what I'm gonna do.

yeah..where is that dude?? :ntome:

Dang Casey, looking pretty scary in your avi there, kinda intimidating bro.. :worried:

Says the guy with an Avi like you have... Hell of a compliment.

That pic is from when Mullet told me we could no longer be BFF's. Moment captured on film.

Why was I not informed of this ?!

I'm in :D

Snag, picked some Uni-Liver™ up this morning. :D.....

Sounds as if some area were littered with Uni-Liver™, waiting to be picked up! Howdy, my friend? :biglaugh:

It must be the hot weather ... and by that I mean 15C . Wait till we come out of our igloos during the summer, then it gets real interesting :nervous:
ooooo..heat wave.. :wave2:
. . . . A late starter, I am - in for the fun and education
It's not how ya start, it's how ya finish bro! ;)
Glad to have you here JKP.

Day #17

Well that was better..great session this morning. Wife was feeling under the weather, so tennis gets pushed back to tomorrow, which is an off day from weights so works well.
So I ran out my decline close-grip bench/standing barbell curl 10x3's today, felt strong thruout (weight was PR for both!), 45sec rest between sets for most part.
I'm itching to run some Prime in the mix, for added recovery mostly, but I'd like to get that ultra-intense razor-sharp focus back on a daily basis! Haven't received my package yet, but when I do this'll be added..
I've thought about my workout plan-of-attack, and what I'm leaning towards right now is starting up 'Month 3' portion of the workout next Wednesday..this final portion of the Freak Workout is a DC-type plan that, while still utilizing basic movements, brings some other exercises into play as well, more of a body-builder type plan. Been awhile since I ran some DC sets, I think this would be the right time to make the move..

Better recovery was the one thing I didn't seem to get from Prime... granted my workouts were nuts... could be the reason...

Wow no kidding..that was one of my most noticeable results from Prime.
And focus..intensity..strength..alpha-male on-top-o-the-world feeling..
Oh, I guess there were a few notable things to mention.. :p

Mmmmm..this tasted a lot better than it looked..

2 cups stri-fry broccoli
6oz Albacore tuna
4 egg whites
stir-fried in 1/2 TBS olive oil
light salt/pepper/cayenne pepper/soy sauce
2 peices Ezekiel on the side

Actually that looks really good...or maybe its just that I am real hungry :)

Dude, you're always hungry.. :food:

:o well I am trying to still gain weight...I mean eating 3800-4000cals a day and still barely moving on the scale. Good thing I am hungry though because it makes eating more not a problem...

PS I had salmon on the grill when I saw your pic so it increased the hunger I was already feeling from anticipation of my meal!
