creatine preferences

im gonna get some creatine mono and want to know if i should throw it in with my white flood pre-wo (but i heard it doesnt go well with caffeine) or post wo with my protein+milk
or of course if there are any better ideas
 
You know it really is a topic that is up in the air, although most pre workout product contain CrM and caffeine. I have seen the studies stating do not mix CrM and caffeine, as you all know, one of the primary ways creatine works is by loading the muscles with water,which why consuming large amounts of water is such a critical part of effective creatine supplementation. On the other hand,caffeine has a diuretic effect,it draws water out of the muscles and the body. So if you take your creatine simultaneous with your caffeine, you’ll tend to cancel out the cell-volumizing effects of the creatine.

Now I don't know quite what amount of caffeine is needed to effect the creatine though.
 
the diuretic effect of caffeine is very little (unless taking upwards to 600mgs per dosage)... and the creatine mono cell volumizing effect is far greater than caffeine's small diuretic effect... so i think it will be perfectly fine...
 
Never said it wouldn't be fine, I was just stating that there is that theory going around, and also why I said at the bottom, I'm not sure what dose of caffeine is needed.
 
yeah i know what u meant... i just didnt want him getting the impression that u could NEVER mix caffeine and creatine... i would think ud have to take much more than the average person... i take anywhere from 600mgs-1gram per dose and it still doesnt have much of a diuretic effect when im taken creatine... but everyone is different...

The dude you were quoting had the wrong idea about why caffeine and creatine aren't an ideal combo. Caffeine actually affects the creatine transporter, interfering with PCr levels and prolongs muscle relaxation time.

ok good post... i thought it was more complicated than that... are u suggesting we shouldnt take caffeine and creatine together... cause im still gonna do it...
 
Man I get bloated quick too. I wonder if German grade creatine is any better. If there is a difference.I know a guy who swears by it. He doesn't bloat. Im not sure if it's just him or the creatine.

It is worth a try if you haven't used Creapure before. It is the highest quality and purity creatine m. around.
 
Yup mono + White FLOOD would be a great stack, or you could even pick up some Green MAG - it's made to be mixed with WF and is pretty cheap as well

Mixing the two is obviously counterproductive(as the literature shows) but it's probably nothing to lose sleep over. Just take your creatine at another time during the day, away from caffeine. And before someone comes back with "but absorption is best with carbs PWO," that's true but at doses of 5g/day for prolonged periods there isn't really an issue with maxing out muscle saturation.

Controlled Labs, is 'Cinn' correct when she says that caffeine will render the creatine useless? I notice you telling people that stacking green mag w/ WF(obviously has stims) would be good..

My VPX NO Shotgun has stims and creatine as well.....


What gives?
