Snag's New 'USPlabs Asteroid Armageddon Assault'

Day #4: Feeling Increased Recovery

All right so other than product X, I started up everything April 1st. [Forgot to mention I did run HMB solely for about the last 3 weeks of March, ending as I started the USP stack.]
When I awoke today, I finally felt refreshed & recovered..the soreness (deep in the muscle) that I've been experiencing has not been fun. One of those love/hate things: love it cuz I know I'm getting some growth..hate it when I have to move!
Seriously tho, recovery has been the primary issue sans my USP supps, and I've missed that immensely. Nice to see that aspect coming back again! ;)
Looking forward to what I can accomplish this month in my training, as my physical activity level outside the weightroom picks up as well.

Definitely agree about that love hate thing over in Fin's log. I'm not quite sure how warm it is already in Indiana, but I'm looking forward to some outdoor hill sprints/runs by the lake soon (Although snow is in the forecast Mon-Wed :( )

Ben! Hell yeah it's been awhile..good of you to drop in! :D
Your legs are looking absolutely ridiculous in that pic brother, sheesh..guess I don't need to ask what you've been up to huh?
Any comps planned for this yr?
Thanks Steve!! That pic was quite a few weeks out from last falls show. I've been doin a little bit of growin...:D Not sure about comp. plans just yet. Looks as if you are bangin' it out somethin fierce! Great work... THICK!!!

WTF is this about?

Love hate about DOMS :) Steve and Steve concur.

I prescribe a day at the spa ;) But seriously, good luck with getting rid of the soreness. It sounded like a pretty intense day for you. DOMS is a love-hate thing for me, the stiffness is no fun but I can really feel the muscles getting bigger afterwards.

Snag, what are the doses and timings of the different supps?

Hahahaa!
Yes, I can see what you mean now.
*Slaps self on forehead with bottle of X-Force*
:D

Try it with Formex and report the difference. :bandit:

EVCO/EVOO (1 TBS each daily)
multi-vite (Beverly SuperPak w/ breakfast)
addtl vit C (500mg after training, 500mg w/ last meal of day)

Depending on?
Depending on my fat intake needs and what I've got planned to eat that particular day.. I'll range anywhere from 3g (min.) to 15-18g of fish oil daily, depending on what the dietary intake is and what I'm trying to accomplish with my physique at the given time.
I've even gone Poliquin-esque and run 30g fish oil a day before! That was back in my keto days tho.

Now clearer, thank you! I have heard a few times about this Poliquin approach, but I do not see myself doing 30g of fish oil daily. That would thin the blood like crazy and induce massive pro-oxidant effects. But, as they say, to each his own. Now, let's get more Asteroid! :D

Yeah, Poliquin's a pretty interesting dude. I've definitely evolved my thinking with some of his principles.. I agree, 30g fish oil is a tad bit excesive, but I am a huge fan of the fishy stuff!

All right, Asteroid Talk Time..
Recovery still seems to be on the upswing. PowerFULL doing it's thing..
Took a rest day yesterday (well needed), ready & raring to hit chest/back here shortly:

A1) Bench Press
A2) Bent Over Rows

3x10, 45sec rests, load is 10RM

I'll also throw some abs in the mix today.

If anyone wants follow this Freak Workout, you can find the Asteroid Manual .pdf here (the routine is towards the back of the e-book):

Thanks Snag, appreciate the info.

He's definitely a smart guy but I do feel he tends to jump on the band wagon a little too soon concerning... well almost everything. I find I can take some of what he says and apply it but never would I do exactly what he says. I sort of apply it to my current beliefs. That being said I never thought that nutrition was his strength...

Day #7
Weight upon rising at an even 207.0 this morning..me thinx that'll be enough of that.
I keep having these visions of pulled muscles (the torn calf from last summer when I was running around playing tennis @ ~200lbs still fresh in my mind). Can't have it.. I'd really like to focus on getting ripped-ish at 195ish right now, see if I can pull that one off.
I really think partial credit for the weight gain has to go to product x; it wasn't till after I started taking it that the weight gain started shooting up crazy. I've also noticed a burst of strength here lately -- after stalling out for awhile, I seem to have broken plateaus on everything. Sunday I did flat bench, 3x10 @ 295. My squat's been going up as well..
Off day today. I am fully recovered at this point, could do any bodypart if I needed to.

Couple dietary change notes:
Got my Beverly Ultra-40 liver tabs in, that'll be added to the mix; as well, I'll slim down the intake to @3200cals, raise the fats and protein a smidge while lowering the carbs.
This should help in stabilizing weight..

Asteroid "X" is on a collision course!! 207??? Massive Snag. Those are some nice numbers on the bench also bubba. Product X sounds promising...

This is what I get for not paying attention:pat:

Looking super swole Snagen beyoooottchh!! :1244:

Thanks fellas..

Day #8
Wow, I'm in a little shock right now..
Today was 10x3 day, bench/bent rows alternating sets. It was time to incrementally increase the bench load to 325 for my sets. While I wasn't afraid of not being able to handle the weight, I was a bit surprised with the ease in which it went. Really felt like I should've been playing w/ at least 335..got all 10 sets, all reps, no struggle.
I did kinda tweak my side when I handled the 125 DB's for rows in the warm-up, but no issues, subsided quickly.
Weight was stabilized at 206.9 upon waking, glad about that. It marks the first time in like 2+ weeks that I haven't had a daily increase in weight! Will continue macros as detailed yesterday.

How do you explain the sudden increase in strength ... couldn't be the XProduct could it...

Nahhh, couldn't be that!
LOL. Strength increases were being made in the first 3 weeks of the Freak training, then I kinda stalled out for 10-14 days or so as the upper/lower EOD splits came into play. Now that I've shifted into the next part of the program, I anticipated strength gains would come back..but the extent to which I've taken off in the last week is eyebrow raising. I'll give some 3-way credit for this: abundant healthy food consumption, training protocol, and product X (maybe not necessarily in that order!).. ;)

Like a duck to water...Whatever order it is Snag, you have taken to it and responded fantastically. I think this is more of a comet than an asteroid!!

Comet Snag

Day #9
Strength progression continues..I'm in a really weird zone right now. Lifts are absurdly easy, but I've lost my 'psychotic' drive & aggression that usually fuel my training. This is pretty shocking to me -- esp after taking off from supps/stims like I did last month. Jack3d should be rocking my world like days of old, but that's not the case. I'm just not getting into the mindset like usual..then when I start lifting tho, weight's moving like butter. Overall, I have to say my strength is at an all-time high right now..but it's just there, not like I have to dial myself in for it. That make any sense to anybody?
Anyway, worked some legs today, got 335 on normal stance BB squats 5x5's (I do squats instead of the prescribed leg press this day, as I do not have a LP machine).. The C&P is not an exercise I am versed in, as I've not done this much thru the yrs, so I'm still feeling this one out. Used 185 & 205 for my 5x5's today -- 205 was heavy! esp at the end of this session. 2min rest periods seemed to take forever, not used to resting this long, but on this day it was needed.

I guess we just have to hope he doesn't get too close to greatness/the sun and melt on us ;) Nice job so far
Not one of those short-lived shooting comets here -- I'm one of those long-lasting ones, the kind that orbits for yrs!
Thx for the feedback guys.. :)

Do you think the Powerfull might be toning you down a bit? Solid w/o just the same Snag!!

Do you think the Powerfull might be toning you down a bit? Solid w/o just the same Snag!!

Never had that issue before w/ PowerFULL. I've read some guys say they get a sleepy effect with it sometimes, but this has never been the case for me during the day. Now, the nighttime dose does help me relax & sleep; but in 14 months use, I've never had day issues..
What I'm feeling is almost adrenal fatigue-like, but without the extensiveness. It's weird. Maybe it's just a phase..

Speaking of phases, my diet phase is kinda weird right now too. Mixing some things up due to time restraints, availability of foods (or lack thereof rather, need to go shopping) and macro adjustments.
I realized I haven't posted a food pic in this thread yet, and tho there's no art to this creation I still thought I'd share this oddity.. :D

1 whole egg + 5 whites
1/2 cup brown rice
2 cups broccoli
1 scoop MonsterMilk

Are you taking DominATP with your jacked, because when I do, my crazy energy feels subdued and my focus is dialed in and makes for some good numbers. It's like the DominATP dominates and the Jacked is still there doing it's job behind the scenes it's an odd synergy but who am I to argue with results.

I've not tried this one yet. Looks like an intriguing
mix.. My issue is not really with energy -- it's not like I'm dragging tail or anything, I'm not hitting any walls thru the day or anything like that. But I am not getting that extra spike for training that I enjoy, or the focus/intensity that is important to me. Therein lies the irony: in the past, the only way I'm hitting the kinds of #'s I have been lately was by taking things up another notch & bringing the mental drive into play, hitting a second gear so to speak. Now, my strength is just [POW!] elevated without having to reach down and get into that next gear..

But, I very much enjoy the mental aspect/challenge of things! And I'm missing that..

On another (yet related) note: I can't walk today..the legs are smoked!
I failed to mention that yesterday's 5x5 on squats at that weight were a first for me. Legs have always been my weak point, but they are strong (to me) these days. Now I just need some recovery so I can walk back downstairs! :D

Hahahaa! Are you having the tremor-leg syndrome this morning while trying to sit on the toilet? :D That's always a great indication that I killed my leg workout.
I think you would benefit from the DomainATP, Snag. You should tell, or ask USP for some to run.

All this leg talk is making me cry! I decided that, since I had not had a debilitating injury in some time, I should tear my calf:

Invalid Link Removed

This was about two hours after it happened. Over the next week or so it turned odd hues of dark blue, purple and black!

Niiiice, K!
What is the plan of action for your recovery (time or treatment)? And how did you tear it (medial or lateral)?
I wish you a speedy recovery regardless.

At the moment, I have an appointment with an Orthopedic specialist next Monday, to assess the grade of the rupture. Initially, my GP felt it was a severe Grade II, and therefore may not need surgery; upon a follow-up, however, the amount of swelling, discolouration and bleeding has caused him to change his tune!

Upon first diagnosis, the doctor felt it was a medial gastrocnemius strain - the MRI will reveal the true nature and extent of my injury, though!

At the moment, there is no: squats, bench-press, beneficial shoulder exercises and/or anything which may put any strain on my calf in any way. However, we all know I was in the gym two days after, using Hammer Strength machines for everything!

Been there...done that Mullet!! Hpe the MRI is not as bad as it looks!!
