BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER: Snag's Recipe for a [NATURAL] Recomp, Competition Style!

I'm interested in how well you respond to Density. I take it that you have never used it before, or have you?

I used it last yr during my contest prep for a short time. It's a quality complex, no doubt; I'd like to run it for an extended period of time to get a good take on it tho, but it won't happen right now. I'm just using it as a 'bridge' with my other BCAA/EAA use to finish up here..

I may be picking your brain soon Snagalicious. Mullet has ventured into the land of the fatties, and I will need our combined powers on this recomposition project.

25 Prime/day?

I am probably going to implement a Fasted Training protocol w/ transient Ketogenic states the day prior to training and use 12 PRIME/day, AP, P-Slin, Jack3d, DTHC and, of course, BCAA. Really manipulate my lipid metabolism to get the adipose attenuation of 12 weeks into 4.

See.. you don't need my help man. Good game plan..

Land of the fatties?? You? Uh-oh..
Sure man, you know I'm here.

Land of the fatties for me at least. I am +10% as we speak, as evidence by the avatar. Luckily my metabolism is unfathomable, as the BF% I am now is the combined effort of 12 straight months of bulking. A mini-cut of 4 weeks will have me sub 10%. Blessing/curse.

I think 4 weeks running some FT and pushing the BCAA's (of course I'll endorse my timing protocol here) would set you right bro, esp. with that metabolism you got.
Let me know if you need any help with the specifics..
I'm honored you would look to me for dietary guidance.

Mini-cuts are sweet, but I prefer year-round recomp. Over the bulk/cut cycles.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. I was thrust into a bulk not this past summer, but the one prior, due to an accident. Lost about 30lbs of lean mass through the recovery period, and really had no other recourse. That is what the result of a semi is, haha:

Plan is to get down to that BF% [I hovered around there until now] without going through the arduous task of being smacked by a semi at 140km/h.

In all honesty I have never had to cut before, Snag; never particularly went through the experience. Even prior to the crash when I was hovering around 205 I was still relatively lean due to my metabolism. The necessity for this recomposition is the result of mid-terms + a court case due to a sick puppy + the sick puppy itself! Not much sleep and diet was beyond my control!

You can take AP while fasted from the night before? Then do your cardio or workout without eating anything. Won't you go hypo?

I will go back to refresh my memory...senior moment I guess

Ahh..thx for that trilogy of support there this morning Dragon, Lungz, And Dream!
Much appreciated. I'm just an impatient mofo, think I should be able to do anything I want to my physique within certain timeframes, and sometimes I shoot a little high..
It is a process for sure, I just need to be within that process a bit longer to get the results I am aiming for.
I'm just chomping at the bit to get some lean gain going on!! :bruce1:
Bottom line tho -- I'm pretty pleased with the progress I've made since the start of this log.

We are all guilty of that at times...BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER...FASTER, FASTER !!!!! Invalid Link Removed

Seriously, you should be pleased with your progress Snag :) plus, all the wisdom that you are sharing here makes others to progress too ;)

Ahh dude, you disappoint me.. this has been covered in detail much earlier in this thread..

Day #57 Shoulders/Arms/Abs

Last day utilizing heavy weights for this split; ran supersets thruout, 8-12 rep range until final sets of bi/tri ss, where I kicked it up to 20. 60sec rest periods. Hella pump, decently strong -- I was pushing 185 for 8 on the front half of my military (behind-neck)/DB lateral superset, maintained it all the way thru..

Breakfast today was 5oz turkey breast, 6 egg whites, 1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1 white grapefruit.

Postworkout nutrition: 4 rice cakes, 1 bottle Isopure.

Incorporated the Density (5 tabs) following training; as well, am doing this upon rising/bedtime (5 tabs per), and in between meals #4 & 5 (3 tabs at this serving).
Ultra-40's are bumped to 8/meal. Lean Out is taken 1/meal and (1) 30min prior to training; 7-Keto is taken 30min prior to trainnig and 30min prior to meal #5.

For this last week, I am upping the SuperCissus to 15/day, and I will be taking 9 PowerFULL daily (3 prior to training, 3 midday, 3 prior to bed). I will be coming off all supps following this run, with the exception of SuperCissus, which I will scale back to 2x2 dosing into my power phase..

ahahaa..another truth-ism..this thread has gotten outta control.

Lil sneak peek of the chest..
I just thought this looked pretty cool as I'm sitting here shaving the body a bit. Kinda tough to get a good flexed shot off when I'm also taking the pic, but I think you can see the dialing in coming on..

Appreciated as well man.. and re. the log -- DO IT! Let's see how da Bolt rolls! :D

I'll be running some FT cardio upon rising tomorrow, getting out of town early to drive down to Indianapolis for a couple USP demos. Looks like I'll be traveling thru a blizzard, 5" of snow they're calling for in a couple hr timespan -- coincidentally, the same time I'll be heading out. Snag Storm driving thru the storm, how fitting.. Be back on here Sunday as we head into the final week of things.

I am new and not familiar with all of the supplements mentioned in this post. If they are used for a recomp I would be very interested. Could you please give a quick summary of what each of those do and why the dosing is the way it is? Here or a PM. Thanks! Oh and your chest is looking SICK :D

Have a safe trip man!

Suncloud (or was it TG?) gave me some tips about reducing DOMS a while back, when I mentioned I did deadlifts followed by cleans. Sun just closed up his log, so didnt want to end it with my Q.

Today I'm in agony from DOMS b/c I pushed it too hard w/ deadlifts yesterday (8x8), after not doing them for 7 weeks b/c of my broken finger. Anybody got any good suggestions (not involving a bath w/ mineral salts)? I've taken 2 hot showers and tried to stretch my back, my I still can't bend over. Add to that the fact I've got the worst cold I've had in years, and today sucks :( I wish I had a foam roller right now...

I recommend a tall, cold glass of Man-Up. :p

How bout a nice tall glass of .... naw I won't say it ;) I just want to minimize the soreness so I can do legs tomorrow , I love my workouts :D

Can you take some tylenol pre-wo tomorrow to numb the pain a bit?...Stretching will help, too. With my old routine, my legs were ALWAYS sore so I had to just push through it. Once you get through the first few sets it's not bad.

I agree^^ Get a real good sweat going first and then stretch. Then get after those legs!! I usually do my ABs and Biceps/Forearms before the legs. By then I am fired up and ready for some heavy weights to happen.
