Log of Unparalleled Dimensions: Viking & Irish Take On Controlled Labs

Hey Irish, I may have asked this before, because I've been interested in Napalm forever, but I've also been painstakingly skeptical of topicals forever. Shadow swears by it and I've checked into Resolves log, but he's still in the early stages.

I think I need to be at least 8-10lbs lighter before i could really make use of Napalm, but what are your thoughts on it? Obviously you like it to some extent because you're using it, but as far as actual effectiveness, what would you say?

My meals don't usually compare to yours and Snags, but last night, for my final all protein meal, I had .90lbs of shrimp in spicy kimchi broth. Twas lovley. I bought the shrimp from the butcher (chilled on ice), not the frozen seafood aisle, so it was very tasty.

I honestly don't quite know what to say about Napalm. It most definitely has a strong effect on thermogenesis. I always sweat heavily in the area it's applied, but as far as fat-loss, I'm not quite sure. I think you have to be really quit lean for it to do anything. Back in the summer I applied it to my entire torso and chest, and noticed a decrease in fat where I normally lose it, but as far as my stubborn area, I didn't notice much. We'll see how it works now that I'm doing the FT with AP.

Here's a picture from this past June when I was using it. As you can see, I still didn't have much to show on my lower-abdominals, but I was lean everywhere else.

I can def see a dif in chest size from that pic to now...high fav

haha this is true...

Is it bad to mix 1-C with BCAAs?

...I've got a little gameplan...

I'd like to test out the going to bed at least 2hrs after a meal thing. My shake is usually 45mins-1hr before bed. So here's my plan...

I'll be having my shake/coconut oil WITH Meal 5 (I've switched the order of Meal 4 and Meal 5, so now my beef-meal is Meal 5), and then I wanted to take my 1-C with about 10g of BCAAs ~20mins before bed (2-2.5hrs after Meal 5). Does this sound okay to everyone?

Oh I missed that part.. yeah, I think that's way too much protein.
I like 60g tops at a serving, and usually try to keep it @50g on average.

The other aminos within the 'essential' grouping have various benefits as well; this is probably the optimal way to go. But for your purposes - which I assume to be fat-loss foremost, along with nighttime protein synthesis - BCAA's would suffice imo.

Like both Snag and I said, BCAAs will suffice man. I prefer EAAs because they contain the BCAAs necessary to trigger anabolism, but also other aminos to maintain protein synthesis.

BCAAs are primarily a trigger for protein synthesis and/or fuel directly metabolised by muscle. EAAs, on the other hand, both trigger and provide a greater variety of the actual molecules used in synthesizing protein.

Along a similar line, I just used PW and Glycergrow together intra-workout - that stuff is goooooood. GG, at least from this mornings session, blows bulk GMS away!

Irish, not trying to blow up your log, but I really thought you'd get a kick out of this e-mail I just got today:

This should hit every e-mail
to show how stupid we have become!

Think about it!

Ain't that the truth dude..

That last Mary situation pisses me off. It's true too, my roommate is an 8th grade Math teacher at a 98% Hispanic Jr High, where 65% of the kids are in ESL, meaning English is a second language (that's beside the point). Long story short a student of his was being rebellious and was about to walk off campus, my roommate was trying to stop him. Of course the verbal demands were not working and in fact, it just upset the kid to the point where the kid was trying to fight my roommate (THE TEACHER), basically, while this kid is pushing & punching, trying to get around my roommate, my roommate had to just do body blocks, with his arms behind his back and basically try and be a football defender because he was afraid that he could get accused of physically abusing a student if he used his arms in any way.

Here's a more pleasant story. At a rival highschool where my best friend attended at the time, there was a race riot, students started to go nuts and break and fight all over the campus. I guess there was this big @$$ black janitor working there at the time, some kid comes up and hits the janitor while he was trying to help contain the situation. The janitor gets clocked, then the janitor swings back and knocks the kid out cold. Now that's what I'm talk'n about.

So is everyone ready for tomorrow's immaculation ceremony? Hail, The Messiah, The Chosen One; Lord Barack Obama! Ambassador of the World! He can do no wrong!

Bush's 2004 inauguration ceremony cost 40 million and media attacks him for being arrogant and despicable; it's the celebration of the Red States win over the Blue States...Obama's ceremony is costing roughly three times that much, in the middle of a recession, and where is the media's complaint?

What a joke. Supposedly it's "necessary to raise the spirits of the American people."

Wow what a joke that is. I am just in shock by that. Way to help the debt out!

Prepare to be severely disappointed and frustrated at what does and doesn't get reported and what does and doesn't get criticized for the next 4-8 years. Perhaps he'll make a push to extend the presidency to 12 years, who knows, I think he has enough people willing to drink the kool-aid.

Mmmm..Obama kool-aid!

Sorry I haven't done my workout update for today, yet. It was a real good one. Once I have the energy to get up and grab my workout log-book, I'll post up the numbers.

Thats the problem with the liberal media. They do all sorts of things that never get reported and then when some does something(and they aren't liberal) it is all over the news. I just feel bad for the people that believe it all because its what the news said. I am really interested to see what kind of "Change" we are going to see in this country.

I was watching WGN News (Chicago station) earlier today, and they had a bunch of teenagers saying stupid stuff like, "Oh, this is great. Obama's really carrying on MLK's legacy. He's giving us the change we need...I really hope things just keep changing. That's really what we need is change." Bahahaha!

I don't know enough about MLK to say if he would or wouldn't have voted for Obama, but he WAS a Republican.

Change smells like:bsflag:. Thats all you have to say to win over undecided voters. Change Change Change!

Day 31

Bent Over BB Row: 150x24,22, 160x17,17,15,14,14,13

EZ Bar Curl: 60x24,20,18,18,17,15,14,15

So that was my workout. Weight and reps were both up, so I was pretty happy with it. I had a solid pump going, and felt real thick.

Damn!! Dem der some high reps!!

Ya, it's kinda fun. :D - The BA in WF helps to blunt the burn a little, so I can really push it hard.

I couldn't praise WF enough for bumping up my repetitions. If it weren't for the wanting to shave my skin off with a potato peeler from the paresthesia part, WF would be my favorite pre-workout.

Ya, I love WF. It's such a bummer you have the paresthesia issues. I would hate that.

Interesting you bring that up Sam; I recently ran Black Betas, 4 caps 3x daily, in addition to my other BA containing supps, and I had this same result. It was not pleasant at all. Couldn't put my finger on the cause till I recalled you talking about your paresthesia, and then a light bulb went on.. once I eliminated the Betas, this went away.
I owe you some thanks for that!

Did you listen to anything he said while painting that homeless shelter? When that guy doesn't have a teleprompter he sounds like the biggest idiot in the world. He can't sell BS very well, and it's unfortunate that so many people can't see that. At least Bush spoke genuinely...ya, he used words that didn't exist, but he was honest about his beliefs. I loved Bush's farewell speech and the last press conference. Can you believe that some Dems are trying to pin him with war-crimes? Give me a break! It obviously won't stick, but it's still pathetic.

Irish, are you going to change your workouts once you start that sweet ass Valentine's Day M-Drol/MMV2 Massacre Cycle? You can use that title, by the way!!
I figure you'd lower the reps considerably for that one.

Without a script or a teleprompter, he's (Obama) one of those orators that goes "umm.." between every 2 words. Like he's fishing for the next thought
......or lie!!

I was going to call it "I'll take what I want, It's my body!...Cycle"

I wasn't planning on lowering the reps at all. I'm making great progress with this routine. I've hot hypertrophy days for each body part, as well as low-rep O lifts that hit each body part...A little of both worlds! It's working beautifully.

Railing on Obama.. aha. Nice point on the cost of this inauguration gig. Once again, the power of the media to choose what they wish to focus on. Sickening..
There was a special on last night, kinda got a kick outta the title:
"WTF: W. Thanks & Farewell".
WTF - freakin' hilarious.. :wtf:

Well, it's here. I've reached the point of diminishing returns. My crazy training sessions are going to have to calm down a little. Updates after I eat.

Time to switch it up my brutha. Maybe some lower volume/lower reps high intensity shit that I love so much!! :aargh4::firedevil:
My new thread is up by the way. I'd love to have you and viking along for the ride!! It's in the cycle info section.

Where in all of Niflheim is viking, by the way??!!:think:

Viking, you get that sample?

Day 32

As I mentioned, I've reached the point of diminishing returns in my workout. Normally I would be disappointed, but it's not like this snuck up on me. This same workout lacked last week as well. It was only a matter of time. I DO believe my upper body is able to handle the beatings twice a week, but my lower body has been much more involved than anything else. Not only is it getting hit on two hypertrophy days, but it also has to deal with my Olympic days and my cardio. That's A LOT of torment. Honestly, I could probably drive through it if it was just leg soreness, but my lower back is what's really keeping me from training hard. It's been screaming lately, nearly every workout.

Day 2: Chest/Tris/O. Lower (Supersets, Fasted)

Incline BB Bench Press: 140x27,20,18,17,15,14,14,13
Bent Over Rope Ext.: 75x26, 80x19,15, 75x17,15,15,14,14

Upright Cable Flies: 15x18,16,17,16,16, 17.5x13,12
CG BB Bench Press: 100x17, 95x15,16,15,14,14,12,12

SLDL: 135x15, 225x10, 315x2 (bleh!)

Squats: 135x15, 225x10, 315x3 (bleh!) My back was yelling at me at this point.

After my second set of SLDL, I knew I was toast, but I wanted to get in one working set on each, so I sucked it up.

I don't quite know for sure what I'll be doing. I liked TG's idea of low-vol/low-rep/high-int...I may do this starting next week, just as a bridge until my cycle. Once I start the hormones, my recovery should skyrocket, so I may actually bring this entire routine back at that point. The thing is, everything is still making great gains except for my legs...They're simply being overtrained at this point. I could do an O. Lower day EOW or something until the cycle?...I don't know. Again, I have until next week to decide. I'll continue with my normal workouts up until that point. I'd still like to keep the FT going, so I'll have to find a way to work with that.

Any and all suggestions are welcome! I'd love to hear some thoughts you guys have. My cycle starts on Valentines Day, so I've got from Jan 26th until Feb 14th to utilize a new training program. I'm thinking Max-OT workouts for that time, and then back to high-rep/high-vol when I start the cycle.

Haven't you heard this oscar winning song?

Alright, fellas. I'm not around much anymore, cus I'm keeping damn busy around the clock. I'm still getting my training sessions in, that's not the problem, but with my past two week sleep schedule of 4AM-noon, and working 5 nights/week, I'm not finding the time to hang out on the forum. I also picked up a second job, working part-time @ GNC three days/week. I also began seeing this girl, a 26 year old hairdresser. We've been hanging out on days I don't work. So, tons of things to fill up my schedule with.

I have started writing the final reviews for each individual Controlled Labs supplement that was part of the stack, and I will post these later on this evening. I have ran out of White Flood and Blue Gene, got 1/4-1/5 tub of GlycerGrow left, and 1/4-1/5 tub of Green MAGnitude.

Beyond this log, I'll probably withdraw for a while, only to peek in and have a look every once in a while. I don't think I'll be logging again for a while, as I've got other priorities. I've had a blast logging the Controlled Labs stack, but realize that it's kept me at the computer for too long a time. It's time to swap out fun and games for school and work. School started today, but I don't start my classes till tomorrow. I've got 12 hours this semester, alongside of 15-20 hours @ the Lux (club) and 12-15 hours @ GNC. Oh, and the initial stages of a potentially new girl will obviously help fill the voids in my day.

I have to update you guys on an amazing meal I had last night, and will probably make again tonight...

6oz Chicken Breast - (Hawaiian marinade sauce)
1 cup scallops (cooked with the chicken)
Diced and sauteed portabella mushrooms, onions, tomato, green pepper
2 cups steamed broccoli

Yumskies!
