You ain't gonna be an astronaut just by looking at the stars

Thought it was really reflecting most people's situation about training. :)

Just read the full writeup at the molecularnutrition site.... This book i really want! I would consider it a late christmas or early bday present! :D

I think you should give it to the person who posts the most valuable information for others, that way it will be most useful for everyone here

Snowing here today. Sure would be a good time to read Anabolics 9th addition!

I have something running in my mind... Can someone use B12 to mix in hcg? Would be pretty usefull..

500 cals a day? i consume more than that when i sleep walk!
the diet plan is crazy too

1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes.

Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water (2 liters of water per day is recommended) are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times.

The fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal.

No medicines or cosmetics other than lipstick, eyebrow pencil and powder may he used without special permission.

Portions and specially prepared unsweetened, low calorie foods

"In many countries specially prepared unsweetened and low Calorie foods are freely available, and some of these can be tentatively used... the total daily intake must not exceed 500 Calories if the best possible results are to be obtained, that the daily ration should contain 200 grams of fat-free protein and a very small amount of starch." From Dr Simeon's "Pounds and Inches." The manuscript can be found here.

Important Highlights:

The 500 calorie limit must always be maintained.

2 small apples are not an acceptable exchange for “1 apple.”

Very occasionally we allow egg - boiled, poached or raw - to patients who develop an aversion to meat, but in this case they must add the white of three eggs to the one they eat whole.

Cottage cheese made from skimmed milk is available 100 grams may occasionally be used instead of the meat

i had pondered the hcg route for fatloss, but screw 500 cals a day
Would you please expand on this and explain?? I had a guy at the gym ask me about using HCG for fatloss and I have never heard of that and don't see how it works? Thanks.

the basic theory is that a pregnant mother will in times of famine spare muscle mass till the end, but loose fat. the hcg in theory puts you in that same state (its distilled from pregnant womens pee)

lol is that a joke? I've never heard of HCG helping in fat loss either.

Production
Like other gonadotropins, hCG can be extracted from urine or by genetic modification. Pregnyl, Follutein, Profasi, and Novarel use the former method, derived from the urine of pregnant women. Ovidrel, on the other hand, is a product of recombinant DNA.
....

The downside is that HCG is suppressive of natural testosterone. Because it mimics LH,
using HCG for too long a period of time or in doses that are excessively high, can desensitize the testicles to the effect of LH. Would this not stop natural test production? If you do that, you have bigger problems to worry about.

I never heard of this until you mentioned it. I started reading up on it last night and in theory it seems pretty interesting. It seems like it's suited for the very obese and not intended for fit, healthy individuals like the ones that are on this site. And the fact that everyone only gets 500 cals seems kind of strange since people can start off at different weights and bf %s. I'm sure hCG is covered in this book but probably not in this light, so I think I'll keep reading what I found on the web...

Thanks for bringing this up!

You don't need HCG and B12 to lean down on a 500 cal a day diet. Not only this is stupid, but you WILL lack many nutrients you need to function properly. You'll lose concentration, have a hard time smiling, etc... I've been on something similar when I was young and it ain't even fun.

it would, but takes really large doses for really long time to do so

That HCG stuff is interesting. I've never considered there would be more than one reason it helps retain gains.
