My original SMASH review: http://anabolicminds.com/forum/supplement-reviews-logs/79070-review-axis-labs.html

The Workout:

Lower Body (Mon. and Thurs.)
Squat 3x8
Deadlift 3x8
Squat 1x5
Deadlift 1x5
1-leg calf raise 3x10

These heavy compound lower body moves really wear out my CNS so I try to keep overall volume low when doing 4 workouts per day like I will be for this log. But I am considering throwing in some low-weight higher-rep stuff to facilitate strong pumps on some days. Depending on how well this Smash works I may be able to increase my work load… I hope so.

Upper Body (Tues. and Fri.)
Seated Military Press 2x8
Bench Press 3x8
Bent over row 3x8
Weighted dips 2x8
Pullup 2xfailure
Lateral raise 2x10
Kbell upright row 1x10
DB bicep curl 2x8
[superset]
Skull crusher 2x8

For me upper body is inherently less taxing than lower body and therefore can withstand more volume. I don’t want to spread my strength out over too many exercises and fail to make significant gains in the basic lifts. However, I may reduce the volume or drop some exercises here and there. Time will tell.

Well, I’ve de-trained a bit over the summer since I was focused primarily on endurance and body weight exercise. This definitely shows in the weights I’m lifting, especially in squat. No biggie though, it just means there’s lots of room for growth.

My first dose of Smash… well, it’s yellowish, mixes fairly well, smells like chemicals. The taste isn’t as good as the original Smash, but still fairly decent. I’ve had WAAAAAY worse supps, fruit punch SP250 for example. I gotta comment on the box too. It’s fahkin’ awesome! Very nice packaging. Now if only that alone could make me hyoooge. :D

Okay, down to the nitty gritty of things: increased focus and energy was noticed. It wasn’t too much of a jacked feeling either, which is good IMO. The BA tingle was present, so we know that’s dosed properly. I can’t say I noticed a definite increase in pumps… but it’s still only day one.

To be continued….

Ahhhhh shiiiit, I feel it now. Just took me a heaping scoop of Smash (with a little added tapioca starch)... it's kicking in. I got the tingle, and starting to feel zoned in. Gonna have to hit those weights soon. :frustrate REAL soon.

Damn, the original was amazingly good. I never did a head to head between it and Ragnarok Crushing Punch, but it would have been close.

I was really tired today for some reason and strength was unusually low. If not for the Smash, I doubt I would’ve gotten through my workout. Got a decent pump on, but nothing mind blowing yet.

Okay, well, Smash really shined today. I had to get up at 6:30 and have a workout at 7:30. I am not used to early workouts whatsoever, so this was a bit of a shock for me. Nonetheless, my strength and energy felt solid. It was a good workout. I expect more of the same tomorrow seeing as how from now on my workouts will take place in the morning. With this new job I got, if I didn’t workout in the morning, I’d have to wait until 7:00pm or so until I could… which I’m not gonna do. So, here’s to morning workouts and citrus flavored drinks that get you buzzed. I'm really looking forward to next week. I expect creatine and carnosine stores to be at noticeable levels by then.

Well, weights are going up steadily. That’s always a good sign. Sorry about being late on the update with this one, I actually had this workout on Saturday. Today is supposed to be legs for me but because of work I gotta push it to tomorrow. So, I’ll update again on Tuesday. As far as pumps and energy are concerned, they’re solid. Nothing too spectacular to report yet, just your standard sorta response from a preworkout cocktail of this nature.

Yes, give it a try for your next workout.
LMAO... and who are you?

I think I'll try 1.5 scoops before that. 400mg caff at one time is quite a bit.

I wish more companies would provide a stim-free version of their PWO supps (thanks MST and CL!), as I prefer to have total control over my caffeine intake and the source of my stims. I do not always require a stim preworkout, and in fact I've rarely used one til I found Phenadrine. With that said, caffeine is rarely my stim of choice, and I would be wary of shooting to become accustomed to 400+ mg of caffeine at one time.

Agreed. Once I'm done with this log I'm taking a long break from stims. Besides, adding additional stress to the CNS and possibly compromising sleep is never a good thing for recovery. It's generally not worth it, IMO. And I don't think anyone should get accustomed to using a stimulant preworkout for every workout. Sure, it's useful for when you're very tired or about to hit an especially hard workout, but certainly not on a regular basis.

a lot of the times I don't take any caffeine into my system all day until after I workout, haha. My heart already races from the workouts pretty good...no need to add anymore stress onto the heart. The heart is an important one, haha

This is why I used to use stim free ragnarok...and I now use Cre-02.

Muscle fullness from creatine loading and endurance from carnosine levels being obviously heightened is finally noticeable on a daily basis. Other than that, I think I'm thoroughly addicted to this stuff now. When I don't get that 200mg caffeine fix I just can't function.

Looks like a solid workout homie!
Thanks. You know, it's amazing how much your bench weight drops when you do something like military press beforehand. I only started noticing that when I began re-prioritizing my workouts and switching around exercise order. I used to always do bench press followed by rows followed by shoulder press. I guess that lesson is, it's good to change it up occasionally.

yeah I try to change things up about once every 4-6 weeks. I just did a routine for about 3.5 weeks and it's already changing haha. Partially because I have slightly altered my goals, partly because of my plans to train some buddies and clients, and partially because i'm bored

Wellsy... the weight is steadily going up. That is about all I have to say about it at this point in time. I think coming up I will be taking a critical look at the formulation though, so look out for that. Until then...

Weights have taken a serious increase. I don't know what it is, but these last two workouts I've felt GREAT! Although I'm not gaining a proportional amount of size so I'm thinking this strength increase is primarily from neuromodulation. But I'm definitely not complaining. My muscles feel full and solid all the time. Vascularity is good. I'm always warm despite the rain and cold weather.

Okay, I'm definitely more than halfway through my jug of Smash. This is because I have experimented with using it on off days as well as using 1.5-2x doses. I definitely prefer the 1.5x dose now. Doube dosing is just way too much caffeine for regular usage. A 1.5x dose is also just about perfect for use on those days when you just need a pick me up in the morning. Some days I'll use a single scoop first thing in the morning (in place of plain coffee) and then use another single dose preworkout roughly 5 hours later. Keeps me going throughout the day... though I know I'm just asking for a serious dependence problem.

As for the product so far... well, we've got the obvious and known effects of the base ingredients: creatine, beta-alanine, arginine, caffeine. Smash has lived up to exactly what I expected. That is, it has swole up my muscles as creatine is apt to due, increased my ability to perform work as BA is apt to do, jacked me up as caffeine/tyrosine is apt to do. On and on. As for having insane pumps, no, not really, nothing beyond what creatine typically gives me.

Sounds good. I don't get why people use the product on non-WO days though; it just leads to stim tolerance. I just take bulk creatine and BA on off days. If I need something to taste good, I'll enjoy some tea ;)

I'm trying my 1st dose of the new Smash this morning, I'll start with 1 scoop, but may up it to 1.5.
