Day 9: Monday, September 29 - Update #2



Between my finger, my allergies, congestion, a stomach ache, and just a shitty ass day overall, I was lethargic as hell and didn't even wanna be at the gym, but I channeled that anger and pushed to the best of my abilities regardless. I am gonna eat and go to sleep. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow.


That's it. I pushed and pushed, but that's all I had the energy for today. It wasn't a bad workout, the intensity was there, but it's just been a shitty ass day for me. I'm still having difficulty breathing through my nose, and I'm congested as hell. I really hope I don't get sick. It's that time of year though...

Anyways, it's food time. I'm not hungry at all. WTF? Bad sign. Gotta eat though. I'm gonna push through this. I refuse to get sick. Just opened my bottle of Noxidant. Hope this stuff helps... Time to break out the tea, throw back some food, and take a nice hot shower.

My stomach has been a mess since Sunday. I woke up with ZERO appetite, but forced myself to eat breakfast regardless. It was a struggle. Started feeling my appetite come back to me in the afternoon, but every time I ate, it's been :dump:. All day long. I was actually going to try and go in and do legs today, but I can't keep anything down and I had no energy. I've got some kind of stomach virus, and it sucks. Been feeling shitty all day (no pun intended). This sucks. :sick: But what can you do? I've been stuffing my face trying to put some weight back on, but everything just comes right out. I'm not gonna stop eating no matter how often I keep running to the bathroom. I'm down a pound and half since Friday. Going to bed early tonight. Damn, here I go again... :dump: I hate this ****... Tomorrow is a new day.

I think I know what is causing this... Bad chicken! :mad: Sunday is my grilling day, and I cooked a ton of chicken and I've been eating 3 breasts a day since. I woke up today and ran straight to the bathroom, then started feeling better shortly afterwards. Ate breakfast and went to work. Got to work and ate some granola bars and a protein bar and I was still fine. Had a chicken breast, spinach, and almonds, and my stomach is a mess again. It's gotta be the chicken. I thought it smelled/tasted a little off, but I figured maybe it was just overcooked or something? :think: This week I went to Wegmans for the first time and noticed chicken breasts were cheaper there, so I picked some up. When I got home and opened up the packaging, I noticed the breasts were a lot smaller than the ones I usually get, so that's why I figured maybe they were just overcooked.

I usually shop at Giant, and the chicken breasts are HUGE. A package of 5 breasts is usually 4.5-5.5lbs. The ones I bought at Wegmans looked big, but when I opened the packaging up it was actually stacked like 2-3 breasts high, and 5lbs. of chicken was actually like 10 breasts. Now I know why everyone always talks about my mutant chicken breasts. Maybe the ones I buy are pumped full of hormones? I don't know, but if they are, those are some tasty hormones! :food::food::food:

Dammit. Now I have to throw away like 10lbs of chicken and go buy some more to grill up. But I don't know how I'm gonna find time to do it today... Grrrr.... :frustrate

Moral of the story: Never buy chicken breasts from Wegmans again!

* I will note, however, that the steak I bought from Wegmans was freaking AMAZING.
 
Take it back to Wegmans. They'll give you your money back.
Problems:
1) The Wegmans I went to is near cougar's place, and that is like 45 minutes away, so ~1.5 hrs round trip (without DC-metro traffic). Time & gas prices...
2) I don't have time to do it during the week.
3) I am not planning on going back down to see cougar anymore, so it would have to be a concentrated effort on my part.
4) All the chicken has already been marinated and cooked.
5) I don't have the receipts or the packaging (obviously).

I'm just gonna chalk it up as a loss. It's just not even worth the hassle for me at this point for 20-some bucks.

Good points. Just be careful with the temperature of the chicken... Should always remain cold until you cook it... but I'm sure you already knew that.
 
Yeah, I had it refrigerated at her place, then went home, marinated it, stuck it in the fridge for a few hours, and tossed it on the grill. Oh well. What can you do.
 
Day 11: Wednesday, October 1

Weight: 181.6 (+.8)

Stomach was bothering me early. I woke up at ~3am and ran to the bathroom. Went back to sleep, and when my alarm went off I was right back in the bathroom again. :dump: ****in' hell. Took a shower, and when I looked in the mirror, I flipped. My jaw dropped to the floor. I looked absolutely ripped. I could see my lower abs. I'm supposed to be BULKING!!! This is NOT GOOD!!! :frustrate

I felt a little better by the time I sat down for breakfast, and as the early morning hours were progressing, I thought I was getting over it. My 2nd meal of the day is chicken and almonds, and not even 1 minute after I finished the stomach pains were back. Here we go again. :dump: But at least I figured out what the issue was!

Pigged out the rest of the day. LOTS of oatmeal & ON, lots of granola bars, and finished off the rest of my fruits and veggies for the week. LOL. LOTS AND LOTS OF FOOD!!! :food::food::food:

I threw out all my chicken (:() and went to a deli down the street from my office where I picked up some food to replace my last meal before leaving work. Couldn't have chicken so I picked up a grilled ham and cheese, a turkey pita with lettuce, tomato, spinach, avocado and sprouts, and a tuna sandwich. Yeah, that's how I roll. :food:

I hit up Giant after work and bought more fruits and veggies to replace what I had eaten and some more chicken and a couple steaks to throw on the grill after working out. Oh yeah. Speaking of working out...

Workout # 5 on stack - back & triceps!!

No pre-workout stims this time around. Stomach was still bothering me a bit, and I was afraid it would compound my problems. Plus I was pissed off about tossing a dozen or so chicken breasts and wasting my money. :mad: I was also pissed off that I sat in traffic for an hour and 40 minutes driving home cuz there was an accident. :frustrate Then I thought about stuff, and I was just pissed off that everything was pissing me off. :mad: :rant::smite: In all honesty, I think I kinda wanted to be pissed off. CHANNEL THAT ANGER!!! Tonight's workout was powered by pure RAGE!!! :aargh::aargh::aargh:

I maxed out the machine at 150 on my first working set, but found some plastic 5# weights that I threw on to get up to 165. Then I got creative. Found those straps you hang from a high bar and put your elbows into for leg raises and such, and removed the hooks from them. Then I connected them together, stuck one hook through a hole in one of the plastic weights and connected a a 10# weight through the other hook and let it hang. Worked like a charm! :head:

I have not seen 190 at any point in the day in quite some time. So it's been a very productive day for me! And my stomach still isn't even 100%! We'll see where I'm at tomorrow morning, but things are looking up!

Time. I've just been drinking lots of water and forcing food down even though I've known it would come right out. Don't know if that's the best way, but I'm getting better, and I think I should be good to go tomorrow. Best of luck to you, brother. It definitely blows. I wish you all the best!
 
Pick up some Acidophilus. With all you're eating it will most likely help the stomach issues. I'm assuming it's a degestion problem.

Ya no joke. I never heard of anyone being upset about seeing their abs before.

Bulking is to gain muscle, not fat! That's usually just a side-effect.
Call me crazy, but the way I look at bulking is if I am still ripped, there is a chance I am not putting on the maximum amount of muscle possible. I could possibly be eating more and my body might still be able to do something with it. I want to make MAXIMUM GAINS. That's just the way I see it. My metabolism is already stupidly ridiculous, so I'm not worried about cutting the fat later. I just don't wanna miss out on any possible gains. Nah'mean? :D
