Bama looked scary, but I feel better about Florida and Georgia now.

However, I'm glad the tigers get a by-week before going to the swamp.

It would be nice to see two undefeated teams meet on Nov. 8, but I'm expecting Bama to have a loss by then. The Bama-LSU game should be a dandy either way.

Man, rubbering you guys came out to play Sat. night. 'Bama looked pretty strong that first half. I'm rooting for you guys to run the table on the West. I'd like to see a rematch in the SEC championship. Like you said, I think it would be a closer game. Maybe UGA will show up in the first half next time. You can bet they won't be breaking out any black jerseys in a while. At least the Stafford to A.J. Green connection looked pretty strong in the second half.

Once again, congrats on your win, and also jumping to #2. Hopefully we'll be talking about another UGA/Bama game in the dome in Atlanta.

Yeah... I'd already mentioned the AP poll that come out yesterday.

REALLY??? Geez plenny... who's fault was that??! That's like saying, "Yeah, we would have beat them by a larger margin if they hadn't scored so many points and kept our offense from scoring more!!!" Isn't that kind of the point?!
yes it is..and penns "d" was on its heels for the first time this season..but by the 4th quarter they adjusted to the option. its a learning experience that will help them down the road.

I'm just messin' with ya, plenny. You know I can't help liking the Nittany Lions... even if it goes against every SEC-partisan cell in my being!

Btw plenny... does it seem strange to you that there is an almost eerie absence of a particular team's supporters in the forum since this past Saturday? I mean, the silence is almost deafening.

Let's see, Penn St. fan... check. Bama fan... check. LSU fan... check. South Florida fan... check. Georgia fan... check. Miami fan... check. FSU fan... check.

Hmmmmm... who are we missing?

I was at the olympia all weekend with RPN, so pardon my absence due to buisness aspects weighing of more significant importance.

Great for bama they played very well, but in reality, doesn't mean much at this point. Too many games left in the season. Florida blew it no doubt, but we'll see how it all pans out. Don't be over zealous with bama now.......we all know how that can come back to bite you in the azz. ;)

I seriously hope that florida and bama meet again in the SEC championship game. Remember now as i already pointed out, florida holds the edge there. :D

This is the same georgia team that beat south carolina by 7 points. I think some people are giving georgia more credit than is due at this point..... Don't get me wrong, they are good, but not what they're hyped up to be imo. I can't wait for the florida/georgia game.

Florida hasn't clicked at all yet, mark my words, when they do, look out...

It looks to be like a one loss team will be in the big game at this point. Time will tell.

Trauma1 LIVES!!! How was the Olympia, buddy?

You keep saying that. Well dude... they better do it SOON, or they're gonna find themselves with a 5-3 record in a few weeks. Not kidding.

As for me being overzealous, I think I've been pretty realistic from the start. I'm hoping for Bama to win it all, but I know 2 losses and a win against Auburn would be a great success with this many freshman on the squad this year.

However, I will say this: If Bama had played Florida on Saturday... they would have utterly destroyed the Gators. It would've been ugly. I held back before when you were saying the Gators would run the table (which made me chuckle at the time), and that they are so much better than everyone else in the SEC. Well, I watched both of their games very thoroughly on Sunday, and I feel extremely comfortable in saying the Tide is MUCH better than the Gators. Period. Yeah, I know... talent, blah blah, firing cylinders, blah blah... Bama is just a better team right now. The Gators' special teams and defense both collapsed, and the O-line is insulting. I point this out only because you were so insistent on "right now" being more important than past accomplishments and tradition. Well right now, Bama holds a huge edge on both levels. You can argue that, but it would be futile.

Does that mean Florida won't improve? Of course not. I expect them to be back in the top 10 very soon. Arkansas is just what the doctor ordered for them. And they're lucky the SEC East isn't as challenging as the West. Does that mean Bama's youth and developing ego won't catch up with them? Absolutely not. It's conceivable that they won't even win the SEC West, where LSU and AU have had their number lately. But... RIGHT NOW... the Gators look like t-total sh#t, and the Tide would have killed them on Saturday. Time to regroup, or both LSU and Georgia will embarrass them in the coming weeks.

It looks to be like a one loss team will be in the big game at this point. Time will tell.
Nah... it's still BYU vs. Northwestern for all the marbles.:D

Nah guys, I was just giving Trauma1 and gatoralum a hard time... but Trauma1 finally showed up... talking about some blackjack money he won to cover his bet against Ole Miss. (Really, I think he and I are buds!)

I'm still here lol. Not really much to say. I was half right Saturday. I thought Bama would beat up on UGA, but I certainly didn't expect us to lose to Ole Miss. When you put it on the ground 3 times and lose all 3, especially with these new clock rules, you can't expect to recover. This game might be a blessing in disguise as to channeling our focus and reevaluating a few things on offense, because we certainly weren't playing like the offense of '07. It's a good thing we play Arkansas this week too lol. Why does Vandy and Ole Miss always play us so tough???? I'll never know...

So true, ole miss especially seems to have our number. I think they really needed something like this as a reality check. We'll see how well it worked. LSU coming up shortly, woot, woot!

You're going up to the kentucky game right? I'll be there and hit you up when the time gets closer. :D

That's the SEC nowadays. Vandy and Ole Miss have quality players and coaches. Kentucky's no longer a joke either. It wouldn't shock me if they were to upset Bama this weekend. It's happened before. Miss. State will beat somebody this year, just wait and see. The only total farce in the SEC right now is Arkansas. They're just awful.

have miami at 3:30, don't know how many people will be watching. hopefully miami's speed doesn't **** us up too bad.

The speed in Miami is quality grade, so it might help actually help you out. On the other hand, the heroin will definitely slow you down.

i'm fsu. so i'm not sure how miami's speed will help us out. i'm worried about our qbs and their decision making, especially against a defense that fast.

remember, i graduated from fsu.....takes me a little bit. lol, i'm starting to feel better about our team, even though that was way too close

That was a crazy game! Congrats on the Noles' win. Bama was ugly today, but they pulled out a "W." Kentucky's got a lot of heart, and they hung in there. They're gonna give teams fits this season. The Tide made way too many mistakes, and I'm sure they'll drop a bit in the polls, but it really doesn't matter. Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri all play each other in the coming weeks, as do Bama and LSU. The proof will be in the pudding, as Cosby used to say.

How 'bout Vanderbilt?!!! :clap2:

Kentucky had a chance with 4 min. left to recover a bama fumble but it got out of bounce. that would have been a diffrence maker had they recovered it. with that said...penn state edges purdue. wasn't penn state's best offensive game but this was probably their best defensive game all year.

Bama's #2 in the AP poll. Funny thing though... couldn't find the talented Gators anywhere in the top 10 of either poll!:toofunny:

1. LSU (Still the champs until proven otherwise)
2. Alabama (Who has done more so far?)
3. Oklahoma (Look solid, but absolutely untested)
4. Missouri (Chase Daniel will win the Heisman)
5. Texas (See Oklahoma comments)
6. Penn State (Definite contender from a sad conference)
7. South Florida (Can't knock 'em)
8. Georgia (They drank the Kool-Aid, but were more themselves in the 2nd half of the funeral)
9. Auburn (They are ugly, but always seem to find a way to win)
10. Vanderbilt (Hey, they beat Ole Miss!)

Alabama is still #2, with a much-needed off week ahead. Even with as many mistakes as they made yesterday, I'll bet no one on this board expected them to be 6-0 at this point. Not bad for a team with only 9 seniors on scholarship. Missouri's moving up, and they absolutely annihilated Nebraska yesterday. If they do the same to Texas in a few weeks, I'll really be impressed.

Here's my new rankings:

1. LSU (A chance to solidify this ranking against Flori-duh)
2. Alabama (Certainly beatable, but no one else has wins over two top 10 teams)
3. Oklahoma (Can prove themselves against Texas)
4. Missouri (Offense is s-c-a-r-y. Defense is questionable)
5. Texas (See Oklahoma comments)
6T. Penn State (Very workman-like, with a chance to move up when all the above teams play each other)
6T. Vanderbilt (Gators wish they were Vandy, with wins over Ole Miss and Auburn)
8. Georgia (They'll be back)
9. USC (All talent, no heart, weak schedule)
10.??? (I won't even discuss BYU, Utah, or Boise St. Also, I'm not yet buying that Texas Tech or Oklahoma St. are for real either. We'll see.)

Discuss???

i see you took it easy on penn state's coments this time. thanks. also i like byu as #10.:clap2:

also i like byu as #10.

plenny, W-H-Y??? What's their big win? Beating an 0-5 Washington team by 1 point (and even that was controversial)? BYU hasn't played ONE team with a winning record! Not one. Their five opponents have a combined record of 8 wins and 18 losses! WHY should anyone be impressed? The Fightin' Mormons would get hammered by any other team in the top 15... or just about anyone from a major conference with a winning record.

I hate to say it, but I'd probably put Ohio State at #10. With Pryor and Wells, they look like a much better team than the one who played USC. If they'd had those two against the Trojans... they would have only lost by 17. :D

i know..i know..but they hold the longest winning streak in college football right now..15 games(i think) then again does it really matter who they play because the way it is today..anyone can beat anyone. they destroyed ucla and wyoming(shut them out) they play their rival Utah at some point...should be interesting.

Well, why not Ball State then? They've won 6 games and blanked Toledo. Why not Tulsa? They've won 11 out of the last 12, and average over 56 points a game. Blanking UCLA and Wyoming (who?) just don't impress me at all. Don't even get me started on Utah!

Wait... where the hell is Trauma1??? Is he avoiding this thread because the LSU game is coming up? Or because the Gators were in a 17-7 game in the 4th quarter with the SEC's worst team? :stick:

I'm here, just sick and watching the red sox game. I'm MUCH more a baseball fan than football in the end.

Bama looked vulnerable and sloppy this week (and no, kentucky is no shining star......especially without woodson this year), and florida packed it on in the end. Once again, MANY games yet to play.

I wonder what you'll say when/if florida beats LSU then?

I'll say something that you can't/won't: "Congrats on your win. Your team was the better team." :jaw:

(Hope you feel better, bud... although the Sox aren't helping you tonight. They should wrap it up next game.)

I honestly believe we can and will beat LSU. They were less than impressive in their wins over MSU and AU. They are very talented, however, they were more talented last year and we should have beaten them at their place. We are a better team overall than we were last year and we have them at home...It will be a war, but I say we win. You better believe I'll be there :head:

Thanks man. It's a viral syndrome that seems to be spreading like wildfire here in the t-bay area.

I'm man enough to admit defeat when/if it happens, i can assure you that. I very much can/will if that time arrives. As of now, there are games left for florida to prove itself in the end.

LSU is very good, but they were certainly better last year in all regard. Florida should have won that game last season if the defense could have held up, but they were young and weak in the secondary. I think it will be a close game this saturday, but florida finds a way to win with its speed in the end. I predict 31-28 gators.

Damn straight the sox better bury these angels tonight. I look forward to partying like a rock star if they clinch the ALCS tonight! :head:

GO GATORS, GO SOX!!!! :afro:

Well guys, I will absolutely GUARANTEE that Bama won't lose this weekend. I know, I know... it's a gutsy call.

I have a new Tee-shirt for the Florida/Georgia game! :D

lol I have an awesome Florida/Tennessee shirt that is about 10 years old. On the front it reads, as the old Gator chant goes:

"Rocky Top you'll always be, second in the S.E.C. Good ole Rocky Top, second in the S.E.C. ..."
