wife beaters seem alright. the bodybuilding tanks that are super open are pretty gay.

my trainer convinced me to shave up a bit and i got called out on it the other day by this fine chick. she asked me if i was gay since real men have hairy legs. the more i think about it, i'm not competing or even near looking like i could compete so why the fyck do i need to shave?

if women think the tanks are gay, that would impede getting laid

You're generalizing all women. I would bet each has their own opinion... shocker.

Regardless, the only women that see you working out are the ones at your gym.. and dating women from your gym can only lead to drama.

HAHAHHAAHA!!! Yeah! Because I really care what f*cking brand your sleeveless shirt is you closet c*ck sucker.

:FUfinger:

I never said you did. You tried to make fun of me with an insult spurred from your own ignorance and now you're trying to cover it up with more insults. I just wanted to make sure you knew that you were wrong and had no idea what you were talking about.

Just want to make it clear that you think your tank-top is stopping you from getting laid.

Flame on flamer.

A beater isn't a tank top. That's why it's called a beater and not a tank top. Furthermore this thread was started about the bodybuilding type tank tops, like the low cut Y tanks and spaghetti string tanks. I thought that was made apparent by the thread title.

This argument is over you anorexic cvnt nugget.

I wore a beater to the gym tonight and felt like a TOTAL DOUCHE, but it is nice to be able to see your muscles working.

How gay are the bodybuilding tanks? I have a feeling one would have to be a total monster to wear one and not be a tool. Thoughts?

0= not gay
10= super gay

Then please explain why you felt so insecure about wearing a BEATER...

I'm cool with being a "twig" or whatever you just dubbed me. We obviously have different goals and perceptions of ourselves. Fact of the matter is, you're still equating someone's gym attire with their sexuality... If you aren't comfortable wearing a beater at your gym - don't. If you think a supercool underarmor sleeveless tee makes you feel like more of a man... or makes you make men less? - that my friend... is just AWESOME.

Maybe I should have chosen a different word. I didn't mean 'gay' in the literal sense. Maybe that it what is confusing people.
I guess we in the midwest use certain words differently.

All good. As I said before - some people certainly wear tanks and beaters and act like clowns... But I really have no care of what people wear as long as they are comfortable. The only exceptions would be if it makes others uncomfortable... Like if their nuts slip out, of I can see assc*ack... It DOES happen.

At least we agree on the Red Sox.

No worries, if the bosox are the anus, the yanks are the taint.

I live in Manhattan, but just lay off the Lakers...

I'm guessing you're probably either a Baltimore fan - or a Twins fan (Maybe Colorado)... Only two teams I know that really hate Boston other than NY.

If you're a Twins fan, you're probably not old enough to remember the Lakers getting shipped off to LA in the middle of the night. (neither am I)

Twins fan. Not really a fan of NBA so couldn't care less about lakers. Still ****ing pissed about losing the northstars, though.

Its no more gay then shaving yourself, tanning, sticking a needle in your a$$, donkey calf raises Arnold style, 300 pound men covered in baby powder putting a super tight polyester shirt on one another, constant discussion about what PCT will make your boys hang lowest, standing on a giant stage in a pair of briefs posing in front of thousands of other men who are going to gossip if your bloated, etc.

Now if you said how gay is somewhere wearing the y tank standing on a Bosu ball to do cheat curls in a squat rack that would be a whole different story.

it seems like pmiller has put a lot of thought into the whole gayness thing. hmmmm

Sometimes I like to wear one of these to the gym:[ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=wyMBwEM4N1o"]YouTube - Jean Claude Van Damme Dances For You[/ame]

If your as hairy as two apes making love, then you need to shave ...

Van Damme is so gay.... this is a proven fact.

Holy Sh1t! Now that is GAY... QUEER, ODD, and just plain old WRONG! I had blocked out everything about that man except for "Blood Sport" now I have to go back to therapy. LOL

P.S. I am going to get a "Beater" that says "I like it up the arse!" Would that be gay to wear in the gym? LOL

We all have our views on why we lift and what makes us tick. As long as you are there to lift intensely and someone else being a douche isn't getting in my way... I do not give it any attention. Peoples attire does not bother me, seeing pathetic form, or spotters lifting a large fraction of the lifter's weights, people doing half and 1/4 reps like they are doing something, those things drive me nuts.
The story of the 3 boys at the gym talking trash is just that, 3 boys being boys. That is what being a teenager-young adult male is all about. All positioning to be or feel like the alpha male. Life happening to them will change priorities and veiws over time. For now they are where they are and will grow to be real men some day... hopefully anyway.

It just really gets me because of my age vs. there's. It's about the same. I know 100% that I have conducted myself the same way in the gym since I was 17. Thats why it gets to me because there is no excuse for it. I never understood the whole "teenagers will be teenagers".

May also be why I'm so much more successful than most of my peers from High School :nutkick:

My gym seems to have solved this issue by not allowing tank tops, period. They frown on sleeveless shirts, but will allow them if you're an established member.

Wear a tshirt to the gym and take it off to pose at home.

I hate the direction that gyms are going in these days. Most of them won't let you do a fvcking deadlift, now they try to outlaw reasonable fitness attire. What next, no sweating??:frustrate

Very true, I don't think I ever acted that way but I have gotten accustomed to seeing it since I was young. I was definitely not condoning it. Sounds like you were ahead of the curve as a teenager too.

i dont think they are near as gay as these fat guys wearing under armor tighter than a tourniquet

Wow. Thats absurd. I dont care what people wear to the gym as long as they are not being offensive jackasses. If someone is minding their own business why does it matter if they are wearing a damn tank top? Does it make the fat people and "wittle guys" feel insecure? Most likely. Maybe if they were more concerned with working out rather than complaining about other peoples gym attire they would achieve the results they seek. Maybe instead of cracking down on tank tops, there should be a rule not allowing the old dudes to wear their short little wind shorts. A ballsack hanging out of some old guys shorts is much more offensive than someone wearing a tank top, imo.

Or perhaps limit the fat chicks in sports bras? Do they limit the females to T Shirts only? Sexual discrimination?

There's a law in France that makes it illegal for women with BMIs higher than a certain level to wear bikini's in the public. It's not even allowed on the beaches.

They have the same thing in Australia. Basically lycra is a privalige. not a right. Females or males can recieve on the spot fines if found breaking the law.

End of the day, I don't pay anyone notice in the gym, and don't give a sh1t what they think. Lifting is my own private space.
x2 i could careless what other people wear. for me its just what i have clean at the time. usually a tanktop wife beater style except alittle more professional looking (i dont know how to describe it). I just wear whats most comfortable for me to and to see my muscles working when i want to. F*K what everyone else thinks. lifting is for your personal self not others so why bother with worrying.

Me....
I have one, this one. NPC camo. I got it as encouragement. I wear it around my house...never to the gym. I might sometime though once i get a big enough chest to make it look good.

I wore a tank top ONCE to the gym...i think it was day before 4th of jully and there was all of 2 people in the free weight area so i dint look like a douche.

I usually wear XL/XXL shirts...i have a Chicago Sox, Monster Energy, ZERO(skateboards), White Ts, Element(skateboard comapny)

EDIT: I know the pose sucks...deal with it. haha
