I have awesome workouts for training my wrestlers. The problem is that if you push a kid to hard these days they just up and quit. There are few kids that possess the heart to battle through hard work. Its really sad how much things have changed since I was in high school (10 years ago).
I know what you mean, I teach in Japan and my Judo kids have strong wills but my english course students... I dont even think they come to school to learn ... And these kids WANT to go to college... they think just by being in class they are done..

Right!? I passed out once last week sparring and I got up and they asked if I wanted to rest. I told them I just did and I'll have lots of time to rest when I die. Now it's time to roll!

This is why I like the workouts that I'm currently doing (hyperfitness) its you vs. you. The only thing holding you back is yourself. You don't work to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Yes people watch and stare and make comments and that inspires motivation and drive, but in the end still still you that stares back in the mirror and asks...did you really give your all?

I agree man. Times are different, and it all starts with lazy fat ass parents that don't make their kids go outside and play anymore, and instead feed them McDonald's while they play video games. The result is the panzies that come forward that don't want to work for anything. Some end up on this forum wanting to know what steroid they need to take to get huge or what pill to take to get ripped without eating right or putting the right work in at the gym. Because you know....that would take work!! Our youth today seem to collectively as a whole want results with little to no effort.

I've always found it funny that since I've made some nice progress over the last few months, those that don't exercise or eat right ask me what I took to get where I am. The guys that sweat in the gym with me every day ask me what I eat to get where I'm at ;)

This is true, i'm that guy you see in the gym that everyone thinks is crazy or on a bunch of sh*t because i will lift that damn weight till it hurts so bad i want to cry or my arm is gonna get ripped off. For me, that 1 rep is what i NEED to do, i HAVE to get it i don't care if i cheat or do whatever. I see kids in my gym that are there for 30 minutes talking with friends and on their phones wondering why they don't get results. They are afraid to eat over 3000 calories or they don't want to be in the gym for more than an hour but they come in and just do the same thing over and over. Lots of guys in my gym say "oh i can't get any bigger no matter how much i eat" This is where my "dirty" eating habits rule supreme, I tell them over and over that they should go eat some olive oil or just get a ton of hamburgers. Nobody seems to want to DEDICATE to something like that to get what they want... If they can't eat more food, eat more CALORIE DENSE food! Sheesh!

Week 2 Review, workout and pics

Okay on to week 2 which actually ends tomorrow but we are deep enough into this week that can give my second week impressions.

This week has been a good week physically.

Alpha Male - I am definitely still rocking the Alpha Male feeling and Supreme confidence I spoke of last week.

Aggression - I definitely have some aggression most of it is positive aggression aimed at the weights or motivating me to do things. Some negative aggression and snaps coming but as a side of a different area I will focus on shortly.

Recovery - Recovery has definitely improved this last week. Not getting sore as I did before. To be fair my body is also getting better at clearing the lactic acid produced by short rest periods and drop sets. So there could be two factors at play here but a definite improvement over last week.

Libido - My libido is staying right at the same heightened level it was last week which is a good thing.

Strength - I am definitely seeing some strength increase now. You will see comments on differences when reviewing my workout comments below.

Skin - I am still getting oilier than normal, having pop up pimples on my forehead even though washing my face more often. I seem to always have 1 or 2 pimples on either my shoulder or back. For me this is increased because typically I have a pretty good complexion.

Sides - Well I mentioned that one of my nipples had been itching and a small bit of swelling. I have been taking formadrol at 2 caps a day since last week and it has gone away. I think to be safe I will run it into the 3rd week then taper down to one in the fourth week.

Appetite - WOW! I have to say that my appetite has shot through the roof this week. I am starving and my body is processing food like nobodies business. I didn't even mention appetite the first week because honestly it was not a factor but this week it has been a MAJOR factor. I also notice I can go a little hypo after having my fast breaking meal. The body is clearing blood sugar like nobodies business. Could be from extra IGF in the muscle due to increased levels of GH as well as higher free testosterone levels. Either way it also makes me a bit aggressive when blood sugar gets low and not already fasting. During the fast it is not an issue at all but when hormones are shifted to anabolism and relying on glycogen I feel that hypo for sure.

Size - I feel fuller, not trying to gain any size right now but just get in better shape.

Stats - 195 - I woke up and weighed in yesterday at 195 lbs basically the same as last week, I have improved strength and looked a tiny bit leaner first thing in the morning than I did in my initial pics.

Unfortunately these were an after thought taken after 2 meals into the day so not looking as lean as I was first thing in the AM but still positive pictures nonetheless. To me I look a little leaner but not by much. I will make sure to take my last set of pics first thing in the morning when I look my best.

On to the workout!

Push Press - 105x8, 145x8, 166x8 > 145x6 > 95x3 - Increase of 1 lb on final work set and got an extra rep on the first drop at 145 nice improvement there. As you can see I made my incremental weights. Nine links of 1/4 inch chain connected by a key chain ring comes out to 8 oz exactly. So I had one on each side. I will make a way to add another 8 oz to this also for next week. May just buy some fishing sinkers and attach to this or something.

Pull Overs - 60 with bar - No good I got my warm up in but with the muscles in my back reconditioning this just felt bad. I moved to a different move here.
Straight Arm Pulldowns - 75x15, 90x15 > 75x5 > 50x8 had awesome contractions here and a greater ROM with the lats. I will stick with these for a while.

DB Incline Press - 70x12, 85x12 > 65x5 > 45x5 - 5 lb increase on both first and second set. NICE INCREASE Felt great was just the right amount of weight. I will add the chains next time for a 1/2 lb increase per DB.

DB Curl - 45x8 > 32.5x6 - Got an extra rep on first set with 45 and on second set but the 35 was not available and went 2.5 lbs lower there so I can't count it as an increase in the drop. Also you may notice I am only doing 1 drop on arms now to help with elbows trying to act up and it seems to have done the trick so far.

Dead Lifts Regular Bar - 225x8, 315x8, 365x8, 375x6 - Definite increase here especially in workout pace being faster. Last time 325x8 with thicker bar was the max. Now I know thick bar makes it harder on grip but my back and legs felt stronger here. Of course I am reintroducing the dead lift to my workout so CNS retraining could be a factor as well but nonetheless a nice lift. I am picking it up and putting it down slowly, the octagonal shape of the weights here requires this or they can rock back into me and smash my shins when putting the weight back down. Makes for a harder lift.

Leg Ext. 235x12 > 175x6 > 115x5 - Up 5 lbs on work set and all drop sets same reps for 1st drop set and one less on last drop set. Once again nice improvements.

SUMMARY OF WORKOUT


Across the board I seem to have made progress here. Completed workout faster, with heavier weights and felt great doing it. The only issue was the pull overs which really pulled on one of the muscles back there that are not full conditioned yet and got pissed at being stretched under weight. I will work on that with some lighter weight and some stretching but going forward I will use the straight arm lat pull down for the WORK. I think I can safely say that I am getting in better shape, whether or not much is noticeable in the pics my conditioning is better. With the extra food I have taken in I am impressed that I have not had any negative effects on my composition but instead look like I may have made some progress.

Yeah and these were LG style meals meaning I was already about 2200 calories in for the day in those 2 meals. I am pleased with how I am looking for sure.

Great workout and you are looking massive in those pics. Nice and lean but muscular as hell. You give the younger guys a run for there money.

Your deadlift numbers are great! Those are some solid lifts and the DL is a workout all BB and powerlifters have reverence for.

I have a lot of strength gains and conditioning still to come and don't plan on giving up any time soon so hopefully as I keep on pushing the envelope I will keep seeing some recomp accompanied with performance improvements.

Nice get those sessions in so you don't go getting an injury trying to deadlift a hummer ;)

Going to go to the gym here in a bit and do some cardio. Not sure if I will swim, walk, do the elliptical or ride a bike today. Kind of feeling like a kick back on a recumbent bike and read day.

Day 14 - Cardio and replies.

Cardio today was interval hill walks on the treadmill 45 minutes 514 calories and a lot of sweat. I was also trying to retrain myself to walk with a more toes forward stride since the ART specialist told me that the outward turn of my feet was due to hip tightness and was exacerbating the issues with my hip.

Abs and obliques on the crunch machine.

I am about to go do some foam rolling on the external portion of my hip and quads as well as down the front of my thigh to loosen everything back up.

Are you at the point where you're just gonna maintain or do you want to drop your bodyfat even further?
I imagine I will lose another lb or 2 of fat with the workouts and trying to increase performance / conditioning but I am pretty happy with current size and composition. My ideal is probably about 2 lbs less body fat. It will come off as I go along, but will not be the main goal of diet or anything. I think I am more hoping for a slow recomp staying around 195 and adding a lb or two of muscle while dropping the same on fat. Main goal is to get the fat off my lower chest once it is gone and I can't see it any more when I do a most muscular or something I will be happy. If I decide to I may do a physique contest next year if so then I will get to about 5.5% but for now I am really just trying to improve my overall conditioning. As soon as the hip is squared away running and sprints will be added into the equation.

Running sucks... Well at least that's what my new Nike t shirt says :D BUT if you get hip squared away bro, then it's tough but good. I have a big of a love hate relationship with it at the moment, but every week it gets better!

The fat on my chest is the last to go too. I've always been like that. Thought I had gyno for years. Ha ha. Boy was I wrong. Just one of those guys, but I will say having that be the last place for fat to shed has always kept me on the leaner side. I'm heavier now than I have been in a while, but my frame is larger than its ever been. I know ill hit that point where ill be begging the weight to stay on, I'm just not there yet. I have been but injury, life, and laziness got the best of me for some months.

Chris... Workouts are looking fantastic, pictures are looking incredible as well, can you do a specific pose for me? It is my favorite pose that I like to do when I'm ripped like that and I think it will be a good one for you as well, do the side oblique and Ab pose...

No worries Brotha, and I appreciate the apology via PM, but to be honest with you, it was a friend of mine coming out with a new fat-loss product local here in Atlanta, he asked me to do it for him and paid me quite well to do it, I did take it and like it, but the pictures used were not using that product...sooo I pretty much did exactly what they talked about on "Bigger-Faster-Stronger" it was kind of Douche-Baggery of me, what can I say, we all have our moments of weakness! "Little-Boy-Blue... He needed the Money... Ohhhhh!!!"

I honestly posted that to poke fun at myself for being involved in something like that, oh well, we live and we learn!

No worries Brotha, and I appreciate the apology via PM, but to be honest with you, it was a friend of mine coming out with a new fat-loss product local here in Atlanta, he asked me to do it for him and paid me quite well to do it, I did take it and like it, but the pictures used were not using that product...sooo I pretty much did exactly what they talked about on "Bigger-Faster-Stronger" it was kind of Douche-Baggery of me, what can I say, we all have our moments of weakness! Those were my FINAL results of Last Year, that was the day before Halloween (2010) right after a workout in the gym, so I was nice and pumped and clean shaven, with a decent tan, well for me a decent tan, LoL! I was 203Lbs body weight, 194 Lean Body Mass, & 5.3% Body Fat! I think Chris will make that pose look better than I did being that he is shorter than me with almost the identical mass, weight & body fat that I was in that picture!

Interval Cardio Day and replies.

Okay today was a good day at the gym. It was my jump rope and swim day, I extended the time I spent actually jumping a bit. I have maintained a 10 minute time for jump rope including the rest periods but today I jumped longer periods with in that 10 minutes. I was doing sets of 60 jumps and then resting 30-60 seconds. Today I switched it up and jumped for 1 minute and rested 30 seconds throughout the 10 minutes. This was definitely an improvement and was more taxing.

Jump Rope 10 minutes
Swimming Freestyle Stroke up and jog, side step, or walk back in water. Last week 20 total laps, this week 28 total laps in 40 minutes. I am becoming a swimmer damn it! :D I still have a rough time when i go to breath my body immediately wants to sink but learning to kick a little different and time my breathing better so my stroke pulls my head out of the water as I breathe.

Jo and I didn't make it to the gym yesterday, I forgot to turn on the alarm when we went to bed. Woke up at 4:40 frustrated that we missed the gym but at least I had time to set the late alarm to get her up for work. We were going to lift last night but a project I was working on took precedence over it. Tomorrow I will combine the compound movements from this with the one for tomorrow so instead of cable crossovers tomorrow I will do flat bench, and will do bb rows instead of pull ups since the swimming hit the pulling down motion pretty hard today. Stuff like that.

All in all today was a huge performance increase from last week. I pushed it and my shoulders are blasted from the swimming. Had a full body pump after the workout.


Running sucks... Well at least that's what my new Nike t shirt says :D BUT if you get hip squared away bro, then it's tough but good. I have a big of a love hate relationship with it at the moment, but every week it gets better!
I am a midfoot striker naturally so trying to find a pair of shoes for that in my price range that still have some arch support... Apparently since the midstrike thing is pretty new all the darn shoes are priced ridiculously. Newtons are 150-175 SHEESH! I have kids. Vibrams have no support at all in the arch, just rough.

Just getting back into the country and what a difference a week makes. Your BF% is an inspiration! I'll be starting a couple of logs during this PCT/leaning phase and I will definitely add you to the list of those that inspire me. (NO HOMO) Keep doing what you do!

The fat on my chest is the last to go too. I've always been like that. Thought I had gyno for years. Ha ha. Boy was I wrong. Just one of those guys, but I will say having that be the last place for fat to shed has always kept me on the leaner side. I could... but not too soon after you put that one up. LOL I don't feel like embarrassing myself right now. I am not anywhere as lean as you in those pics, at least not in my eyes. Could just be some of the loose skin not tightened up yet but I think I have another 1-2% to drop to get to that point. I will do that one for you in my next progress pics at the end of the log in two weeks. For now, what if I do it like you did and post up an old pic of me when really lean.

Well if you look at the pics that USP used of me as if they were my 12 week before pics in the Asteroid Stack manual then look at my BB.com profile you see that the original pics are from 2006 and the follow up pic is from 2009 during my contest prep. I sent them some old pics to see what I had done with myself with tons of other pics when I asked them to sponsor me originally. Part of the deal was and me them the rights to use my pics, and basically they could use them to use as they wanted and that was how they wanted to use it... I did get great results from the Asteroid Stack but not those results...

No I really don't think I am that close to that body fat. I mean I am not that far away but not that close either. One to two percent makes a HUGE difference in how you look.

I was gonna say the same thing. I know he intended for us to notice his abs, serratus and obliques........but dang, that back looks lean and detailed in the mirror!!!:smileeek:
