Zinc comparison

I have hard times with decision of which form of zinc is the best buy. Here is the list of forms for which I'd like to ask you to compare:

- zinc picolinate
- zinc gluconate
- Zinc amino acid chelate with copper
- L-OptiZinc Monomethionine

Knowing absorption ratios would be great. Thanks!

i believe that the zinc amino acid chelate with copper could hinder the absorption of both the zinc and the copper since they both compete with each other...someone else correct me if i'm wrong. The reason why copper is recommended along with zinc is because too much zinc can cause a depletion of copper in the body. Zinc is actually used to treat copper overdose. I personally would take my zinc and copper at seperate times but thats just me.

Ive tried them all and noticed no difference. I stick with zinc gluconate because its proven to absorb and its dirt cheap. And yes, supplement with copper, if you chose to do so, separately just to be sure. I just use chlorophyll or greens powder.

Why the zinc and copper separately? The reason zinc can cause copper depletion is not dependent on gut uptake via the same transporters
