I keep seeing 1/2 cups of oats references for breakfast...Is brown rice, barlet oats, quinoa, wheat berriesor or anything like interchangable???help!
IMO..nothing beats the convience of protein, oats, and a blender for my pre-breakfast shake. its also my main source of fiber.

For cutting, carbs are best left to breakfast, during your workout, post-workout and post-post-workout (i.e. the actual meal you have about 1.5hrs after lifting).
Steel cut oats are just roughly chopped groats, more palatable IMO. If you don't overcook them, they're the best thing, but to find them I would imagine a bulk health foods store might have them. That's where I've seen them personally.where do you guys go to buy groats... i guess I could check whole market. All I can find is steel cut oats, which I currently use.
of course. calm down. you can have whatever carb source you like. just make sure it's not processed all to hell. i personally like grits (hominy cereal). i eat me a bowl of that with 1tbsp of p.b. in the mornings now.
