What is your favorite cheat meal?

Do you cook just for yourself or for family as well? #3 on my list of excuses as to why I don't add more variety to my diet is that things go bad on me since I live alone (1&2 are poverty and lack of time).

Yup
i bulk cook chicken/turkey for 2-3 days
Potatoes for 3-4 days
rice for 2-3 days

I work 60 hours a week, never a lack of time to cook some delicious protein goods and other good meals.

That's all I use haha. I couldn't live without it. Oats, beans, chicken you name it, it goes in the crockpot.
The wife and I have been discussing getting a crockpot for a while now. We just keep forgetting to pick one up. Any suggestion on a fairly priced good quality crockpot?

Man, you don't know what you're missing. Crockpots are a savior bro. But get at least a 5 quart one or higher. Hamilton Beach is a very good brand as well as the "Crock Pot" brand. You can get both of these at Walmart or Target. Enjoy!

Costco here has carried the same one forever, its a good size and has treated me very well.

Literally can wake up, throw a frozen roast or chicken in it with some spices/sauces and have a good dinner waiting when you are home

As a father who's wife works 2nd shift. I can say crockpots have saved me from serving PB&Js for dinner multiple times a week. Just have to throw stuff in the pot before you leave in the morning, and you're done!

Yep! Exactly! It's just too, too easy. Really a no brainer if you ask me. I don't use it as much in the summer as I do in the fall/winter of course.

I got a good quality one at Kohl's for ~$20. I think it is Hamilton Beach. It has a low, high, and keep warm feature. You can always get a programmable one, they are around $40. You can program how long for it to run and then it will shut off. Good if you will be out of the house for a long time.

That's where we grabbed ours. Sounds like we have the same one, actually.

Best stack to run with a crockpot is a timer. Set it for 4AM, get up at 8AM and you have hot oatmeal waiting for you. Throw beans in at 10AM set for 4PM, go to work, work out, come back and have hot food waiting for you. Just gotta be careful with chicken and stuff, don't want that sitting at 40C for too long...

Crockpot works best for bulk chicken (Hot sauce/soy sauce to flavor) Same with tilapia (if you like fish)
Also pork ---> Big Pork loin + Diet Soda and let it cook. Comes off the bone literally.

You can make chicken alfredo and tons of recipes in there.. so many you can google.
Great investment.

Massive cheat day Saturday Invalid Link Removed

So after many, many days at around 1,800 calories average per day I decided to do a huge cheat day since my weight was down to low 150's. After a 500 calorie shake for breakfast and a 500 calorie hamburger for lunch...for my late dessert at 9 PM I ate an entire half gallon of Turkey Hill chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream with an entire box of Keebler peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for a grand total of almost 5,000 calories for the day. It felt soooo good. Invalid Link Removed

Today I weighed 155 and it's back to normal calories for a few weeks.

Why not have a small cheat meal once a week?

I do have one day every 7 to 12 days where I go up to 3,000 but that's all "clean" calories. I haven't eaten ice cream in many months, or any crap with chemicals that are hard to pronounce. I'm also into month #5 with no alcohol which is longer than I've ever gone, mainly because I'm trying to control gout at my toe...sucks.

I prefer to follow a short window IF (only 10 to 12 hours) so it's actually hard to cram in more than 2,500 "clean" calories. A good thing.

Agree, going from 1800 to 5000+ seems more than a cheat meal, especially when you almost tripling your intake and calculating it at the same time.
a Free meal/Cheat Meal should just be one meal, eat it and move on. dont count it, enjoy an entree or dessert to your liking and get right back on the swing of things.

While the free meals can aid stress, t3, leptin, hormone levels and aid fatloss, sometimes doing too much or eating too much could backtrack a whole week of progress due to the caloric intake/load from the amount you take in (especially if it is that massive and way over your kcals) to a point where its counterproductive

There is a fine line between moderation and overreaching as far as a cheat goes. But almost eating a quart of ice cream and a whole box of cookies seems a bit excessive when it comes to a a cheat

Maybe a pint of ice cream i can see as a good idea for a cheat, but throwing in a box of cookies and getting nearly 4,000 kcals from pure sugar and saturated fat.. eh..

^^ I agree with you. What I did was over the top but I'm where I want to be re BF % so I said WTF I'm going to catch a good sugar high. I actually felt better today that I expected having subjected my system to that crap. I have great self control normally.

Wow, Bob. Huge fan of BBQ chicken pizza here, but I've never had breaded chicken on a pizza. Buffalo chicken pizza either, for that matter. That looked amazing!

That said, I don't have any food porn worthy pics, but BBQ Chicken Pizza and Donuts would be my fav cheat.

And unlike a wife, the crock pot won't be ****ing random dudes when your away.

Anyone try the new quest protein chips yet? Video reviews all seem positive so far.

I love most of those youtubers, but I think they are over hyping how great they are. Not to say they aren't good, but I think it has more to do with continuing to get free product. I think Chris Jones, Physiques of Greatness, has the most unbiased review.

One of the quest reps Bnizzle off another board said the BBQ were disappointing.
Reviews have been up and down. 120 kcals for chips is a dream come true tho.
