What gym you lift at??

I was at planet fitness but that damn lunk alarm and old people talking an holding up the smith pissed me off so now I'm at anytime fitness in Melbourne Florida it's gr8 staff real nice

I can not wait to move. My fiance and I are gonna be looking for a place with a large work shop or extra large garage (or enough property to put up a steel building) to create a personal training studio. She is fully supportive and on board.... And she has a great job to help the early lean times. I have some big plans for what I am gonna do, what customer base I will be after, etc... This is just probably a year or so away (being optimistic). My plan is a specific client base that will pay a premium to get results.... And the business I should be able to get from referrals should be huge and should drive the business after the first year or so.

But I will have the equipment I WANT and that I know works without the crap.

No squat rack? How do you do barbell curls!!!!

There's no
Curling on the squat rack! We eat the people who do that at my gym!

But how I'm I going to rep to failure? I need the security so I don't worry about dropping the dumbbells.

then do your self a favor and sit on a bosu ball while curling, it puts you much closer to the ground so that when you drop the weights it wont be such a big deal and better yet when you fall off the ball and hurl the weights into the mirror I can laugh even harder.

Gold's Gym. Definitely a "gym gym" and not glamour like my old gym The Rush. Im happy with the basics though.

Hope it stays that way! The Gold's over here is turning into a salon-type fitness facility from what used to be a rather solid old school facility with lots of stuff for the rest of the crowd. But not hair off my back, I don't even go there.

Yea i was actually pretty happy when i walked in there for the first time. I was like "now this is a gym". Old school weights and equipment, some Hammer Strength stuff but no frills in this place. The Rush Fitness Complex was huge with rediculous colors and noise and people. Great equipment though.

la fitness...it blows

Edge Fitness... Not as good as far as equipment as my old gym. But that place was dirty. Talked to a guy who used to go there and it had a number of staph infections.

select fitness until my home gym is complete

Fitness center on the bottom floor of a local hotel. Now I know what you are thinking.....a bunch of pink dumbells, two treadmills and an eliptical, like at most hotels. Nope. It has 2 free weight rooms fully equipped. Nautilis room, about 18 treadmills, a dozen elipticals, 8 arc trainers, yoga room, spinning room, huge pool and a couple racquetball courts. Good staff, lots of nice folks. I work out in the morning at 5:30, which draws the 'older' crowd. I am almost 49 and weigh 181 or so, yet I am the young guy and the big guy at that time of day. :)

I really like the place. The only problem is that the health club is directly under the kitchen, so you can be busting your a$$ to get lean, yet come 6:30 AM all you smell is bacon, sausages, onions and peppers being cooked up.

Xsport. Its a nice gym. have a lot of seasonal people right now tho.

POWERHOUSE GYM..f*cking loved it but i had to change because i moved and i dont own a car..i now go to city fitness..its not terrible but there missing a few things i like..two major plusses though..all the girls that work there are slammin.one told me i was hot.gonna hit that soon.lol and all the weights are brand new.powerhouse was more of a undergound hole in a wall hardcore gym so the equipment wasnt maintained so great

Anytime Fitness. I don't like it but it works and it's the only close gym other then planet fàggôt. Benches are janky and unstable, only 2 power racks and no individual bench presses or squat racks so every dick in the gym is trying to get the racks and they're usually doing dumb crap. unless you go when it's dead then. Overpriced at $25 a month IMO. Wish it was a fitness 19 , much cheaper , more equipment , better quality machines and much more selection.

My 24hr fitness bill is 50 bucks a year

Lifetime fitness!!! I appreciate the luxury! I pay $80.00 a month plus another $100 to have a level V trainer design my workouts and be available for consults.... I have an olympic size pool inside and out, even on the busiest days I never have to wait for any station. All classes and fitness evaluations are included including the 90 minute hot yoga class I take once a week! I love it!

Does that come with a happy ending? It would have to after each workout for me to pay that much for a gym.

It's more than worth it! Like I said, I appreciate luxury .... two full sized basketball courts, rock wall, hot towels, swimming pools, spas, restaurant, body salon, classes, yoga,, and besides I can easily afford it!! My house is paid off, paid cash for my car,, all I have is taxes, insurance, electricity and life's little luxuries to pay for! Life is good bro!

BALLER!!! Lol

The gym is where I spend the majority of my time when not at work,, working out, taking classes and hanging by the pool all day ... I don't drink or go to clubs anymore,, so in terms of entertainment value, a couple hundred bucks a month is a lot less than what I used to spend in one night out on the town,,, I have a simple life.

Wish I had it so simple.... Oh wait I did till I got married again and had a kid. I love them both, I only wish they came with a winning lottery ticket!

Never been married but me and my girlfriend, who lives with me, have a 9yo boy

I worked hard to make this happen,, busted my arse to pay off everything,, went without a lot of luxuries to get here,, now that I am, I'm enjoying every minute!! Just wish I could retire,, still work wayyyyyy too much at an extremely stressful job...

They'd have to cup my balls while I lifted for that much.

The way I see it, either you've never experienced luxury like this, the gym is a low priority for you or you can't afford it. In any case, don't hate because those three things don't apply to me! :)

Lol, nah, wrong on all 3 counts, I'm just joking around, I think some gym fees are nuts, but I would be a member at an expensive gym again if it was convenient for me. I have a 24 hour supersport right by me which is just okay, but I got a pretty good deal. If Equinox was open later, I'd be a member there even though it's like 130 a month, but they close at 7 and I lift after work.

I was mainly just looking for an excuse to use the phrase "cup my balls."

Not low priority, it serves a purpose for me and its not my hang out. I go, I lift , I go home and eat fuk shît sleep, In no specific order, then I wake up for work, or a day with family and repeat the rest. Now if i were single and didn't go out to the bars and had alot of time to myself I'd join a super gym again for chsnge of scenery but like the last time I joined a big gym I'd rarely use and/or get bored of the "luxuries" and end up paying for alot of sht I don't use or need. With the exception of having my balls cupped! I do believe that would help my squats immensely! .... Anyway I treat my gym like a cheap whore. I go in with one purpose, it's got what I need to get what I need done, I take care of business, I get out feeling good and I don't pay much for the whole deal ;-) .... Oh yeah and I wash up when I'm done but still have gotten a couple strange rashes over the years.

You had me until i saw this arrogant post. Not everyone has what you have so dont rub it in. We're all just happy to have a place to lift.
