This really depends on the compound you're using and some personal preference. If it's hormonal, I would not recommend applying it later in the day.

For resveratrol, I would apply twice a day. upon waking, and after my post workout shower (I workout in the early evenings).

my personal preference. Plus, there are some added benefits for the evenings activities
