We cuttin now ✂️

14 day aggressive mini diet anyone? Cuz that's probably what I would have to do is crash diet that final week do a water load/cut to make that weight.

Yeah it’s not macro friendly for a cut lol!
What if I skip my first 3 meals, eat a 20oz dry chicken breast for dinner and have the pumpkin roll with a couple Imodium AD as a side dish? Stevie always finds a way to eat some 🍰 😜

I've actually been doing well with controlled hunger and not binging. Had 2 desserts over 3 weeks, placed them both on a high day

Sometimes you gotta let the inner fat kid eat! I know I do mine!

So... I ALMOST feel like a dick posting this in a cut thread, but since you eat more on a cut than I do on a lean bulk... not so much:). Cheat meal:
4 day fermented dough
San marzano sauce
Basil, fennel sausage, mushrooms, pecorino romano, parmigiano reggiano, whole milk mozzarella and a touch of cheddar. Cut into 8 slices... I polished off 2 cheese and 4 sausage/mushroom.

It's all good, we all love food around here. The food pictures are the only things that are keeping the log going right now because everything else I'm doing is so boring lol. I guess I should start posting some more of the training I'm doing since I'm lifting a little more regularly again and not just doing a ton of conditioning work..

I did hit a set of 21 Max reps chin UPS yesterday morning, my all-time best was 27 when I was actually trying to work on building up my Pull-Ups. I think I was doing sets of five with added 75 lb at the time as well. I won't be stretching my shoulders under any super heavy loads like that though.

Yesterday after a long warm up I superset

6 sets of chins 2x wide, 2x neutral and 2x curl grip with 6 sets of hack squats.

4 sets of chest supported cable rows with barbell reverse hylers

3 sets of rear delt flys with DB curls

I thought I was being more aggressive this week and I stepped on the scale at 190 lb again this morning so I'm going to do a little more dramatic reduction and increase my cardio. I don't bother tracking my step count because I pretty much never stop moving so it's not like I can get more steps 😂. Over the course of the week I'm getting roughly six total hours of high intensity cardio and I'm taking a few morning walks and a few 1.5-2 mile (30min) walks to end the day.

One thing to note, I had to reduce my nebivolol to 2.5 and I'm probably going to have to stop at all together. I like using it to help keep my heart rate lower, I'm sure we've talked about it a million times but I just have that sympathetic nervous system drive and I always have a racing heart and 5mg nebivolol keeps me at around the high 60s or low 70s bpm.

Since dropping the 2.5 mg it's more like 75 to 80 which is still okay, but the problem is even with the reduced dose, being off cycle and doing tons of cardio, my blood pressure is like 100-110/55-65. And it's trending downward. I'm going to have to find something else to use to lower resting heart rate if needed. One thing I've been doing a lot is practicing nasal breathing as a way to naturally bring down that sympathetic drive but it sucks to have to walk around consciously thinking about it all day. It's just really annoying having low blood pressure and a high resting heart rate. It's all related to ADHD and a high sympathetic drive

Have you played with L-Theanine at all? 100mg caps are cheap as chips, and it definitely calms things down for many with anxiety. Might be worth seeing if it helps. You can take it throughout the day longterm.

Haha, I am on an aggressive cut for a bit longer than that, but we are in this together. I am carb cycling, keto during the week and a big refeed on the weekend. Adding in some fasting, and time restricted feeding on the Keto days as well. Judging by my carbed upweights, I have dropped about 5lbs in this frist 2 weeks of actual weight. I was 220.1 before starting, and 214.6 this morning after my refeed over the weekend but hit a low of 207 so I was down 13lbs at one point before the refeed.

Yeah I use it pretty much year round, I have a few posts in this thread somewhere about how I use 200 mg twice a day along with NAC for anxiety. Unfortunately it barely puts a dent in it

I'm talking about going into like a 1500 calorie deficit for 2 weeks lol, that's how I used to do those mini cuts a few years back. My baseline calories would be like $3,600 and then I drop down to 2200 for 2 weeks and drop like 12 lb 😂

Yeah, I would say I was somewhere close to that most days of the last 2 weeks when you consider the TRF and fasting. I dropped 13lbs in 13 days before my refeed. This week will be the same but straight into the carb refeed this weekend instead of waiting for 2 which was for the keto break in period.

What do your refeeds look like

This last one was not organized, I had a date night with the wife and got stuck doing some errands before hand so I had to cram, and my fats were higher than I wanted due to eating out twice but I think I got in 350-500g of carbs saturday and about 150-200 on Sunday.

This week the fats will be much lower and I will get in a lot more starches, I had to rely on more sugar stuff this time than I wanted too.

Feel free to walk us through it this weekend, I'd like to hear about

So I’ve been on a kick with Buldak Ramen the last half a year or so. Nearly every weekend (the only time I eat carbs) I have a pack of ramen (sometimes more).

Now that calories are getting tighter, I haven’t even wanted fast food or really even restaurant food - I want to spend my calories and saturated fat on Buldaks! 🤣

So this weekend on Saturday I ate a pack of my favorite, the Rose, and at another meal I tried the Quattro Cheese for the first time. I mixed the cheesy ones with fat free refried beans in some keto tortilla wraps with a little ff Greek yogurt and they came out like Taco Bell Cheesy Bean & Rice (Ramen) burritos 🌯 It was exactly what I wanted, primo slop 🤌

My kids love those, my daughter used to have all these spicy ones delivered to the house all the time, I'm actually a fan of spicy food and I made one of these and it was so f****** hot I had to cut it with two more servings of noodles to thin out the f****** sauce 😂.

The last time I made them I used 1/4 of the flavoring packet and it was still burning my face.

They're definitely a much better ramen tho! I've got a couple packs of them in my hallway right now

I walked through this weekend in my log, but will definitely keep a tally of this coming weekend in there.

That sounds good! I love the Buldaks, and they at least have lower fat than a lot of the other brands.

No doubt, just the spicy ones are pretty serious and if you get the 2X spicy it is the REAL DEAL! I really like their Spicy Carbonara, just enough cream to take some of the crazy edge off of them.

I seriously don’t even like spicy food. I do love Jalapeno and Habanero flavor (Reign used to make a Strawberry Jalapeño energy drink that rocks, but now it’s super expensive because it’s so niche). But I had to basically just build a tolerance to the Buldaks.

I like the texture and flavor SO much that I just kept going through the suffering lol. Now they seem to bother me a bit less. But I don’t buy the regular Black ones; I like the creamy ones. I’d eat free Black ones, but I prefer the flavors. A guy at the gym swears by the Biria flavor but haven’t tried it (he puts it with eggs and tortillas).

Rose is the king for me 👑

I also really like the Buldak Carbonara Mac n Cheese. It’s like a spicy/sweet Kraft, and lower fat than the ramen. I usually eat a box of that too at some point.

I'm grateful to not be on a cut while my wife is on a baking kick. we are getting 2-4 loaves of sourdough per week and the occasional pretzel buns for burger night right now lol.

The bread doesn't last in our house. I tried to count my carb intake but my calculator won't go that high.

I love sourdough, and most breads, and smash burgers, and regular burgers and French fries, and pizza and, and, ........🤤

Whoever thinks that a diet and cardio doesn't work for blood pressure..... This is after 8 hours on a job I didn't want to do followed by a argument with my girl when I got home. I could feel myself getting worked up so I decided let's see what the blood pressure and heart rate says. This is super consistent for me now.

I'm very tempted to bump trest from 25 to 100 after bloods. Just to see how it effects BP. I already dropped nebivolol to 2.5 and Bringing nebivolol down to 1.25mg starting tomorrow so I can just stop using it.

Once it is out my system, maybe il give 5 amino 1 mq a shot. I've heard nothing but amazing feedback on the stuff.

Trest cranks my BP, need Telmisartan right away (which is also good for managing bloat anyway).

It raises mine as well. But I'm wondering because if my baseline is so low right now, if it would bring it up enough to see a problem. I don't think it would be too bad. Previously I was using telmasartin with trest. I actually love the cosmetic effect I get from telmasartin in general too, I always look leaner after using telmasartin for a few weeks.

Earlier this year I had that weird issue for like 2 days in a row where my BP spiked to 150+/95+. I still have no clue what could have caused it. But I panicked and started 40mg telmasartin and 5mg nebivolol. After it normalized it continued to drop in my BP was getting way too low way too fast so I had to drop one. 5mg Nebivolol had me like 115/70 on the regular, but once I kicked up the cardio and cut calories everything started trending downward again.

(and this is also how I discovered nebivolol was like a massive win for me on the heart rate issues)

I screwed up last night. I went from almost zero carbs and about 900 calories before my workout into a low calorie low carb post workout meal that I made like a mini pizza and then I just went off the rails and started eating. I ended up eating a bunch of Crock-Pot mini meatballs that my mother had made, then I ended up eating a couple bowls of cereal with bananas and then I went for some Greek yogurt but of course I added granola, I had to run to the store and grab something and my girl asked me to pick her up a club soda on the way home so I went to McDonald's and got two double cheeseburgers and a club soda 😂 and I ended up eating like 4,200 calories by bed.

I woke up 6 pounds heavier I know it's only going to last for one day and I got the bubble guts like a mother f***** and I feel kind of bloated and gross but it doesn't look like it did a ton of visual damage other than maybe being a little bit puffy in my stomach.

I definitely still need to lose more body fat because I feel like one meal like that shouldn't do it to me. So here's a bloated picture and I'm using that word loosely I'm not super bloated I just f***** my stomach up from all this garbage food. I'll try to get another picture in like 2 or 3 days when my weight goes back to 188

100% dude. my buddy had a heart attack a couple years ago at age 39 or 40 but it was mild. He still needed surgery and check his bp twice a day at work and the surgery was scheduled like 5 months after incident, but still. anyways, I made a game of it at the office and we'd all use his monitor every day to see where we were. I was used to a RHR of like 47-50 so when mine was a lot higher that day I was like ah **** i"m dying 😂 I put in 2 weeks of cardio and it was back to like 54.

That low resting heart rate you have is amazing that is something that they see amongst Olympic athletes at the highest level all of them having a very low resting heart rate.

just post the first pic and let people know this is what you can accomplish off 2 double cheeseburgers if you stick to a sparkling water and skip the sugar from soda pops.

its gotta be part genetics and a lifetime of hard sports. even though I played football and baseball, I also wrestled, ran track, had like a decade of BMX racing (which is all sprints) and then that 10 years of xfit so I imagine my heart can take some level of abuse. but my mom in her mid 60s is still the same way even though she basically refuses to work out. shes not fat by any means, she stays country fit, but she was a varsity swimmer and went to the junior olympics back in the day so I imagine that between her genetics and being an athlete since about age 5 I've given my heart a strong chance of survival if I don't f it up too bad.

It really doesn’t look like you did hardly any damage at all. Abs are looking good and it looks like you’re doing a good job of hanging on to muscle. Ha, it’s ok to go off the rails every once in awhile, it helps feed that beast within and keep him satisfied.👍

I would agree, my cousin Anthony has a resting heart rate so low that when he goes for his annual physical the doctor always says..... you alive? And even though he doesn't do much anymore he was a high level athlete throughout most of his youth. I actually got him back in the gym less than a year ago. At 39 years old, 180 lb, and 100% natural to the point where he doesn't use any supplements or anything doesn't even take a multivitamin! He's up 20 lb and added 85 lb to his bench press. He benched 225 for a set of 17 the other day. He already kind of hit the wall though. So now we're trying to figure out some stuff to get him making progress again. He's not willing to take anything so we got to be militant with his training and food moving forward.

Thanks, y'all know I love to binge eat every once in awhile so it's hard to keep it in control sometimes.
When I'm just trucking along and maintenance mode I can pretty much eat whatever I want and it's been a while since I had to tell myself no or really think about my food decisions

thats insane. I took 14 reps last week and it was a 2 rep PR for me lol. its crazy some of the smaller guys I see benching huge numbers and benching them very well.

Just get right back on the diet and push your next reload/hi day back some (restart the carb/calorie cycle if you will, the clock til you have a carb up).

You didn’t cause any damage at all, just slowed fatloss progression to your goal. But you are fine man.

Don't sweat it, you know it will fal right back off. Just a speed bump.

Yep, literally overnight. I did go all day without eating tho. Did a actually fast, well, I had two 10 calorie energy drinks 🤷

I'm giving myself a 4-Hour window and 2000 calories for the remainder of the week just to see what happens. I got rid of all the half and half and creamers in my house so that I can't even have my morning coffee because I know I'll put cream in it. Not particularly a fan of black coffee unless I'm swingin it like a pre-workout

He's a little over 200 lb right now at 5 ft 7ish so he's not that little. His body fats probably around 20% though

Taking a day off today, did a bunch of manual labor so I burned a shitload of calories but I skip today's workout and called out of my gym shift.

I'm just sore as ****. I managed to do some leg training almost every day for the past few days not intentionally but it's all kind of compounded and my legs are super sore and I'm just a little rundown. My glutes actually hurt worse than anything so it's annoying to sit in a chair as well. I haven't lifted anything particularly heavy but over the past few days I've done

Gladiators
Box jumps
Jumping split lunges
Jumping rope
Trap bar jumps and jumps with heavy dumbbells
Hack squats
Reverse hypers
Wall sits and Asian squats
Plus I've done cardio on the incline treadmill and the wind bike
