Wasme's recomp journey....

So went out with my wife for dinner and a walk downtown... these two business suits come out of a supplement shop and are walking beside us. One says to the other 'the amazing thing about the supplement industry is these companies can put anything they want in the bottle. There are no restrictions or regulations. They don't even have to tell you what is in it as long as they put proprietary blend. You literally have no idea what you are taking.'

I had to laugh and said rather loudly to my wife, this guy has no fn clue what he is talking about. His friend was eating that sh*t right up though...People are completely brain dead.

A quick update, before I head out for a walk.

My back / leg have improved significantly over the last few days. Lower back is a little stiff in the am, but leg pain really is only there when I over do it. I am confident I am finally over this hurdle.

My plan is to workout in the evenings (as much as I dislike that) for the time being - for the simple fact that my body will be far more loose come that time. For two weeks I am going to keep things light (probably 25-50% of my normal loads). And of course I am not doing anything bent over to start with. But I am psyched to get back at it tomorrow.

I will put my own workouts together - they will be simple with the purpose of just getting me back into a groove. I want to make sure I am good to go before restarting a Meadows Routine or FST 7.

Thanks for all the support along the way everyone.

leaves a mess on the living room floor?

And the walls...

.

I took this approach as well. Didn't want to jump back in an do anything to cause injury. I'm sure you'll come up with something to put some hard work into.

Wasme you and special go hand and hand. I'm glad your feeling better brother. Hope it continues to heal.

Leg and lower back felt decent most of the day, so as planned I went with a light workout. Decided to go with push/pull/legs and rotated through that for a couple of weeks with a day off probably everything fourth.

Push
Bench Press 5x10
Incline Bench Press 5x10
Military Press 5x10
Tricep Overhead Rope Ext. 4x12
Tricep VBar Pushdown 4x12

Rest periods for bench were 45 seconds, all other lifts were 30 seconds.

Went with 1/2 scoop of Stimul8 prior to my workout. Typically I would go 3/4 upto 1 rounded scoop. However, I didn't want to get too into the zone and then over do it. Which is exactly what would have happened.

Post workout (90 minutes now) no pain at all.

Bet it feels great to get back into it!

Good call with the 1/2 scoop.

I plan to start either this upcoming Monday or the next one. Probably the next one when I have gone through my 'two week warmup'.

No problems this morning with back or leg from yesterday's workout. So tonight will be a pull workout - update to follow on that one.

Ok as mentioned no ill effects from yesterdays workout. So decided to have a pull session. Did notice a bit of slight aggravation by the time I got to my ez curls - however, this has already dissipated.

I did dose 3/4 scoop of Stimul. Yesterday was 1/2 scoop (as to not get in that groove too much), should have stuck with a 1/2 as I did end up adding to my session on the fly lol - mentally just felt too good.

Wide Grip Pulldowns 5x12 - kneeling position with a long stretch at the top
Narrow Grip Palms Facing Pulldows 5x10
Stretchers 3x12 - really good stretch and very slow eccentric

Dumbbell Shrugs 3x10 - 2 second hold at the top
Facepulls 3x12 - 3 second hold at contraction

Preacher Curls 4x10
EZ Bar Curls 4x10 - 3 second during eccentric portion

...to be honest I could have kept going. In fact I got everything set up for Legs tomorrow. I haven't felt this kind of energy for a few weeks.

Just spreading the word here for a second,

Dead tired all day today. But had the leg portion of my workout on tap after work. Dosed up a little over 1/2 scoop of Stimul8 - felt energized 10-15 minutes later and went out to the garage. Workout went ok, but not as good as planned. Stiff Leg Deadlifts was a no go after about rep 5 as i could really feel it in my leg and not in a good way lol. I am hoping my next leg workout will prove to be more fruitful.

Barbell Squats 5x8 - did not get as deep as normal on these but of course was protecting my back. The depth and weight will certainly come though.

Leg Extensions 6x15 - 1 second pause at the top

Barbell Stiff Leg Deadlifts 1x5 - was going slow and steady but simply uncomfortable

Lying Leg Curls 6x15 - Hard focus here on the mind/muscle connection - hams got pretty pumped up

Standing Calves - 3x10 - Slow movement up and down with a pause at the top and bottom.

In all likeness I will attempt legs again on Sunday. I am sure it will go better as I will be that much more recovered from my injury.

Tomorrow is slated as a day off - resuming the Push/Pull/Legs on Friday.

Nice work Wasme.

I too would avoid SLDL's and heavy squats to prevent back pain.

Maybe front squats would be easier at keeping the back straight?? (Never done them)

Damn dude stay away from sldl and heavy dl and back sqts. I agree ^^^^^ Go with frt sqts. Nobody does heavy frnt sqts(im close) and its much easier on the low back.
Repeated disc injury can lead to degeration as well. Then u will be fukd. Be safe bro.

Everything was light was just testing the waters.. but next go around perhaps I will give some front squats a go. Thanks.

For real dude...if you fûck up the quality of our bedroom time, I'm gonna be pissed.
