Awesome workout, congrats on that PR!!!!

Well, the "torched" didn't last long.
Got off at noon, relaxed, and decided to do a little more workout here at home.
So, besides the HS OHP PR this morning here is this evening's workout:

One arm BB rows no rest between left and right arms. 90 seconds between sets.
50 x 10
75 x 10
100 x 10
125 x 10
150 x 8

Meadows Rows done same rest as above.
50 x 10
75 x 10
100 x 10
125 x 10
150 x 8

Actually I feel pretty good. Don't want to totally exhaust myself as I have legs in the morning.

There you go with those crazy OHP again! So insane!

Off at noon? You work for government?

Leg workout this morning. For some reason I felt tight...lol
Decided to keep it moderate today.

360 x 10
450 x 10
540 x 10

540 x 10
630 x 10

Leg extensions

Seated leg curls
105 x 15
120 x 15
135 x 15
150 x 15
165 x 15

And now time for bfast and coffee!

I normally will hit 630. PR is around 720. It's a shame my spine blew out or who knows where my Squats and deadlifts would've went. 15 years ago I hit 600 on deadlift. Could've been part of the problem with me blowing out the lower back. I can rack pull 500 plus right now with no problem, shoot I do 470 on shrugs. I put the bar on the floor though and my lumbar says no way, stop. So I settle for Hack squats and leg press now and my back thanks me...lol

I know right~? this guy is a monster in the gym

I agree and so proud that someone my age (50's) is such a beast in the gym. He's an example of what this life is all about!

Thanks guys, you're too kind. Just trying to be the best I can each day. It's an addiction too...lol

I get inspired when I read the logs in here. So, I try to do my part and hope mine will inspire the same as how I'm inspired.

Insane chest workout day. Well, simply insane due to my upper body got thrashed all week anyway and I've been restricting Cals some to start cutting.

Pyramid style!

Incline Barbell press 3 sec pause reps
135 x 10
185 x 10
205 x 10
225 x 5
235 x 5
255 x 4
275 x 1
255 x 4
235 x 5
225 x 5
205 x 5
185 x 5
135 x 10

My arms and front delt's started really feeling this. That pause on 275 was tough at the last 2 inches(definite sign of fatigue), but the 2nd set of 255 went better than the first set.

My wife always ask me, how long you gonna keep pushing the limits?
I say just a little more, I'm almost there...lol

I see videos of late 70's men competing in powerlifting tourneys. I'm sure you have many years of pushing it.

Dang!!! lol

Late 70's - I was one skinny teenager! I was running 10-15 miles a day as I was a long distance runner. Bet I didn't weigh 120lbs...lol

Arms day!! Actually haven't done just an arms day in several weeks.

With your surgery's / back... you have proven you can overcome anything and come out on top. There is no stopping you Brian...

One heckuva burn after that!

DB Side lateral SS front laterals most all were pause reps
20 x 10 / 20 x 10
20 x 10 / 20 x 10
20 x 10 / 20 x 10
25 x 10 / 25 x 10
Oh the pain!

380 x 15

Out of time thankfully...lol

LOL

You're killing it with these short times.

Nice lifting Brian, I know those raises burned!

Thanks Chris. I do these strict form with no knee/leg momentum like you see so many in the gym use. Guy next to me this morning was bobbing up and down using his knees with the 30's. I wanted to tell him to lock his knees and lower the weight and he'd get a lot more out of them...but I didn't...lol

Yeah, there is a time for cheat raises but when doing those you pause at the top and resist the lowering portion. Flapping around like a horny stork doing a mating dance is not getting them anywhere!

You can pretty much tell those guys who do really strict shoulder work by the weight used. A strict side raise with much over 25 is hard as a son of a bitch! I even go up to 50 sometimes doing cheats to get in the iso at the top and the heavy negative but then it is one arm at a time, anchored with the other and fighting the negative. Know what and why you are doing it. That is called training. Doing it just because you see others do it or it is in a program not knowing the focus is called working out.

LMAO on the "horny stork" description!! Shoulders fried! Nice job in such a short time!

I paid the price last night. Woke up around midnight with the worst headache ever. My traps were so tight that with my fusions in my neck they had caused pressure on the nerves. I've had this happen a few times now. Only relief is a muscle relaxer. Got to sleep about 0230. Woke up at 0530 and all was good. Good thing today is a rest day...

Ouch, no bueno!

You might try pushing down and out on your shoulders when doing raises so it puts the traps on a stretch then they can not get tight. By that I mean try to push the dumbbells to the floor at the bottom and as you raise the weight imagine you were also trying to push it out to the wall or touch the walls with them. Pushing them out and away from the body forces the traps into an elongated state and keeps them from getting involved in moving the weight.
