Turff49 Quest for Success

That's how you know it was good...

That's what I was thinking!

Hope you rest up a bit! You've been hitting it like crazy for a while plus the stress of a new job--you need a little break!!

Ok, couldn't stay out of the gym. Monday was a normal rest day and I took yesterday off since it was arms. Tendinitis felt better but obviously isn't gone and it had some effect on my workout.

And I called it a day. Gotta drive to Savannah this afternoon. Meeting in the morning and then head back home. Head to Bradenton Fl Monday for a few days. New job has me hopping!

Do you wear wraps? I bet the compression cuff would work for you too. I had to wear it on the hammer strength.

I wear Versa Gripps and tighten them up for heavier lifts. They are wide enough to work for that purpose.

Beast OHP! 300! I can't even imagine. Very nice.

Hopping all over in this icky weather!!

Still killing it in here.

Late workout today. Outside in the not so warm...

Front Squats
135 x 15 x 2
205 x 10 x 2
225 x 10

A couple sets of deadlifts 225 x 10 x 2

Bent over barbell rows
135 x 10 x 2
205 x 10 x 2
225 x 8

One arm BB rows SS with the Meadows
70 x 10
90 x 10
125 x 10
135 x 5

Meadows rows
70 x 10
90 x 10
125 x 10
135 x 10

Stopped on the deadlifts because I just wasn't feeling it. As it gets warmer outside I'll start incorporating them more.

Tomorrow morning will be legs. Not sure if I'll go heavy or not, have to see how I feel. Tendinitis seems to be getting better...

Nice WO Brian. Looks like it was a fun one, despite the cold.

Thanks Thomas. I hate the winter months simply because I don't get to do certain exercises at home. Deads, fronts, bb rows. Yeah, I could do them at the gym but I enjoy doing those and barbell pressing at home. The weather is starting to get where it's not bad. As long as it's above 38 I'm good. And no rain...

Workout looked good from here as well.. I'll take that weather my friend

Good ole Leg day!
The front squats yesterday had my core muscles feeling just right so I made it a heavy day!
I also threw some light weight curls in too.

That would really suck. I wish I had your setup here. Today would be a perfect day to hit up the back without going to the gym with all the kids that are there on Saturdays.

Nice leg sesh. I'd be soaked with sweat.

Your numbers never cease to amaze me. I workout outside as well but cold for me rarely gets below 45 deg ...

Thanks guys. Yeah I was feeling it today at work. Well, work being my old job. I still work it as part time casual and needed to rebuild a system on one of the sites. Lots of kneeling and up and down. It was taking its toll on me for sure lol!

Agree with all the posts above. Impressive lifts Brian! Inspirational to me!

Chest day!

Changed up a few things. Had a great pump in the end. First time I tried SS HS chest press with HS incline...it fried my chest lol!

1.HS chest with seat close to top. Puts the handles down very low.
2.HS chest with seat a lot lower. Puts the handles up at top of chest
3.HS incline with seat positioned with handles even with delts.
1 set of each equals a SS with no rest other than moving to machine.

High. Incline. Low
SS 1 - 100 x 15. 110 x 12. 100 x 15
SS 2 - 190 x 15. 160 x 10. 190 x 15
SS 3 - 240 x 10. 200 x 10. 240 x 15
SS 4 - 280 x 10. 200 x 8. 280 x 10

Incline flys
40 x 12
50 x 10
55 x 10
60 x 10

Dips
BW x 10 x 4

Skull crushers
60 x 15
80 x 15
90 x 15
100 x 12

And I was toast. I was only in the gym for 42 minutes. Drank 4 bottles of water during that time and consumed more than my allotment of O2! Not sure I can handle doing a triple SS like that very often...lol

Insane!!! I love your drive! Great way to switch things up on the HS too! Very creative!!

Interesting. Gonna have to try that...

With the seat real high does it not put more strain on the shoulders?

Only on the initial push off. Other than that then I didn't notice any issue.

Read your workout, and feel guilty about another rest day...

Haha! Tomorrow is a rest day for me! I take my share of rest days, just as important as workouts!! Lol

Man that super set on the HS must have tore you up. How did the pecs feel the next day?

No workout the past few days. If I count all the driving I worked all but about8 hours the past 3 days. Those 8 hours were sleeping...still got 3 more hours of driving to do before I get home too. Crazy week.

Drive safe man

Be careful brother and get some quality rest before you hit up your next lift.

Thanks everyone! After getting home I realized I only had 7hrs sleep in a 70hr period. That won't happen ever again.

After not working out the past 4 days other than cardio I hit back today. Felt a little weak but not bad over all

HS ISO lateral rows
100 x 10
190 x 10
240 x 10
280 x 10

One arm BB rows SS with Meadows rows
70 x 10 / 70 x 10
90 x 10 / 90 x 10
115 x 8 / 115 x 8
125 x 8 / 125 x 8

Shrugs pause in contraction each rep
200 x 10
290 x 10
380 x 10

Wide grip pull downs. No angle and pull down to center chest
110 x 10
135 x 10
150 x 10
170 x 10
190 x 10 - close underhand grip

Overall a good workout!

Looks to me like you came back pretty strong. You give me a week off and I'd be like Bieber.

Ain't that the truth! I left the other company due to travel and being away from home. Might have to go back because at least it was structured and I got paid for hours worked. On straight Salary here and I think they think they can take advantage. Good thing is the old company still use me as part time casual and would take me back in a heartbeat.

Great quote! Looked like an awesome workout and you all are correct, quality of life is more important than monetary things. I stay pretty happy with not too much and am not a worrier. I consider myself to be lucky that I am wired in a way that allows me to be very content with life. Even if things are not that great. For me my time and family experiences are far more valuable than any money I could bring to the table if I were to sacrifice more of my living time for money.

Hit a quick, light, but wear you out workout on legs this morning. No rest other than to catch some O2.

Hack squat
Slow down3-4 seconds then explosive up)
150 x 15
240 x 20 tempo was killer
330 x 20 geez ole Pete on this tempo
330 x 10

Leg press same tempo as the hacks. Feet spacing on the edge(wide stance)
270 x 15
360 x 15
450 x 15
540 x 15

Ok, legs were on fire. Been awhile since I've done such a slow descent.

Leg extensions
Couldn't maintain that tempo so these were normal
105 x 12
120 x 12
135 x 12
150 x 12
165 x 12
185 x 12

Seated leg curls
105 x 12
120 x 12
135 x 12
150 x 12
165 x 12

May do some fronts at home this evening.

Lol! Yes it is. Definitely not as fun as going heavy but still an awesome workout for every now and then!

Quick and light! SMHS!

And I just finished doing some front squats outside. I'm glad I can get back to doing these.
135 x 5 x 3
205 x 5 x 2
225 x 5

I did take advice and elevated my heels a little. Relieved any lower back tightness but seems to put more on the knees. Not bad at these weights though. Time for winter to get out of here!

Nice job.. and agree on winter... although right about now, I'd gladly take your winter.

Sheesh! That's pure craziness!!! You sure are hitting it strong/hard to have been running on nothing for that long!!

Love that quote Kenpo!! Sadly true in many cases!

Today was actual "bench" workout. Something I've been able to get in this winter. Usually do chest on HS and DB's. And I can tell too. Felt a little weak and stiff from the get go.

Flat bench
135 x 10 x 2
175 x 10 x 2
205 x 9 x 2
225 x 5
225 x 4
Flat just never feels comfortable for me. Much better on inclines.

High incline
135 x 10 x 2
175 x 10
205 x 8 x 2
225 x 8
240 x 5 - drop sets from here 30 sec rest
225 x 5
205 x 8
175 x 10
150 x 10
135 x 10

Overall I was happy even though I felt tight. I don't worry about my flat bench as I prefer inclines.

Incline is easier because your crazy strong shoulders. Nice benching man.

A little food porn! 3 4oz lean beef burger patties with pepper jack cheese and mushrooms and red potatoes baked and then cut and fried in coconut oil! Heaven!!

Sounds like heaven, but food porn usually comes with a pic...?
