I can definitely understand your brother, i would probably react the same way but that's really how it is. Nobody can prepare you for a parent coming out as gay and it goes beyond being gay but the fact that you might never loved your husband or wife and the kid will see that. Kids are not taught this at school or at home, kids are taught a man and a woman should be together. Society isn't really there yet, we need more time just like we did with women bot covering their legs.

The difference here is that children and animals are incapable of granting consent which is why it's illegal. What two consenting adults, men in your example, do in the privacy of their own homes is their own business and isn't any of anyone else's concern no matter how distasteful or "sick" they may find it. There are a lot of very bizarre heterosexual fetishes and sexual practices out there that many would find every bit as vile and "sick" as homosexuality but as long as it concerns consenting adults it isn't anybody else's business what goes on behind their closed doors.

I don't know what the scene is like in America (seems pretty crazy from over here in Aus) but in Australia we recently voted to legalise gay marriage.

For many of us, this was not about whether or not we personally agree with the gay lifestyle choice, it was about making sure everyone has the right to choose for themselves, and that we protect ourselves from the religious lobby that remains powerful in this country.

I can understand why you have a revulsion towards the gay agenda given your personal history, but would you want to live in a society that restricts your mum's freedom like that?

Honestly no matter how i feel about it its not for me to say. I dont agree with it. Do i think it needs to be taken to the point of persecution in any form? No. I just dont like that its all over tv, in the news, and all of that and my children are being exposed to it. I think its wrong. Just plain wrong and thats all there is to it. Everyone has their choices to make and all of us make wrong ones and those can have a huge impact on our lives and those around us. As a recoveri g drug addict who has lost 15+ years of life to deug abuse i can attsest to that. We dont always make the right choices. Thats ok. Do i have to agree with anyone else's? Nope. Idk that's just how i feel about all that. Im not trying to offend anyone.

Trust your instincts. What you're witnessing is a society being compelled by wealthy people who own the media to sacrafice their tradition and cultural norms on the altar of modernity and progress. We're already seeing the fallout from normalizing societal deviance. Children having sexual reassignment surgery and being prescribed hormones is the tip of the iceberg. Im probly done with this thread, but I want to reiterate that it has nothing to do with bigotry or wanting to control individual's private lives. This is about seeking the best possible outcomes for society and I dont think its currently on the best trajectory.

Yeah I don't agree with the eligibility of children for reassignment therapies. I think it's a personal decision that can only be made with an adult mind.

Also, with regard to transgender competition: there should be seperate categories for trans or they should be required to compete within birth gender category.

Yeah that was a **** show...I thought the delray misfits should be ashamed to step on stage...but trans or whatever...all but one individual looked like total crap..like they had never worked out...not once...in their entire life. Total disgrace to the sport....not because the are trans (I could care less) but because they looked like crap
 
All I am going to say is if you’re going to take hormones to turn you into a genetic female then the last thing you should ever want to do is compete in a sport whose primary function is to make you look more masculine.

As far as female to male transitions, well heck I think they ought to do it just like any other person with so much exogenous testosterone if they want. It’s not like any pros are natural.

I don't think anyone actually believes they are a woman that's why they want the second best thing. You don't honestly think someone just turns gay right? While I agree that the pc culture is redicilous I think gay people are taking blame for what bored straight individuals without any meaning in life are trying to pull off. Instead of treating people as equals they want straight people to treat transgender better than the average person, they try to make people look racist and make racism a huge deal even when racism barely exists, at least in my country. It's out of this world redicilous that you can't have an opinion which I absolutely let you have and I'm not gonna start saying I'm offended by it because I really don't care. I do however think it's outrageous to call everyone mentally ill because they want to change gender, if they're mentally ill it's because they were born in a way they didn't like. Some people wish they had better hair, that they are better at a sport, they were born with better genetics, singing voice, you name it.. Are these people also sick? because I'm pretty sure that even if humans did have some sort of instincts back in the days the attraction we have to other people isn't purely based on animalistic features like being tall and muscular. Humans have developed so much that we can have completely different taste while most animals look for specific features for the specific species.

Ill go right out and say that if you're changing your gender, yes you are mentally ill. And gay people are confused at best. Society is the reason people are ending up like this. Well a pedophile and a homosexual are not the same thing. It's like saying killing is normal. Killing was tolerated back in the days at least if they suspected you of doing something bad or maybe a women that was believed to be a witch and now 99% of all people are against it.. Times are changing and evolution Changes. Its crazy to believe that a gay person is just confused. What you're saying is that it's impossible for a man to love another man if they're not confused. The reason they are confused is because it's quite a big bomb to drop since every parent expects their kid to be straight because it's the most likely scenario. A pedophile almost always has some kind of diagnos and/or they've been raped as kids or abused and feel that the only people who want laugh at them or think they're weird are kids, same with animals, not to mention people marrying dolls. When you ask these people they say yeah I've never had a woman. Gay people almost always dates the other gender and they come out as gay when theyre adults and learn how to stand up for themselves. You don't think they new already as a kid that something wasn't right? Of course they knew, they never liked girls and you don't have to accept it. I will say though that im not intolerant, i dont treat these people any differently, i dont think they need to be punished (except pedophiles they should be killed) i just think its not natural, not normal, and not ok. But i treat them just like i would any other person

I'm not angry and I'm not trying to make you look stupid, I like you too so sorry if it came out as if I was arguing with any bad intentions. I respect your opinion because to me it's not important that everyone believes the same which seems to be the norm nowadays. Totally for free speech etc but i don't believe everyone is born straight. I think animals can be gay too but most animals don't feel love, it's instincts to reproduce, instincts we don't have anymore.

What I do believe or at least believe could be true is that if neither of you and me knew about women, we've never seen them and the people raising us teach us to be gay I'm not sure how we would turn out. Maybe we wouldn't find as much attraction as we do with women now but I definitely think it would confuse us not knowing anything else. When you go to school some women are considered the hottest at school, they aren't always the hottest just the most popular. When you get older you start making tour own decisions and you might look back and say that girl wasn't hit at all. Just like you and me might have a completely different taste I believe some people can be turned on by the same gender thats all and I can't imagine a man living 70 years as gay and actually just be confused. :)

Society's attitudes are shifting on gay culture because wealthy people have been funding campaigns to make that happen. Youve got to provide an actual argument as to how this will lead to better outcomes. Im not convinced that society is on a healthy trajectory currently. My main argument for that is that mental health issues (anxiety, depression, anti social personality, autism, schizophrenia) are on the rise across the board as well as suicide. I dont believe those to be markers of an increasingly healthy society.

I mean it's like people actually believe its a new thing. Just happened because some person thought it was cool. Strangely everything in the pc culture is slowly dying out except people's sexuality.
 
Americans tend to become religious when it's convinent. It's like whenever you ask them, are you Christian? They say yeah I don't believe in God but in a higher power. I go to church though.


but as soon as we're questioning sexuality or if we're talking war or abortion, (God) is in everyones picture. Everyone is laughing watching a Baptist priest curing homosexuality, most people are not convinced when people say you'll go to heaven or performing an exorcism but when you ask if they believe ghosts are real 50% says yes while any atheist arguably would say its the same thing. If you ask do you think you're born gay they say no and I have a lot of gay friends.

I truly believe it's not accepted in the US at the same level as in North West and arguably South Europe, I also believe when you're scared of something you either accept it or you force yourself not to accept it. Ghosts are more convinent to believe in because you can't do anything about them while being gay by nature you can at least try to tell the guy to snap out of it, crazy world but that's how science and religion crash.


We are all here and most of us believe the science of steroids, workouts,space, chemistry, biology etc. Well science tells us homosexuality is normal and not just a (thing).. Just let that sink in a little. Now what about abortion? Legal and accepted in most countries wtih good science? Legal but highly questioned in the US. Now I don't have any real opinion on abortion because I don't feel I have enough understanding to decide what's right and wrong in this case. I like America, I lived there but its just different than North, west Europe, I mean 300 million people, that's like the whole Europe, theres gotta be a lot of different opinions there.


Bottom line, I think many americans are confused.
 
Well, I believe in living as naturally as possible, and that goes for body builders and people with gender dysphoria, but I also believe its everyones right to do what they want with their body. I think if you're born a male/female that is biological and to fight it is futile. Nonetheless, as a person who believes in kindness, I hope everyone can just get along and enjoy their lives and find their own way to happy. I dont make a point of telling transgender people I disagree on their gender.

I do think we should be teaching children about reality vs fantasy. You cant just identify as whatever, biology is objective...

Being gay and being a pedophile are two completely different things. There is no violation of a person's freedom and rights when people choose to have consensual sex. I dont wanna watch, but I've also never tripped over two dudes bangin, so it hasn't been an issue for me. What we should be teaching society is one thing, but individuals should still have their rights.

There are similarities between yourself and a pedophile as well. But to categorize you with one is a subconscious equivalency that places a false moral judgement on you for some heinous thing you've never done. You are well aware of the difference, yet still place gays in the same category as a pedo. I think that is wrong as well as unintelligent.

I didnt say they were in the same category. I clearly said pedophiles were on a completely different level. All i am saying is that its not natural for someone to someone to be homosexual. Ive got no problem with them at all. But being born with a preference to have sex with the same sex is not something you are born with. Thats really all i am saying. Same thing with pedophilia. Same thing with transgender. Not lumping them all in together at all. Just saying something happened to make them think that way and it shouldnt just be widely accepted the way it is and make it ok for anyone who gets confused at a young age to claim themselves as something like that. I have four young children and i dont like how homosexuality is everywhere and everyone is telling them its ok to be that way. Hell no its not. My mom left my dad and became a lesbian, ive had good friends who were lesbian and gay. Seriously i dont have any problem with it aside from the one ive stated. Do i treat them any differently because of how i feel about it? No i dont.

It doent even matter if someone considers things normal. Things dont need to be "normal". Normal is boring. Also, most people have some type of abnormality, whether we know it or not. Thus, normal is abnormal and the whole concepy is dumb that anyone needs to be "normal'. I think the trans stuff is super weird and I dont like the whole thing where people think they can identify however they want cuz I dont think that's reality. However, When I've met trans people they have been nice people so that's all I need to be tolerant of someone, doesnt matter whether they are "normal". They still deserve respect. Their body is really none of my business unless they want to talk to me about it.

This reeks of “I have no problem with them blacks. They’re nice to me, so I’m nice to them. I don’t think humans are supposed to be non-white, but society is telling us to accept them, so I’ll talk to all them colors. My aunt was an Asian and talked normal, so I liked her. My cousin was a brown and liked sports, so he’s cool.”

I assumed you were from some rural uncultured place before I even looked at your profile, and I was right. The straight white heterosexual male slowly loses its higher-ranking power every year, and I know that’s difficult for some people to accept, but it’s reality. But sure, go ahead and keep screaming, “Get off my lawn.” We probably won’t change you and your thinking. The real pity here, though, is your kids. Wow dude assume much? You dont know anything about me. You can talk to anyone on here ive had dealings with about my character. Ive been around a minute. Just because im from north idaho doesnt mean anything. I find it crazy that i talk about my beliefs about this and get attacked. I was raised and taught a certain way. God created humans to be a certain way. I was raised to believe that god created us the way we are for a reason and the stuff thats happening in the world today doesnt have anything to do with god i can tell you that.

So because you were raised to think one way, THAT has to be the right way?? In a world of nearly 8 billion people, your beliefs and your god are surely the right one? What if my beliefs raised me to think children from Idaho are pedophiles? So now me and my followers just think your kids are pedos because that’s how we were raised. You can call my character into question because the people who matter to me know my character and those who dont dont matter. As long as you treat people kindly I can respect your difference of opinion. I just think whether one agrees with homosexuality or not, it clearly should not be a crime while pedophilia clearly should be. No comparison, no relationship. One of the worse societal forms of oppression many gays have experienced is being falsely equated to rapists and pedophiles. You make some good points. The pedophilia comparison just makes everyone stop listening. I dont think you are a terrible person but I also think you could find a less controversial and offensive way to make your point. It will also up the integrity of your argument and allow people to see what you are actually trying to say...
 
Being gay isn't a choice and it is something you're born with, the only ones denying that are people who denies science.

Pedophilia is often caused by being abused as a child, having some kind of diagnosis caused by a troubled childhood is very common.

A psychopath is born, a sociopath is created, they have very similar traits but while the sociopath might have a hard time keeping jobs, the psychopath is charming, often highly educated. The former is more impulsive while the latter is calculated.

These are mental disorders, being gay is not a mental disorder and therefore nobody just *turns gay* and if people wanna put them in the category of the psychopath meaning that the brain is vired differently that would make sense but I'm pretty sure nobody would be calling a gay guy a psychopath, I don't think they'll cause any harm towards people.

As far as being transgender I think it's more about how we grow up, I think some people, especially gaypeople sometimes rather wanna be a woman. I think it's rare but I don't think it's unreasonable to believe people like that just exists and just like 99% of the kids wanna be cowboys and 0.1% of the adults, or how 0.1 of Las Vegas wants to be elvis. YES it's rare and weird because it's rare but it doesn't mean it's they are sick.

To me, it is when people dont understand that biology is a reality we must learn to cope with that it goes.from individualism to disorder. There are folks born without limbs. I'm pretty sure they think everyday about what it would be like, but their reality is just that, reality. To truly think one is something different than they are biologically is a break from reality that I would consider a mental disorder. It's the difference between furries vs. thinking one is actually a bear or cat etc. If you wanna dress up as a bear and get bear surgery you get to do that. Just dont get mad at me if I dont agree you are a bear or I look twice cuz I am not used to seeing bear people and I wont go out of my way to say you're not a bear....but youre not a bear.

Now I assume you only talk about transgenders and not gay people?

It anyone (believes) they are something they're not I might be able to accept it as a disorder but someone who (wants to be different) or wants to be called something because it makes them feel better is another thing.

I can dress like Michael Jackson, I can change my name to Michael Jackson but I'm not gonna be a brother of the Jackson 5.

I don't mind calling a she for he out of respect but I'm not gonna go and say that a woman is actually a man biologically.

I think we have to separate believing from wanting, there are people claiming they are black when they are white and I'm scratching my head a little because there's no way I would call a white man black. Now I do understand the reasoning that it's literally the same thing as a woman claiming she's a man (she's not) but it's a bit silly that I somehow now gonna start calling someone by their color when I'm not doing that normally..

Now let's say the person DID change skincolor, it's possible I'd be fooled and actually believe hes black, and arguably he is, I just wouldn't say that he's African American.
